Newman and Jenkins out for Sunday
Nick Eatman reports that Newman is most probably out against Jets but Mike Jenkins will also likely be sidelined due to an undiagnosed injury. Here is the link to the main article -- Link Here
Now, the post also quotes Jerry Jones saying that there is more to Jenkins than the Stinger/Neck Injury that we have been hearing all pre-season.
Would we be starting the season on a sad note? I certainly hope not. Hopefully, we sign a corner sooner rather than later in the season.
They caught up with our offense
TO and the other receiver(s) said once during the mid-season that the defenses have caught up with the Cowboys offense. Garrett should have listend to him. It's too late now. Huh, a long painful wait till the next season.
Something has go to change, someone has go to go.
PS: 75 words to post this article??? After such a pathetic loss?? Do you really think I am having anything left in me to say after tonight's game??
Its not a Black or White situation (no pun intended)
Much has been made about the TO and Witten situation since early this week. I posted a comments on one of the fanposts but thought it might make a good fanpost.
So here is my rant:
I think it is not a black or white situation that we are facing now. I have seen guys side on TO and I have seen guys side on Witten and then I have seen guys blaming the OC and the HC. I am yet to see someone who can pin point the QB and point on the key to winning games. As TO said, I can’t throw and catch at the same time. Well, why ain’t we saying anything to/for our star QB.
I love Romo and will continue to be his fan despite of how this season unfolds but I feel that majority of blame falls on Romo’s shoulders. Garrette calls a play which have more than one reads. As the ball is snapped, how the read is made and who gets the ball is Romo’s call.
A good QB should avoid getting stuck in a rut. That is a predictive offense. I am saying this because I am not privy to all the game plans that are/were called but from what the numbers and the film tell me, TO and other WRs were wide open on more than one occasions when the ball was dumped to Witten. If he does not trust TO or other wide receivers enough to get them the ball under/not under pressure then we have bigger problems here. May be that is the reason why we are seeing a “not so effective” offense this season as opposed to last season. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that getting the ball to TO would bring us a notch closer to winning. It’s proven statistically and otherwise. Is it that hard for Romo to understand? I agree TO is being double teamed and Romo has been criticized for throwing the picks but I thought Romo never cared about the stats so why now? In this, I have found an answer to my own questions – “Why are WRs on other teams that are double teamed still scoring points” – because their QB finds the way to get the DARN ball to them. We still got time, I hope Romo realizes that. Any team can win on any Sunday Romo. And he has to remember that a QB is rated only based on his games after December (well somewhat but you guys get the drift right). He needs TO as much as TO needs him. If he is budding with Witten, then we are doomed. If he has gotten too comfortable/scared of the pressure and is throwing balls to Witten anyways, we are doomed. What is the gist here? Get the DARN ball to your WRs and please note I said “WRs” and not just TO. I really do not remember Crayton making any plays this year. Not that he cannot. Just that he was not thrown the ball to. This is very disappointing.
And now for all Witten fans (including me) – Just because a guys plays with a broken ribs, just because a guy appears humble and strong on TV, just because a guy puts up a “team first” banner on his face does not mean he would not have an alterior motive there. Don’t think I am blaming Witten but everything (stats, films, experts, werders) kind of make a point here………
All said and done, I hope we “finish” today.
So long….
Schefter: Sources say Adam Jones out for season, maybe career
Sorry for a cross post on Dave Halprin's post Adam Schefter of NFL reported this news a while back:
The neck injury that Dallas cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones sustained at Pittsburgh is so serious, it has ended his 2009 season and could end his career, a league source said Wednesday.
When Jones suffered the injury Sunday, his body went numb for two full minutes. Jones spent the early part of this week visiting with neck specialists, who are sending him on to more neck specialists.
Jones will undergo further examination in the Dallas area, and also is trying to schedule another meeting with another neck specialist in North Carolina.
Those who know Jones say he is "definitely done for the year" and he could be done for his career, which would be a massive blow to Jones and another one to the Cowboys.
Done for his career?
Roy Williams (11) probable as well
First Barber than Ware and now RW11 is listed as probable. Just got the update from DC.com
Wide receiver Roy Williams also popped up on Friday's injury report with a foot injury. He did not practice Friday but is listed as "probable."
Link to the article on DC.com. Thanks to Rob Phillips for this update.
This definitely raises some concern on the pass front going into Sunday nonetheless? Anyone with more details on this??
And then I think, what am I so happy about?
Explosiveness, Swagger, Fire, Hunger what have you - all these words describe the way Packers and Saints are playing MNF. The evening has just become a little wild for me. I am wondering if I got complacent a little too early with the Cowboys comeback. I cannot help but compare the intensity of this game to the boys vs 49ers game we saw yesterday. In all honesty, looking at the way these two teams are playing here tonight, the Cowboys game from yesterday looks like a slow motion play. Is it me or is it MNF?
There is no explosiveness, there is no breakout play making speed, there is no swagger in our team this season and even if some claim we have regained all those things, better hope its not too late.
Koseir went down again. Newman is on the verge and god forbid if he pulls his glued groin again. Tony Romo is still playing with a dinky pinky. Wit is playing solely on his wit. Owens seems to have some connection between his mouth and his feet for sure but its seldom syncs up. Felix "the cat" is banked for the season. These are facts. Cold Hard Facts. With everyone else from the Wall street to the Main street asking for a bailout, is there a place where I can go ask for a bailout for my team. I am not taking away anything from the Cowboys mind you, they have, they are and they will keep fighting hard but sometimes it just doesn't seem to work out. And for those sometimes, I sit here and wonder "what am I so happy about?"
