That's it, then
"Ainge also said that Sasha Pavlovic's deal was guaranteed and that they had used the taxpayer mid-level exception on Chris Wilcox. Both deals are for one year."
Apparently, barring a last-moment veteran minimum acquisition, the roster you see is the roster you get. Has Ainge done enough?
Lakers end Paul trade talks, ship Odom to Mavs
"After failing to satisfy trade proposal mandates for the NBA-owned New Orleans Hornets, the Los Angeles Lakers ended trade talks for Chris Paul on Saturday night, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
As the Lakers changed course, they traded Lamar Odom to the Dallas Mavericks into a trade exception and set course in pursuit of Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard.
The Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors are expected to return to talks with the Hornets about a Paul deal, front office executives said."
Wonder what this implies about us getting David West. Or about shipping Rondo to the Hornets, for that matter.
Comic Relief Break: Big Al Bitten By Girlfriend.
Jefferson, 26, and Lewis, 38, were having an argument at about 8:45 p.m. Thursday "when she hit him and bit him on the back" in front of her two children, according to a police report. It offered no other details.
E'Twaun Moore Signed To A Guaranteed Deal.
"The contract will be guaranteed," Bartelstein told the Journal and Courier. "E’Twaun is very excited. He is raring to go."
How Rondo Got His Groove Back
Great stuff from Jackie McMullan, as usual.
Rehab the Rondo way :)
NBA is publishing video highlights of teams' top plays over the course of the last season. These are the top 10 plays of the Boston Celtics.
Celtics Targeting Brad Miller
Adrian Wojnarowski over at Yahoo! Sports thinks we're looking to sign Brad Miller, and that "Doc is behaving like a coach who plans to return".
Bill Walton Fighting Serious Back Issues Once Again
Not much has been heard about Bill Walton after he retired from broadcasting last year. Here is an interesting article on the Hall-of-Famer's most recent slew of health issues.

Will Landry be the new Leon Powe?
Jessica Camerato over at WEEI's Green Street gives us a first glance at brand new Celtic Marcus Landry. Some highlights:
• While at Wisconsin, Landry was featured on ESPN.com for juggling academics, athletics, and fatherhood.
• Following summer league, Landry paid his own way to try out with the Knicks in New York. While there he stayed at an $80-a-night hotel, out of his own pocket.
Now does he sound like he's of the mold of someone we used to know and love, or does he?
House, Giddens, Walker for Robinson, Landry
RealGM reports:
Multiple sources say the Knicks have reached a tentative agreement on a deal with Boston sending Nate Robinson and a second player to the Celtics for Eddie House, J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker.
Marcus Landry will be the other player sent to Boston, according to a source that spoke with RealGM's Christopher Reina.
The source of the information is apparently ESPN. I guess Landry for Giddens and Walker is a wash, but if this is what is going to get the deal done, fine.
Cavs to acquire Jamison
The Cavaliers have acquired Antawn Jamison in a three-team deal involving the Wizards and the Clippers. The deal also involves Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Brian Skinner, Al Thornton, Sebastian Telfair, and Drew Gooden. A first round pick will also change hands in the deal.
This has apparently been broken by Wizards insider Michael Lee at the Washington Post. More information on this deal can be found in this RealGM article and via Twitter at the Wizards Insider site.
What happened to the defense?
The Celtics have now allowed the opposition to shoot .450 or better from the field in 4 of the last 5 games, and as a result is a very pedestrian 3-2 in those.
Whatever happened to the team that took pride in its defense?!
Throw in the fact that we were also outrebounded in 4 of the last 5 contests (despite being a very good reboudning team over the last two seasons -- with and without Garnett), and it seems like Doc has his work cut out for him. Either that, or it's time for the players to step it up.
Wojnarowski to Rondo: Before you talk your trash again, feel free to walk a season in Chris Paul’s Brand Jordans.
Adrian Wojnarowski calls out Rondo for his trash-talking in an article at Yahoo! Sports. The article focuses chiefly on Chris Paul, but there are some interesting tidbits about what exactly transpired after the end of the NO-BOS game.
KD, drop the filler, eh?
Mercifully, Kelly Dwyer's top 10 lists seem to have come to an end with the Top 10 players of the decade. Not before he made a fool of himself again, though.
Kelly Dwyer: Celts got the top uniforms of the last 10 years
I never thought much of our uniforms, but apparently KD does. It's interesting that he doesn't mention the green and gold St. Paddy shirts, which I thought were our best kit by far.
James said he sent an e-mail to Howard following Saturday’s game.
"It’s hard for me to congratulate somebody after you just lose to them," he said. "I’m a winner. It’s not being a poor sport or anything like that. If somebody beats you up, you’re not going to congratulate them. That doesn’t make sense to me. I’m a competitor. That’s what I do. It doesn’t make sense for me to go over and shake somebody’s hand."
..says one East scout
Found the following comment at Yahoo:
"Mikki Moore does not fit well with them at all, says one East scout. One of their problems is that Big Baby [Davis] can’t hit a shot outside of five feet. Moore does not help with that. His shot is awful. He can’t pass, he can’t put the ball on the floor. He provides energy, but not much else."
Davis is actually probably better shooting from 15 feet than trying to finish under the basket. It comes as no surprise than then this "scout" has no cluse that Moore actually _can_ shoot. This guy is incompetent.
R.I.P. Helen Heinsohn
Tom Heinsohn's wife Helen, known to those who follow the Celtics on Comcast SportsNet and NBA TV as "the red-head from Needham", lost her battle with cancer yesterday. She was diagnosed with the condition in 2002, and I believe that her condition was the principal reason why Tommy has stopped doing away games as of late.
The thoughts and prayers of the whole Celtics nation should be with our favorite homer right now more than any other time.
