Unless your name is Willie Bloomquist.

Also, Betancourt has tried his best to prove that OBP > AVG is not always true, but he seems to have failed on that part by a bit.

It should also be noted that Brandon Morrow this year is one of the few exceptions to ERA > WHIP. And he's doing it by throwing 85% fastballs. What makes Morrow's fastball so unhittable, anyway? It seems like hitters are just baffled by it, but it doesn't appear to do anything special.

Pat Gillick back in the M's FO? More likely than you think.

Per JAC at PI:

I'll have something to say about all the rumors surrounding the possible return of former GM Pat Gillick.

If you haven't heard, ESPN's Jayson Stark, who is generally reliable when reporting rumors and things - so we can be sure it's a rumor at least, not something he made up for fun - mentioned this morning on Sports Radio KJR that he's hearing that Gillick could return to Seattle, not necessarily as GM, but perhaps as team president.

Discuss...

Well, his contract is only through the end of the year, but at least he's not freely available for the Ms to get to like now...

Krivsky is a terrible candidate with more negatives than positives, and I haven't seen any positive mention of him on any of the GM lists that have been thrown around.

According to JAC, he doesn't like players that strike out a lot, regardless of their other merits. So he'd be in love with Betancourt and Lopez and hate Beltre.

We have another list of GMs and some info about them from Will Carroll over at Baseball Prospectus. He's worked with Derek Zumsteg on BP articles in the past... anyway, here's the list, minus the explanations:

1. Jed Hoyer (Assistant GM, Red Sox)

2. Jack Zduriencik (Scouting Director, Brewers)

3. Rick Hahn (Assistant GM, White Sox)

4. Mike Rizzo (Assistant GM/Scouting, Nationals)

5. Tony LaCava (Assistant GM, Blue Jays)

6. Mike Chernoff (Director of Baseball Operations, Indians)

7. John Ricco (Assistant GM, Mets)

8. John Abbamondi (Assistant GM, Cardinals)

9. Thad Levine (Assistant GM, Rangers)

10. Peter Woodfork (Assistant GM, Diamondbacks)

He also mentions Damon Oppenheimer, Tony Bernazard, Jerry DiPoto, Kim Ng, and Dick Tidrow.

Some familiar names from other lists, some new ones... Interesting nonetheless.

If you're a BP subscriber, here's the article:

http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=7683
