Ah, finally. Bowl season is upon us fresh after a beautiful win over North Carolina in Arlington on the court. Two of our past opponents (victims) are playing tonight. Wyoming will take on Ryan Matthews and Fresno State on ESPN currently in progress, and UCF will take on Rutgers tonight in the St. Petersburg Bowl. Apparently the winner gets free cover to the various late night "dancing" studios throughout the Tampa Bay Metroplex. Totally not worth it. Open thread below.

The main article is based upon Herschel Sims, while not only does he have the best name for a RB ever, but he's having the best production out of any RB in the state right now who is not named Traylon Shead. Sims is only 102 rushing yards away from having 1000 yards in the playoffs alone on the ground. He's excelled at kickoff returns as well this postseason and is going to be quite a recruit come next year.

Hamilton also reports on Brandon Williams from Pattison, Texas who is a very talented RB, however from a very small school. He runs a recorded 10.6 in the 100m and has attended mini camps for Texas this past year. According to Hamilton, Texas recruiters came by Pattison this week to check him out.

Hamilton then dives into the seemingly large pool of Defensive Backs in the Houston Area for 2011.
The list:

Leroy Scott from South Houston
Sheroid Evans from Sugarland Dulles (very very fast)
Kolby Griffin from St. Pius X
Charles Jackson from Klein Collins

For those who want to read the article, here is the link.

Enjoy and discuss below.

I do realize, "its about damn time!", but then again...its Bobby Freaking Bowden!

Alot going on in the world of college football coaches today.

Sparty drops out of the top 5 after losing to unranked Florida. Kansas received all of the votes save for one, which went to 5th ranked Duke. Kansas out gained Texas by 44 points (774-730). This is certainly looking to be one hell of a season for the Big 12 in Basketball as there are about 5 teams who stand a chance to pull an upset and take the throne away from either the Jayhawks or the Longhorns.

Here is the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=4700669

Discuss...and hook em!

Wow. I can't really say that I didn't expect it, but I'm truly proud of him and the way Muschamp is getting our guys to play lights out defensively.

I cannot find confirmation on this except for shaggybevo and Barkingcarnival, but when I do, I'll post it in the comments.

Eric Berry and Joe Haden are the other finalists. Berry should win on name recognition alone. He's absolutely amazing for the Vols and has been for 3 years.

This is a joke. I'm not trying to start 500 comment thread/debate/bitch session about Greg Davis. I know he has his faults, but he's our OC and we're stuck with him until he rides off into the sunset, most likely the "little spoon" in front of Mack.

Just thought I'd share. I know he's gotten a little bit better the past few weeks. Our running game has seems to have taken a step foward against Baylor and that is a good sign. I know everyone is saying, "but but but...its just Baylor". Bite me. Two RBs gained over 80 yards a piece makes me happy regardless of who we've played, but I'm getting away from the joke at hand.

Hook em and lets go Hawk Hunting!

Enjoy.
