Preseason Depth Chart
Browns had to release a depth chart for the preseason's week 1 game vs Green Bay. Anderson and Quinn are listed as Co-Starters and Mangini said whoever he decides will start this week, will probably not start next week.
Notes:
- Beau Bell is ILB behind D'Qwell Jackson. I haven't heard much about him at all in camp, but he must be doing enough to get a roster spot so far.
- Titus Brown is above David Veikune for LOLB. I really thought David Veikune might of been fighting for a starting job at the beginning of camp.
- Furrey is #2 on the depth chart for WR. I'm not a big fan of Furrey and I think by the end of camp he will be #4 behind Robiskie and Massaquoi.

Cargile Waived; 2 DB's added
The Cleveland Browns have waived DB Steve Cargile and have signed DB Travis Key and DB Brandon Mitchell, the club announced today.
Key, 5-10 and 185 lbs., was a former walk-on at Michigan State and played in 40 career games with 113 tackles. A native of Three Rivers, Mich., Key started the 2007 season at strong safety for the Spartans and collected 69 tackles and two interceptions.
Mitchell, 6-3 and 205 lbs., joins the Browns after spending his rookie season in 2007 on the Houston Texans practice squad. Mitchell played in 45 career games at Ohio State at both the free and strong safety positions. As a senior at Ohio State, Mitchell ranked fourth on the club with 51 tackles and added two interceptions.
This was a move that needed to happen and I am hopeful that these guys can do better than the guys we had play on Thursday. I was a fan of Cargile because of his Cleveland roots, but he was the weak link and he needed to go.

Gary Baxter Terminated
[Gary Baxter's] improbable nearly two-year comeback from two severely damaged knees -- one of the most remarkable injury stories in the history of the Browns, if not the NFL overall -- has been brought to a halt."Last year we were able to hold a roster spot open for Gary as he attempted to make a monumental comeback," said Phil Savage, Cleveland Browns Senior Vice President and General Manager, in a statement released by the team on Saturday afternoon. "After he underwent a knee scope last week, we are unfortunately not in a position to hold a roster spot this year. We are releasing Gary today in hopes he will be able to continue his rehab and get back into the NFL, either with another team, or possibly with the Browns. Gary has made tremendous strides thus far and we believe he can play professional football again in the future."
I can understand why we terminated his contract completely and I agree with the move... We can't afford to waste roster spots especially if we need to carry 2 fullbacks and maybe 4 tight ends. We can't afford to keep extra players around just in case they make a comeback.
They did say they might bring him back if he gets healthy and if we do, fine, but if not I am not going to be upset by it. I hope he makes a comeback, and if he does, great. I just don't see him doing it as a Brown.

Romeo Rumors
Im hearing a lot about Romeo Crennel possibly going to Miami to coach. I am not saying these rumors are true nor that I believe them, but it brings up an interesting point. How can Romeo leave to coach another team and yet Cowler had to wait a year? What kinda of clause does Romeo's contract have?
Go Browns! Go Browns! Go Browns! Go Browns! This is a filler for 300 characters!

Irony
With the gold glovers announced I have noticed that Adrian Beltre won the gold glove for third base. Isn't it ironic that he won? I mean in the game that got cancelled in Cleveland in early April he had something like 4 errors, but they didn't count because the game was not official.
Do you think he would of won the gold glove if that game would have counted? I don't. He had like 4 errors.

Player Waived: Leonard Signed
http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/article.php?id=7502
It looks like Dave Zastudil might be ready to return to his punting duties for the Browns.Monday, the Browns released punter Scott Player, who had been handling Zastudil's job while he recovered from a back injury.
Player punted 13 times for a 45.6-yard average during three games as a Brown, landing 6 of his kicks inside the 20.
The team started the season off with Paul Ernster handling the punting for Zastudil. Zastudil tried to play in Week Two against Cincinnati but reaggravated the injury and was forced to sit out the past three games.
To fill Player's roster spot, the Browns have claimed defensive tackle Louis Leonard via waivers from the Rams. Leonard, a 6-foot-4 and 330-pound rookie from Fresno State, originally joined the league as an undrafted free agent with the San Diego Chargers.
and he is my opinion on it via my site
Lastly, the final thing we will cover today is that the Browns have waived Scott Player and claimed Louis Leonard from the Rams. The good thing is that the release of Player means Zastudil is ready to play. Also with the signing of Leonard could mean the end of Ted Washington's career with the Browns. As many of you know Ted was inactive against the Patriots and with the way the Defensive Line is playing we needed to make a move.note: i tried to do block quotes but it didnt work
