So there are a lot of soccer fans around these parts, and BTD threw out the idea for a pool.

Yahoo has one where you decide the winner of each game and you get a bonus for choosing the score as well (this is an option that can be turned off). All you need is a yahoo account and you are good.

The five reason I love hockey are:

1) Speed. No team sport has the speed that hockey does. Football, basketball and soccer cannot compare to the way hockey is played

2) Rivalry. We all still see it, everytime WJC or Olympics or Canada/USA  comes up a GIF gets thrown up in a thread. The Canada/Russia rivalry goes back 30 years and everytime Canada and Russia or Canada and USA play, its national pride on the line.

3) Street hockey/shinny As a kid there was nothing better than coming home from school and pulling my net out of my garage and start shooting at the net. The other neighbourhood kids would come out and as per usual an impromptu game of pick up ensued 

4) Playoffs. The Stanley Cup playoffs are, in my opinion, the hardest cup to win. 82 game season then 4 best of 7 series to win "the cup". There is just something about watching those series' regardless of who is playing and getting into it.

5) Being at the game. If you asked me my first game, I couldn't tell ya. I think it was against the Jets, and I think the Leafs lost.  However, going to watch a game, especially living in Toronto, is somewhat of a big deal. I cherish every time I can go and yell GO LEAFS GO and cheer on my team.

You big bunch of jerks.

At the end of the day, you guys don't give a crap about this team. Oh your PR dept may say.. Sure we want the team to succeed, NO YOU DON'T. Sorry, I'm wrong, you do, just for the playoff revenue. You don't care if the Leafs ever win a cup.

We all hate JFJ, but the jerk did have a plan. He went to the board and proposed, yes the GM went to a "board" and proposed his plan of how to run the team. He wanted to build. In 2004, he wanted  to tear this team apart and build. What does this board say? NO! They want playoffs... NOW!

You guys hire a schmuck like Richard Peddie, who may be a great mind for business, but he has NO business meddling in hockey affairs for as long as he did.

So to end this, I have only thing left to say, to every member of the board, and the pension plan (Mom, I know you will eventually get this, I'm sorry)...

With both LD and Jared in town this weekend, we have talked about this in the chats, and thought this would be a great weekend for a PPPPN!!

So apparently this has to be 75 words long, so let's try to fill this up.

So far, Jared, Furcifer and myself are in. 

So I went to my first Marlies game tonite, and I gotta tell ya it wasn't bad at all.  The Marlies won in overtime after Timmy Stapleton scored  his second of the game, he also added an assist.

The Ricoh is, to say the least, small.  Any seat in the house is prolly an equivalent to Air Canada Club seat at worst.  It isnt a bad environment for the price of admission.

A few game notes to pass on:

• Rosehill is a nutcase
• Tim Stapleton is freakin fast
• Oreskovic and Deveaux are MASSIVE!
• Pogge wasn't overly busy, and looked shaky
• Phil Oreskovic is awesome, I really wanna see him in the NHL next year.  After the game he stood by the bench to fist pump everyone and when Stapleton came he hugged him and picked him up.  Everytime he came on the ice he tapped Pogge with his stick or gave him some props.  After the game he went right to him.  They seem to be good friends.
• I was yelling for Hollweg to "Hollweg" someone... he didn't.
• Stralman got kneed by Mike Keane, he was down for a bit but got up and came back

I think I am going to grab some playoff!!!!!!1 tickets should they clinch (syracuse was losing in the 3rd, if they lost they clinched)
