Vinokourov says Iglinsky's victory was done 'his way'
Does this mean that there was money involved?
Why Crashing Hurts... Arenberg Trench edition: Part 2
Apparently Grischa Janorschke the NetApp rider who crashed spectacularly just as he entered the Arenberg Trench during last Sunday's Paris-Roubaix, didn't come out unscathed as was originally thought. Unfortunately, Grischa sustained a some shattering of his left elbow and a fracture of his left ulna (arm) near the elbow. This was his thrid major crash of the year after crashing out of the Ronde van Drenthe just over a month before P-R with a broken collarbone, and then as a result of the finish line mayhem at the Scheldeprijs crashed and got three stitches in the back of his head. Also, in contrast to speculation about the crash being a result of slipping on the damp cobbles, the current reason for the crash is Janorschke's tire blowing out
Here: is a link to the original article by Chris, and the video that goes along with it (by Chummy93)

Notice how in this video you can see the NetApp rider hold his left arm.
Cav is now a father
Possibly this was the reason for his poor performance.
Millano-Torino is back
Someone should add this to VDS, as a cat 6.
A modest VDS proposal
Dear Superted, Ursula, and other to whom it may concern,
The VDS game, and the road cycling season has been over for about a month now. During this month I've been thinking about some changes to the VDS points system. These new points systems, don't have to be adopted to the letter, or even adopted at all.
Omega-Pharma+Vacansoleil=team
hmm so maybe Gilbert will get what he wished for (Leukmans)
It's official, Zomegan stepping down
The rumors of Zomegan stepping down from his holy post as Giro director have come true :(. He will be succeded by Michele Acquarone, and Mauro Vegini, although it seems like Zomes will still fuction in an unpaid consultancy role.
Four Frenchies and One Dutchie, five riders who may have an impact on the Tour de France
This shall be the second installment of the five riders series that Chris challenged us to write. Therefore, I responded with a post about David Moncoutie, Johnny Hoogerland, Romain Feillu,Thomas Voeckler, and Jimmy Casper.
Cyclists too need to diet
bad Thomas, tsk tsk tsk
VDS Smack: Paris-Nice Edition
First Weeklong Stage-race, . Anyways, First You breed a lot of Hamsters has a total of 9 riders starting:
Samuel Sanchez
Luis Leon Sanchez
Bjorn Leukmans
David Moncoutie
Stijn Devolder
Romain Feillu
Lieuwe Westra
Chris Sorensen
Jussi Veikannen
Personally I suspect that I won't do too much, maybe a stage win, and 5 placings, plus one maybe two top ten placings in the GC.
And now for everybody else's teams!
Bloody Carrot :(
Looks like Koldo Fernandez got a broken collarbone in a crash 100m from the finish during stage 4 of the Ruta Del Sol.
Vacansoleil Kit
Standard blue and yellow
Pegasus Gone
:-O; :(; will traksel go back?
Gav's note: Give the comments a scroll for some more insight on this story.
Cuesta wants to keep on going
*dumbstruck silence*
Contador asks media to report news(not rumors)
I know it's CN, but what they say his agent said is quite reasonable
Pop Go Many People. Anton into three jerseys
Nibali: pop Jrod: POP Menchov: BOOOOOM. This basically sums up the stage for you except for Mosquera's big attack and a few other minor things, so below join me for some more speculation disguised as analysis.
First, does anyone here understand why Rabo put in all that work for nothing, personally I would think that Menchov might start feeling the knee before the official start of the climb. Second, ANTON IS THE MAN TO BEAT at this point at least and if not it's only because he spent too much energy. Anyway on the subject of the Menchov explosion, he finished in 55th 5:05 down on Anton and even more pathetic Gustav Larsson finished 2:06 ahead of Menchov. Third, Tondo looked really good, although I hope he doesn't do a Giro again. While I'm on the subject of solid performances why not talk about Tommy D who last year puked on Sierra Nevada (correct me if I'm wrong), but this year is hanging in eleventh twelfth place. Lastly, give it up for Marzio Bruseign, he was hanging around at xorret del cati and got fourth today and I predict it will be another top ten grand tour finish for him.
If there's anything to add I'll add, if there's anything to subtract I'll do that
Results below the fold.
Anton into red, Moncoutie wins! Martinez still in Polka Dots
And so they have reached the end of the first Mountain stage of the Vuelta with a normal winner David Moncoutie, who put an attack just at the right time to shed everybody. Whereas last year there was the enourmous blow up of Rein Tarrame who finished 9:00 minuets down and Gustavo Veloso's suprise win. Look below the fold for some sundry analysis
Gleanings from the Tour de L'Ain
First all of this is based off of cycling news so if the information I have based these conclusions off of is false or inaccurate do say so.
David Moncoutie has been having good results on all of the mountain stages finishing in the final group on each of them and he got third on gc only five seconds out of first. Seems to me like he's starting to get on form for a run at a third straight kom jersey. Darn good timing considering the vuelta starts two weeks from today. Also, Marco Pinotti did the same except he flopped on the final day. However, he still might regain his Giro form and quietly get a top fifteen on GC. In non-vuelta prep analysis Vacansoliel has continued to win shit small races with Wouter Poels nearly getting 1st place on GC with the same time as Haimar Zubeldia and a stage. Also, Romain Felliu got a stage and the points classification. Nice bit of vindication for Vacansoliel.

Sky has a head of marginal gains?!!
sounds like something out of a Monty Python sketch
Frank Schleck crash parody (In French, but you can understand by the tone of the voice)
Oscarito Gone!!
Oscarito is Gone or so says CN! I guess this means that so many VDS teams are so screwed for the Giro at least, and if you had Pelli or Benna or Tadjec all I am able to say to that is Oy Vey!! Not good, but probably means that Ale-Jet is the big favorite to win the Maglia rosse passione, although Greipel could mount a good challenge if he doesn't leave early, and then there is Farrar. (All analysis is just to fill up the 70 word requirement.)
The Jens! shirt
The new shirt from Cosmo, a sequel to the stop lance shirt. In other cyclocosm news there is a How the Race Was Won video on youtube for AGR
Who should be next?
So, who do you want to be the next person to have a live chat with. If Chris and/or Gavia take this seriously then the winner will be invited to have a live chat with us. Notice there will be no options for people like Fabian Cancellara, and Tom Boonen, Alberto Contador, Andy and/or Frank Schleck, or Cadel Evans, because unfortunately being realistic it's very unlikely that they would have a live chat here.
