Turf Show Times Laurent Robinson - Done for the year

The associated press is reporting that Laurent Robinson will miss the remainder of the season with a high right ankle sprain and a fractured fibula.  This is exactly what the Rams didn't need as Robinson was becoming the go to WR so far this season.  Donnie Avery and Burton will have to step it up in Robinson's absence.  The Rams can't catch a break (no pun intended) this season and will need everyone to step it up a notch.  The Rams will also probably have to look elsewhere to sign another WR to our already thin receiving unit.

Turf Show Times Home Grown Talent

It all starts with the draft...The Rams continue to make mistakes in the Draft and this team fails to develop home grown players.  We traded Tye Hill (former #1 pick 3 years ago) for a 6th rounder.  You have to be kidding me.  Adam Carriker (1st rounder) is on IR and he hasn't shown a thing.  Brian Leonard (2nd rounder) a few years ago was sent to the Bengals for nothing.  Joe Klopfenstein (2nd rounder)...enough said.  Jimmy Kennendy...another 1st round bust.  I hope Jason Smith isn't another dissapointment but if this trend continues the rams are in big trouble.

The Rams need to start targeting players that can be game changers and get some fire back on this team.  We need some young players that can lead.  I think we are starting to go in the right direction with a player like Laurinaitis.  I hope Donnie Avery wasn't another second round mistake (we passed on DeSean Jackson!)
Alright I'm done venting lol.  Let me know your thoughts.

Turf Show Times Baskett

I just heard that the Eagles are probably going to cut Hank Baskett.  They are activating Vick and need to free up a roster spot.  Baskett could be an option for the Rams at WR.  He's obviously not anything too special but could be a big receiver that the Rams definitely could use. Considering their current situation at WR he might be worth picking up.  He's definitely better than Tyree who's name was thrown around the past few days.  Thoughts?

Turf Show Times Zygmunt Out!

ESPN is reporting that the Rams and Jay Zygmunt have come to a mutual agreement on his resignation effective immediately.  This is a step in the right direction and all Rams fan should be very happy to see him go.  Here's to rebuilding from top to bottom!  Haslett's future is still up in the air but I see a new coach next season even though all the blame shouldn't be put on him.

Turf Show Times More Bad News for the Rams

The Rams will miss Orlando Pace for 2-4 weeks with a sprained mcl ligament in his knee.  This couldn't come at a worse time for the Rams who are reeling after two blowout losses.  Hopefully this injury isn't a career ender for Pace but his age is becoming a factor.

Steven Jackson will also be sidelined for the Bears game this week with his quad injury.  This will be his 5th straight game missed and this injury seems to be lingering a lot longer than anyone expected.  It seems like the Rams aren't going to risk using him anytime soon with the season in turmoil.  Antonio Pittman did have a good game and looks like a viable back-up for next season and possible starter for the rest of the year.  Look for him to have a good game against the Bears struggling run defense.

Bulger will remain the starter for the foreseeable future. The Rams will defintiely need to look at the QB position in the offseason and possibly go in another direction.  This season has been a major dissapointment but maybe this team will show so fight the rest of the season and not pack it in like the previous 2 weeks.  We can only hope!

Turf Show Times Bennett and Hall placed on IR

The Rams have reported that Drew Bennett and Dante Hall have been placed on IR and are out for the rest of the season

Bennett has been a complete bust and broke a bone in his foot on opening day against the Eagles.  This injury has not healed properly so he'll sit out the rest of the year.  This is no big loss for the Rams and actually a blessing in disguise.  I don't think Avery would have lost his position as the #2 WR if Bennett came back.  This also gives K. Burton a chance to get some more experience.

Dante Hall suffered a high ankle sprain against the Cards on Sunday and the injury apparently is very serious and he'll shut it down for the year.  This will give Stanley (who caught an 80 yard TD on Sunday) a chance to return kicks and punts.  I believe that Hall had lost a step and was not going to help this team the rest of the year so hopefully some hands on experience will help Stanley out.

The Rams are no stranger to injuries so hopefully the young talent on this team can step up and continue to make plays.  Steven Jackson needs to get healthy and hopefully can go at 100 percent on Sunday at the Jets.  I'll be at the game cheering on our boys wearing my Rams jersey so keep an eye out and let me know if your going.  GO RAMS!

Turf Show Times Rams send tape from Pats game to NFL

ESPN is reporting that Coach Haslett has sent video evidence of missed calls from Sunday's game against the Patriots to the NFL league's office.  The Rams were penalized a total of 12 times while the Patriots had zero assesed penalites during the game.  The officiating this year in the NFL has been the worst I've ever seen.  It does seem pretty strange that the Pats could play a perfect game and since they were the home team that definitely adds to the controversy.  I think Haslett is trying to get it out there in front of the leagues eyes and hopefully improve the officiating.  Hopefully a few Refs can get graded high enough to work the Superbowl.

Turf Show Times Jackson to play vs. Pats

Rams fans can take a sigh of relief as star running back Steven Jackson expects to play this weekend against the Patriots.  Jackson had a monster game against the Cowboys running for 160 yards and 3 TD's but strained his quad during the game.  The "Predator" is back and I expect him to keep rolling against the Patriots.  Jim Haslett has stepped in and added some fire and inspiration to this team and the players are responding.  This was a huge week for the Rams and a win against the Pats this week would solidify them as a legit playoff contender.

Turf Show Times Incognito

The NFL laid down the hammer and fined Richie "Anything But" Incognito 35K.  I feel he's lucky only getting a fine after he almost cost the Rams the game.  His actions at the end of the game were childlish and downright stupid.  Hopefully he will learn but somehow I doubt that.  I know we need all of the offensive lineman since Pace will be out so hopefully the rest of the O-Line steps up and protects Bulger.

Turf Show Times Bulger's Back

Bulger back as Rams' starting quarterback after one-week benching

In Jim Haslett's  first major move as head coach of the Rams he made a smart choice.  Marc Bulger has been reinstated as the starting QB for the St. Louis Rams.

This is an obvious choice for many reasons but ultimately Bulger is the highest paid player in Rams history and gives the team the best chance to win.  Bulger has had a rough start to the season but didn't deserve to be benched in my opinion.  His benching was a last ditch attempt by Scott Linehan to save his job.  Hopefully this will be the beginning of the Rams becoming at least competive in the National Football League.

Welcome back Marc!

Turf Show Times Linehan Fired!

Chris Mortensen is reporting that Scott Linehan has been fired.  The Rams will be releasing an official statement at 9:30 AM eastern.

Here is the link:

This is a smart move by the Rams and had to be done.  Linehan lost the team.  I heard Haslett is the front runner for interim head coach.  I'm not thrilled about that but he can't be worse than Scott.

Turf Show Times Trent Green vs. Bulger

Can someone please tell me how Trent Green gives us a better chance to win than Marc Bulger?  Scott Linehan just sealed his own fate with this move and I am looking forward to moving ahead with a new coach.  This team has been underachieving for years and but this year has been the worst by far.  Giving up 18 points in the 4th quarter of a tight game is unexcusable especially at  home.  Hopefully this move will be made quick.  I did take a few positives out of today's game for a change.  The OL played very well and Steven Jackson finally looks ready to run.  Missing training camp definitely hurt him and now he seems to be at full strength.  I think we have a player in Avery and the D looked a little better today.  We can't lose next week (bye) and hopefully we'll get off the schnide the following week.  Go Rams!

Turf Show Times Stat of Week 3

Stat of the Week III At 5:14 p.m. ET on Sept. 21, on their 28th offensive possession of the season, the St. Louis Rams invaded the red zone of an opponent for the first time this season. When I saw this I definitely was in shock. Could this be true? Well it definitely is true and shows how bad this team is on both sides of the ball. Starting field position has been terrible all season plus the offense is non-existent. This stat pretty much sums up the season. Buffalo is no joke and Marshawn Lynch is going to be a handful next week. Something has to give with this team sooner than lat

Turf Show Times Embarrasment

I must admit that I was one of the few Rams fans at Lincoln Financial Field this afternoon to witness the worst football game I've ever seen the Rams play.  Most fans that watched the game on TV were lucky because you could change the damn channel.  I had to sit and watch as the Rams disgraced themselves and became a whipping boy for the Eagles.  I'm a little bitter in case you didn't notice.
This team is an absolute joke.  I didn't have high expectations coming into the season but I thought the Rams would be a competitve team and have a shot at winning the NFC West and maybe 8 games.  7.5 point dogs to the Eagles and we lost by 35.  The Eagles could have won by 50 if they kept their starters in and shut us out but they gave us some mercy.  Where do I start?  How about the secondary:  The Eagles started a rookie WR and Hank Baskett.  Greg Lewis and Avant coming off the bench.  Somehow with WR's you've never heard of the Rams got torched play after play.  Can someone please turn around and see the ball after it's thrown?  These dbacks just look like deer in headlights.  We are going to get smoked by every team in the league if they want to throw the ball.  The only guy getting any pressure on McNabb was Long.  Our offense was in shambles and Bulger had zero time to throw the ball most of the day.  I couldn't even tell you if Torry Holt was at the game.  He was non-existent and don't even get me started on Drew Bennent.  Hopefully Avery and Burton will get some experience in the upcoming weeks.  McMichael was the only positive I saw on offense.  Steven Jackson looked slow and like he missed training camp.  Shocker!  The bottom line is the Rams have a ton of work to do before any team in the league will respect them.  How did it look on TV?

Turf Show Times Jackson

After seeing the Rams get pounded in the preseason opener against the Titans it's clear to me that the Rams are missing more than a few things.

First off w/out Steven Jackson the Rams are guarenteed last place in the lowly West.  I'm a Rutgers grad here and a big Brian Leonard fan but he's not a #1 running back.  The Rams need to get this deal done and as soon as possible because Jackson is about the only bright spot the Rams have this year.  The O-Line can hopefully turn it around and give Marc some protection and I'm anticipating some good things from our rookie WR's.  Bennett is shaky to me but hopefully he can be a nice suprise this year.  The run defense was miserable last season and the opener was a joke.  Everyone knows the Titans can't throw the ball and they still ran all over us.  Our LB's need to step it up against the run this season.

We definitely have a shot at winning the division but things can go downhill quickly once the season starts.  Hopefully Jackson will be back soon and our young talent can step up and make some plays.  Let me know your thoughts!

Turf Show Times Rams 2008 Draft

As a die-hard Rams fan over the past 2 decades I was so pumped to see the Rams take a franchise player like Chris Long.  I think he will come in and contribute to the defense right off the bat.  Hopefully Leonard Little can come back this year with a vengance and put pressure on the outside.  I think the defense is headed in the right direction and J. King was a quality pick in the 4th round with plenty of upside.   I was hoping the Rams would have taken Dan Connor in the 3rd round but I think the OL need was more important.  Overall the Rams did a good job and I'm excited to see some of the young guys get some action this year.  We still have plenty of star players and if Pace is healthy the Rams can definitely be a playoff contender.  Let me know your thoughts.
