Testudo Times Pankey

I know we don't have much to go on for Pankey in terms of skills, since he's been out for his senior year in HS, and his freshman year here, but after many comments on facebook and twitter, it seems that he has finally healed, and should be playing next season.

When I think back to the open practice the terps held in the fall, I remember him playing, and not doing half bad. If he can shake the rust off, he has the potential to fill a big void next year

With all of the Jordan Williams uncertainty, we need as many healthy bigs as we can get, so personally I'm really glad to hear he's healthy and ready to play.

Testudo Times Casual Terp fans

It seems that everybody on here is hating on the attendance at the games recently, and I can understand your...disappointment, but I'd say most people are being too negative about it. I know I'm being a dead horse with this one, but a lot of us had tests this week. I got lucky and had mine earlier in the week, but I'm sure a number of students had tests today. Sometimes students can't work their schedule around to fit in the game when they have a test or paper due the next day, and we shouldn't be angry with them over that. They're just being responsible students (remember, the reason we're in school in the first place is to get a degree, not to attend sporting events)

We are allowed to have casual fans. Fact of the matter is, we don't have enough 'hardcore' fans to fill up the student section. If we did, this wouldn't be a problem, as the hardcore fans will put anything off to go to games. However, we have a large base of casual fans; people who enjoy the social experience of the games and cheering for their team. I don't see why people have to be so negative to the casual fan. They're casual fans for a reason; maybe they only like basketball, or prefer other sporting events, or just have other things to do that they deem more fun/important. Sure, I was disappointed about the poor turnout by the casual fans last night, but I'm not going to try to shame them for not coming; WE NEED THEM.

Finally, I find it pretty hypocritical that people on here are so quick to throw stones at those who didn't go last night, yet I'd bet a good number of you haven't even been to a women's basketball game this year. The turnout at the women's Duke game was pitiful. Nobody seems too upset about the poor attendance at those games.

The point I'm trying to make is this: Be disappointed about attendance, but don't be ANGRY. I'd love a full house every game, but not everybody really cares about basketball that much. Everybody please remember, Its just a game. Its meant to be fun.
