Game Film Evaluation
This article is in, of all places, the New York Times. The author is a staff writer for theFootballguys.com. in the article, he describes film evaluation at two different positions: quarterback, and running back. He compares and contrasts measures that, in his opinion, differentiate the talented from the successful players. You'll find some of your current most or least favorite players, and even a couple of potential future Texans.

Relative Value of Draft Picks
Abstract: The NFL's salary scheme for rookies results in overpaying top draft picks. Basically, salaries start high, and drop-off faster than the talent level of picks. Why Young, Bush and Leinart went bust
Why should you care, with training camp in progress? Because you can never have enough vindication of the Texans 2006 draft. This article would be better if the author had inserted a section talking about how the Cowboys suck (the 2006 Cowboys draft was Casserly-esque, but sadly, there isn't a tie to the 2006 Rose Bowl). It's the feel-good story of the week, in a schadenfreude sort of way. It took me away from all the broken tibias and contract squabbles and allowed me to chuckle at someone else's misfortune:
RBs, The NFL Draft and Value
What are the odds of finding a productive back in any particular round? Did the Slayton pick defie the odds? The information is in this great post by nycbroncosfan on the Mile High Report.
Dunta News
Looks like he is on schedule, not ahead of schedule. From Pro Football Weekly:
"Texans owner Bob McNair recently told PFW that CB Dunta Robinson, who suffered knee and hamstring injuries last November, is likely to be out until midseason."
Broncos Reportedly Short $$$
According to the article, the Denve Broncos are really short on funds. The Broncos have had layoffs, and they have lost experience coaches and replaced them with less experienced ones. Might explain why the Texans were able to obtain Myers for so little expense:
