Not the ideal time to pimp this event, what with our favorite hometown nine circling the bowl like a crushed spider in a wad of toilet paper. BUT: we've still got a shit-ton of ballgames ahead of us. Not the least of which is the annual series in America's Finest City against our passionately hated rival, the much sadder-sack San Diego Madres.

And lo and behold, the fanfuckingtastic Hamilton's Tavern is hosting a drink-ride-drink event for the businessman's special getaway day game on Thursday, June 18.

First pitch 1:05. Imbibing starts much earlier, then we hop the brews cruise down the short ride to the Puppy. Just 15 bucks on top of the $30 field-level ticket so it's a screamin' deal. Let's pack this fucker and show what's left of the Pads fans how we roll.

So, on first glance I'm familiar with...none of these guys. ~~Two~~ A running back to compete with Forsett for the 3rd-string spot. Two linebackers - possible insurance for Hill leaving. One DE and one O-lineman. Update: the 5'10", 232 pound Roehl projects as a fullback (h/t A'Seahawks_Warriors).

Kind of a short list. I wonder if this is all the UFAs that will ultimately be signed.

I'm sitting next to NFL Draft Scout analyst Rob Rang at the moment. Of the six, he singled out Bennett and Moore as players to watch.

Bennett's brother, Martellus, plays tight end for the Cowboys. Michael Bennett has the talent but hasn't always shown consistency, Rang said. Moore is a fast and versatile runner with better straight-line speed than current Seattle backup Justin Forsett, according to Rang.

Sounders' Fredy Montero Under Investigation for Stalking, Sexual Assault

Wow, that sucks:

A woman called the King County Sheriff's office this week alleging that Seattle Sounders FC soccer star Fredy Montero was stalking her, two law enforcement sources said Thursday evening.

According to a law enforcement report about the incident, the 23-year-old woman told police on March 31 that she saw Montero in a car near her home in Sammamish. The report stated that she feared for her safety because Montero allegedly had sexually assaulted her in Bellevue the week before on March 22, which she had reported to the Bellevue Police Department.

Montero did not accompany the team to Toronto for this Saturday's game. A Sounders spokesman said Montero didn't travel with the squad because of illness.

Dude, how stupid are you? Allegedly.

And here I thought this whole "Seattle soccer renaissance" might last awhile. Shit.

The final decision was Seattle.

And there was rejoicing throughout the land! Other than... Minnesota and Ohio.

Wow. I assume "we" overpaid, but as long as the dude doesn't get injuried, drop balls, get in fights or get a DWI, he'll probably be worth it.

Not exactly where you want to be as you go about figuring out whether to draft San Diego State pitcher Stephen Strasburg with your No. 1 overall pick. If Strasburg isn't taken by the Nats, who will want to do some negotiating on a signing bonus before the draft, then the M's have a clear shot at the pitcher.
