Baron Davis has the most severe injury that a man could have
The Charlotte Observer has a new report on the exact nature of Baron's injury...
Nate Robinson waived by Thunder
With Shump-Shump out for 2-4 weeks, and Bibby ailing, should we sign KryptoNate for the minimum if he clears waivers?
PSA: We are now calling Tyson Chandler "The Bison"
Approved forms: Bison, Bison Chandler, Tyson "The Bison" Chandler. Other forms are pending approval.
Disclaimer: Another nickname may be used if Clyde comes up with something better on a game telecast. This is how we got "Wil the Thrill," after all. Having said that, Bison will still be acceptable nomenclature.
Thank you for reading this public service announcement, and please remember to refer to Tyson Chandler as Bison in all comments and game threads forthwith.

"Wil The Thrill" Chandler to play in China
One of our favorite former Knicks will be playing for the Zhejiang Guangsha (Lions), making somewhere between $1.7 and $3.1 million USD for the year.
The Lions are located in the city of Hangzhou, which is an awesome city - I was there this summer! I think Wil definitely made the right decision.

Title says it all, read the translated blog post for the hilarious (and yet totally understandable) details.
Donnie Walsh, on making a trade this season:
"I'm active," Knicks president Donnie Walsh told ESPN.com. "I'm talking to people to kind of find out what's out there. It's not like we're shopping or anything; we just want to see what's available. In my mind the team is getting more defined, so it's not like you're out there not quite sure of what you want. It's a little more defined as to what we need.
"[It's] not just bigs. We're looking at a couple positions to see if we can make ourselves better. But also, whoever we're looking at has to be good enough to play now. This isn't a future thing."
from Chris Sheridan's post-game blog, found here.
Clearly, Walsh is considering making moves, although he might not have the level of urgency that some of us would like. He talks about needing to look at "a couple positions," but what positions should he be looking at? Does Donnie even need to make a move this season? Answer the poll and mix it up in the comments, toasters.
Did the Magic get the asbestos from us?
Apparently a "rampant" virus is demolishing the Magic - four guys sent home sick, including Howard. Weird.
Allan Houston, next Knicks GM?
Here's the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/news/story?id=5401779
Are we overjoyed with NY pride, concerned because he doesn't have much experience, or ambivalent since Donnie Walsh still calls all the shots anyway? Some combination of the...three?
THREE POINT BALL, ALLAN HOU-STON!
(I had to get that out of my system. Also, I'm nowhere near 75 words and I'm stalling. Can you tell?)
Good news, another team has completely mortgaged their future...
As you know, the Knicks have been universally mocked for trading away many first-round draft picks. Well, now we're not the only ones. To get Lebron and Bosh, the Heat traded 4 (four!!) first round draft picks for guys that were going to sign outright anyway.
The breakdown is this:
Raptors get: their own 1st rounder in 2011, the Heat's first rounder in 2011, 14.5 million trade exception
Cavs get: the Heat's first rounders in 2013 and 2015, the option to swap firsts in 2012, two unspecified second rounders, 14.5 million trade exception
Will the Knicks still be the ones mocked for their draft transgressions? Will the Heat live to regret these deals? Are Oreo Cakesters the greatest snack ever conceived by man? I want to know where P&T stands on this.
Bosh narrows it down to 5 teams
cliffs: Raps, Lakers, Heat, Bulls, Knicks all still in running for Bosh's services. Bosh would prefer a sign-and-trade if he changes teams.
Knicks can offer playoff bonus to free agents, in addition to salary
We can offer this bonus (same one Nate and D-Lee got this year) and not have it count against the cap, since it is considered "unlikely" that we will make the playoffs next year. Looks like Donnie has another ace up his sleeve.
Y'know, when I was in Shaolin Kung Fu, my sensei always said to expect the unexpected...
P&T Playoff Bracket Challenge (2nd annual!)
The NBA.com website runs a Pick N' Roll contest to see who can pick the playoffs the most accurately. All you have to do is pick the winners of each series and the number of games each series will go. I put together a league for all of us at P&T. Go to the link, and then use this info to join the league.
League name: Posting and Toasting
Password: DWTDD
You'll need to make a NBA.com account if you don't have one - the process should be relatively quick and relatively painless.
Anyway, there are prizes up for grabs, and you get to talk smack to you fellow P&T users. What's not to like? Get in there ASAP.
Is Chris Bosh undervalued?
Tom Ziller puts two really intuitive graphs in this one regarding scoring rate/efficiency and rebound rates for the recent top-tier PFs in the league at age 25.
Bosh grades out VERY highly on these two charts. This is of course mitigated by the fact that he has a broken face.
Mobley released, reduces luxury tax rebate by $300,000
cliffs: Mobley finally waived, Knicks save 9.5 million on luxury tax bill, other teams under the tax get screwed out of 300k. sweet.

Editor's Note: Nice find, latrell!
Three-point ball, ALLAN HOUSTON!

Z-Bo, Q-Rich swapped in deal
No joke. The Clips trade Zach Randolph to Memphis for Quentin Richardson. Deal becomes final on July 8.
wow.
Posting & Toasting Draft Lottery Challenge
Editor's Note: Once again, thanks to latrell for setting things up. One more of these and we may have to crown him "Official Coordinator of Special Events".
With the draft quickly approaching, and the Finals over and done with, it's time for another P&T contest. Congrats to pdtuminaro for winning our last contest, the playoff Pick N' Roll bracket challenge. You now have some type of bragging rights and you clearly know more about the playoffs than the rest of us.
Anyway, nba.com has now put up the EA Sports Draft Pick 'Em Game.
No leagues in this one, so anyone interested should just do your mock draft there and report back after the draft with your score. We're working on the honor system for this, which is just as well since I don't actually have any prizes to offer.
All you have to do is go there and make the first 14 selections of the draft, in any order you choose.
...and of course, you can comment here with your picks, trash talk, and compelling youtube links. Go!

Live from the United Center: Chicago 110, New York 103
Editor's Note: Our very own "latrell chokewell" was in Chicago last night, and was kind enough to recap the enthralling Knicks-Bulls match-up. What follows is his hard-hitting work.
This is Mike D'Antoni. Mike is the coach of the New York Knicks. I saw him coach at the United Center. I am now calling for his head (or am I?).
Read on to find out what the hell I'm talking about, why I think the Knicks lost, and who the most talented members of the Bulls really are.

D'Antoni, Gotham's Savior
Kinda interesting article on what makes D'Antoni tick and how he's handling NY, and also a brilliant pic of the team featuring a very creepy face by Tim Thomas - look for it.
Isiah Thomas - future Clippers GM?
Thomas talks to Sterling (Clips owner), meeting arranged by Dunleavy. no job offer yet but the Clips have an opening at GM. pretty sure a Thomas hire would be divine retribution for the two OT wins over our beloved Knicks.
A Night at the Izod: New Jersey 106, New York 101
Editor's Note: In lieu of a weepy, bedraggled recap on my part, our very own "latrell" was at tonight's game. Read on for a superb recap of the loss that was. Enjoy.
"Just knowing his character, he's a fugazy guy." - Tim Thomas on Kenyon Martin, 2004
This brilliant quote underscores my main theme of the night. In going to my first game at the Izod Center, I found out the truth that us Knicks fans already knew. The Nets won tonight, and the Nets are probably the better team right now, but they will always be the fugazy franchise of the tri-state area.
