OT: New Pokemon Game
I am kind of excited about a new game, but I don't want to devote countless hours to breeding. Maybe something awesome, though.
oops...
Shame on you for forgetting.
Milton Bradley Doesn't Write That Well

Don't Click Me: Messenger Sent Down?
I feel this is newsworthy. Right over here
You'll need to visit the link before you read the rest of the diary, or else you'll be left clueless.
Did you know Randy Messenger was demoted?
That fat clown shouldn't have called the HR chase/Barry a freak show when he arrived. What? He was referring to the media? Screw you! I knew that. But why has he gotten multiple diaries for being demoted (no smart-ass comments that points out I created one is needed)?
How he was regarded:
"You can't trash Benitez for years and then complain we got a bum for him."
Yes I can. I just did. And if you re-read what I wrote, you would understand why I could and did.
This guy is worse than getting nothing. He's a piece of shit. We have no shortage of pieces of shit. The concept is that when you have lots of pieces of shit, you do not solve your problems by exchanging one piece of shit for another piece of shit. The idea is to flush as many pieces of shit as you can down the toilet. Not keep bringing them onto the team.
There is nothing in his appearance, his stats, his statements, his past troubles with teammates to convince me that he is not exactly that--a piece of shit.
Now it may turn out somehow that this piece of shit can be upgraded to a mediocre middle reliever, but what in recent Giants history leads anybody other than Brian Sabaen and a few front office sycophants to believe that he is going to be anything other than what he has been since he got to MLB? Well? What is it that you know, that I don't that precludes me from referring to him as just one more piece of shit acquired by Brian Sabaen?
Oh yeah, you clicked on the link and you even clicked to read this diary. HAHAHAHA!
The only thing left to do is to turn this into a link dump...

I like the part when the author says Aurilia still has a few good years in him.
Nicely done!
Why are the Rockies in the World Series?
They had the foresight to designate Steve Finley for assignment.
Too late for the Giants.
Damn Straight!
Fear not! This diary won't resemble a similarly-named claptrap diary written by MCC's notorious poster.
But then again, most people do visit that site without my prodding.
Well, at least I can offer this...

I never get tired of it!
Old Man Miller...
is here to stay! Or at least extended:
Managing the Clock (Indians)
A series of interesting discussions have been discussed by A's fans, who have been mulling over a Blanton-for-Milledge trade. The contentitous issues over service time and salary have also been mentioned. For instance, they have been discussing the trade-off of six(or less) years of Milledge for a cheap arm like Blanton (who is already in the majors).
Would you trade for Milledge and then play him immediately, knowing that you would likely waste one low-salary year for a lack of substantial production? Or would you trade for Milledge, and keep him in the minors so that you keep all of his peak years for cheap (you also are less likely to contend in the present)? Or would you keep Blanton, who is ready to play now?
The thing is I don't like Bush Milledge. Instead, I wanted to know how the situation of keeping Lincecum in the minors is similar. How does the McCovern feel about keeping Lincecum for more years in the minors, so that the Giants get his most productive years (so that we don't waste his cheap rookie season and we get his best years before he becomes a free agent)?
Also, I have been reading this old article by the Indians, which concerns service time and how arbitaration-eligibility affects roster decisions. Is there any chance that Cain might be affected by this situation?
http://www.letsgotribe.com/story/2006/6/23/15557/1077
If I remember correctly, when Cain was called up, he did not spend too much time in the majors. I hope the Giants didn't waste one of his pre-free agent years.

Suck my balls, Cartman-style. Yay!
We could have had this instead of Fleas, but 3 years and 20 million?
JON MILLER IS 31 YEARS OLD
According to this wikipedia article...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Miller
But then it also says he graduated college in the 70s. I am betting the article is wrong in regards to Miller's age. 'Cause he seems to be on the wrong side of 30.
Yankees hit with $26 million luxury tax
Ordinarily, this would belong in the non-giants league news(?), but I think this deserves a a special case:
"But at the end of the day, it's always been George Steinbrenner's philosophy to win. If a difference-maker is attainable, the Boss goes and gets him."
Wow, another "at the end of the day," from someone not as savvy, intelligent, and handsome as GM Brian Sabean.
(sorry about the poorly posted link)
Best GM?
Sabean ranks a high # 17

SF Giants and Barry Bonds promotion
Since Bonds and the Giants managment have been getting along so well recently, they have decided to work together, beginning a modest campaign for holiday promotion:

(was posted on sfgiants.com)
How long was this up on the site? Glad the sides are getting along so well...
What does it take to fail a physical?
When a player must take a physical for a trade to consummate, how "out of shape" does the said player need to be so that he fails? I read that in the 2003 offseason, Dreamy actually failed a physical when he was being almost traded back to Seattle. Is this true?
Totally pointless: Height of players
Are baseball players held to a different standard for height? (I just read firejoemorgan's blog about the shortness of David Eckstein, and the comment(s) on this site about the build of Lincecum).
Is 5' 7" really that short? How about the regular people like us?
Peter Gammons on Bonds
Does anyone know what he is talking about? It isn't the fact that he writes with run-on sentences (I remember one diary on this site that was about Gammons' prose). I just don't have access to the entire blog. Can someone who has read it summarize?
Gonzo to bums
Is this supposed to be good for us?
All Star Game
Is there anyway for a collective movement to vote Barry in for the All Star game next year? If there is one, then I might be happy if Barry moves on to another team, so that he could return for the ASG with gaudy numbers, rubbing it in the face of Giants management. Too bad he is reviled outside of the Bay Area, and that there is no guarantee that he will play well.
If this scenario isn't possible, bring back Barry!

I think this is a neat article, especially how it details the hysteria among the sports media over steroids.
