who bats leadoff?
Right now it seems no one knows much.
1. ???????
2. Tulowitzki (as long as he has the year he had in 2007)
3. Todd Helton (once he is 100% healthy)
4. Garrett Atkins or Ian Stewart
5. Brad Hawpe
6. Carlos Gonzalez
7. Luis Gonzalez
8. Chris Ianatta
Bottom line is that they cant make a desition till spring break. Right now
there are 3 canidates. Clint Barmes, Jeff Baker, and Ryan Spilborghs.
My guess is that the rockies will switch the three till they see which
hitter is the best fit. Someone needs to step up.
If anyone figures this one out tell me.
Atkins or Stewart at 3rd
Does anyone know who is the starting 3rd basemen? They both have power. But Stewart is much better than atkins at defense. He covers more ground and will stop playable balls from rolling into the outfield.
If Atkins gets the spot will stewart play left?
If Stewart gets the spot Atkins cant play left. Will he be Heltons backup?
Are the rockies considering moving Garrett Atkins to Starting 1st basemen. If so what will Helton Do?
luis vizcaino: bargain or bust?
Im from Denver, and after Luis Vizcaino suffered the worst season of his career i have trouble believing he can bounce back to have a seasons like he did in 2007.
In 2008 Vizcaino played 34 games less than he did in 2007. He only won 1 game compared to winning 8 games in 2007. When Luis is pitching there is a 1 in 5 chance he will give up a home run just in one inning. His ERA was a disapointing 5.28.
On the flip side stats show he is capable of coming back from a bad season. In 2003
Vizcaino had a 6.39 ERA. In 2004 he bounced back with a 3.75 ERA.
If Luis Vizcaino stays healthy there is a good chance he will have a steller season. Vizcaino is an average middle innings relief pitcher. He has an over powering fast ball and will strike out lots of batters. He will get the job done late ( if he is healthy).
Luis Vizcaino is not consistent and will have a good year or a horrible year.
