Optimistic

I can honestly say I am still very excited for this year.  Yes, we haven't had a good year in the win-loss column, but just look at how many close games we have had.  We have lost 4 games buy one run.  If we would have gotten the big hit from some one like our three-four-five hitters.  Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder, and J.J. Hardy are hitting a combined .170 avg.  As Charles Barkely would say.  "Thats Terrible."  Oh and not to mention the 39 k's that those hitters have.

Losing two aces the Brewers staff was never going to be more than ok keeps the runs down enough were we can out score them. Suppan, well lets just hope for .500 in the games he pitches.  Gallardo as he showed on saturday vs. the Mets even though it was a loss an ace-worthy performance.

The bright spot i feel that no one is talking about, is the emergence of Rickie Weeks.  He looks to be finally showing the hitting talent that every one thought he had.  One of the better averages and on base percentages on the team.  His defense still at time looks little suspect with less than averages throws and that killer error against the mets.

Overall i'm still very excited for this year.  Its a long one, and anything can happen.  The warmer weather coming up, will hopefully unthaw the brewers hitters to take stress of the pitching staff so they don't have to be (or wait try to be, with trying to paint the corners, but instead walk four consecutive with the bases loaded.)
