I am retired from the insurance field after working for my Dad 5 years and then for my husband who both owned Independent agencies. I grew up being a Wildcat fan due to my Dad's passion for UK basketball and football and his beloved Notre Dame. I have an old picture of him after a football game at St. Leo Prep Academy and his face is so beaten and rough looking! He lettered in basketball too.
I share this passion of sports with my three sisters, three brothers and a very large extended family of relatives and friends. We are the BBN!

Travis Ford gets a new 10 yr conract
They must really like him...doubled his salary for this season.
Good for you Travis and good luck with your team. Tell Heather I said hello. She was a friend of my daughter during HS and the swim team.
The swine flu in Ky has now gone to regional outbreak.
This could really be bad this season. Some schools in Ky have already been hit and they have shut down for a week or several days this week. It seems to be hitting the elementary schools the hardest.
I am hoping it does not hit our sports programs at UK.
Outstanding article on Jeremy Jarmon
He is doing well in the practices with the Redskins and presently working on the special teams unit. Go Jeremy!
Bucks sign Meeks
Jodie gets a 3 year contract with Milwaukee. Great for him!
Hope this link is right, unlike my other one :-)
Mike Pratt totally supports Coach Cal
Per Larry Vaught's site. I know Pratt was part of the search committee for a new coach, but his comments on Gillispie gave me pause to note just what was happening with our program.
Mike feels very confident in this hire so I will take his word.
Now we know the Boogie Man at Rupp
Great artcicle from Mark Story on Darren Moscoe who dances at Rupp Arena during the basketball games.
His story in his childhood years is very sad, but thanks to the dear Lord, he can now do what he loves.
One of the commenters says he coached him in LL baseball.
I love this story and video of him dancing. Enjoy everyone.
Want to see a nice article about Coach G?
A close up look at Coach after the Tennessee win from Steve Tressler who owns a restaurant in Lexington.
Matt Pilgrim
This is another great article from Vaught about Pilgrim and what he will bring to the game next year for the Wildcats.
If Patterson says this guy will be a great contributor, then I would definitely bank on it. Can't wait to see him in action next season.
Go Cats!
Bill Keightley's Oral History Project
"The William B. Keightley Project contains interviews with Bill Keightley about his life and experiences as the equipment manager for the University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball team from 1962 until his death in 2008. Keightley talks about the basketball coaches he served under including Adolph Rupp, Joe B. Hall, Eddie Sutton, Rick Pitino, Tubby Smith, and Billy Gillespie, he discusses players he interacted with over the years, and he reflects on changes to the game of men’s college basketball. Keightley, nicknamed "Mr. Wildcat," also reflects on his personal life and family, his career as a postal carrier in Lexington, Kentucky, and his experiences as a United States Marine."
I know that many UK fans want to hear what Mr. Wildcat experienced all his many years at UK. I am going to listen to all of them in my spare time.
I personally think ASoB should have a permanent link on this site Tru. UK will never have another Mr. Keightley IMO.
Porter knows how to handle criticism
Another great piece from Vaught on Mike's ability to handle the criticism he has received his three years at UK. I must say it takes a very special UK player to look past that and just continue what he is asked to do in practice and for the team. Jodie Meeks says the same thing in a different way referring to his injuries last season. A very good read.
Lyons a perfect fit for Big Brothers recruitment
Another good story from Larry Vaught on Dicky Lyons...a great Wildcat and young man.
Meeks, UK Looking OK for Jan 4
This is an artcile by Crawford at the CJ about the game yesterday...there are also 3 video interviews with Coach G, Harris and Meeks.
I like seeing the faces with the interviews.
Enjoy!
Keightley big influence on Slone
I had not heard this before but I am not surprised.
I think this guy is going to have a great career at UK. I love home grown Kentucky walk-ons.
A Wild Ride Getting Wilder
Hey Cat fans just hold on tight and enjoy it! I am.
Tom Leach's interview with Ashley Judd after the UNC game
All I can say is we should be VERY proud to have her as UK basketball fan. She is so intelliigent as an individual and a woman, and has done so many good things outside of her acting career for the human cause.
Regarding 93.9 The Ticket
I for one am upset that Cumulus pulled the radio show. I did not listen that often but anytime Matt, Jody and Trevor were going to talk about potential recruits coming into Louisville, UK or IU, I found it an interesting radio sports talk show.
Living in the area I do, I could not pick it up via regular radio so I did the streaming on the internet. This is the only sports radio talk show that was available to me and now it is no more. I am sad though I can understand the BIG guys cutting expenses in this day with the economy going belly up.
I hope that all the guys that contributed so much to the sports programs during their short lived broadcasts will find another venue. The state of Ky and Indiana needs it.
The Harassment of Coach G by the NABC
Yet again, the NABC has gone after our Coach because he set the date for Big Blue Madness a week earlier, all within NCAA guidelines.
I think the other coaches are just po'd that our Coach was more ingenious than they.
Go Cats!
Life of Reilly
Since the Ryder Cup is happening this week in Louisville, I thought this article was pretty funny. Read and enjoy.
Hartline Named SEC Offensive Player of the Week
Congrats Mike! You did a great job and you deserve this honor.

Jerry Tipton's View of the pickup game today
Is he mellowing a bit? I doubt it.
Now, it's official: Miami Heat president Pat Riley a Hall of Famer
He just wishes that his parents were alive to see this. And yes, his Dad could drive to a hilltop in NY with his 6 pack to hear his games at UK on the radio.
Good for him!
Big Blue Madness Date has changed
Will now be Friday October 10 instead of the 17th.
Thought many UK fans would want to know.
Cats new equipment hauler
If you see this awesome 18-wheeler traveling on I-64 towards Louisville Sunday, don't be shocked. Courtesy of a donor for UK football!
Blood thicker than Blue: Ex-Cat backs Cards for son
Nice artcle by Mark at the LHL.
Don't miss the video of Steve Tressler, a former football Cat.
Now he is true blue! Hilarious!
Men's Basketball Taking Camps around Kentucky
Gillispie and staff taking basketball to Kentucky kids this month.
I can't believe this Coach and his non-stop schedule
When does his basketball "boot camp" start?
Men's Basketball Taking Camps around Kentucky
This is great PR for Ky Basketball and a fun and learning experience for these young people.
Kudos to Coach G and staff.
Vaught's Views: UK's Porter ready to lead
Nice interview with Michael Porters's dad and how Mike is progressing this summer what he thinks our new players this season.
Michael Avery has a scholarship in hand to a big-time basketball program and he's only 15
Very nice and informative ariticle about our young Avery. He is a giant!
