Revenge of the Birds A Case For Marc Bulger As Quarterback For The Arizona Cardinals

As we all know, and particated in many discussion about, We need a QB REALLY BAD. I've stated here before that I'm not in favor of trading for Kevin Kolb. I think he skilled, but the price is too high and I think he still has kinks to his game that need to be worked out (aka Leinart-esque). But I wanted to make a case for the other guy on Larry's wish list: Marc Bulger.

Bulger is Kurt Warner approved and has been tested vigorously by the many defenses of the NFL, and he's passed with flying colors. He plays the same game as Warner (reads the defense well, accurate, quick release, and spreads the ball around), he just doesn't play at as high a level as Warner did.

So would you be for or against signing him?

I think he would be a good stop gap to develop John Skelton, and he would give this team the best chance to win over the other available QB options, and I think that's paramount on a team where the core players are either in their primes or are getting close to retiring. I think the only real downside is that he is injury prone. This team has too many big needs (i.e. OLB, OL, ILB) to give up high, early round draft picks for a player like Kolb. So let me know what you guys think, for or against?

Revenge of the Birds Could Michael Adams potentially switch positions?

I was thinking about this after the Rams game, and after watching Michael Adams get harassed all day by Marc Bulger, It almost makes sense to make a switch to safety. He's much smaller than a prototypical safety, but he's  too small to be prototypical at any position, so stay with me here. lol He's fast enough to play CB, but in reality he's a liability there, so maybe not having to always play man to man coverage every down would benefit him and could put his skills to use elsewhere. We all know he's got a lot of heart and he plays well against the run, and a good tackler as well.  He's fast and could do well playing over top of receivers instead of the man to man that burns him so often. And wouldn't it be cool to see Adams rush the passer like A-Dub? Kind of like a pocket sized A-Dub. lol Hell, he would probably be a better back up at MLB than Highsmith. He would have to gain some weight though.

Revenge of the Birds Would anybody be interested in starting a 'play book' thread?

I saw this on the Field Gulls page just before they played us at home. They called it "Building a Play Book to Beat the Cardinals" and it was a small string of posts of plays that their fans designed to beat the Cardinals. I thought it was really cool, and wanted to start it on RotB, but I have absolutely no idea how to do it. I figured if somebody on here knew how to and wanted to start this, it would be a pretty cool feature for the RotB community. I'll post the link to one of the pages after the jump to show an example. Again, I would do it, but I'm not what you would call "computer savvy." lol

Revenge of the Birds Is the O-Line a Concern for Anyone Else?

Seems to me that something has to be done about the offensive line, and done quickly, particularly before the Seattle game. Everyone knows the Cards struggle in Seattle ( just 2 wins since they came to the division ), and with the pass rush that they have, I'm just not comfortable with the offensive line. The interior of the line seems to do good on passing plays, but they create enough holes on run plays. My biggest concern is the outside linemen (tackles). They constantly struggle against the pass rush, and don't provide enough protection for Warner (which the line is supposed to be tailored for). Despite the continuity the line has, the skill just isn't there. I for one feel that even though Herman Johnson is a rookie, he may be needed in the line up. He's unpolished and lacks the experience, but he's a huge body that could be an asset against the pass rush. If we ever want to see an improved running game and establish that balance on offense, it has to start up front. (Just to note, this has been my opinion on the line since last season, minus the Johnson factor, and I'm not just jumping on media band wagon.)

So comments and concerns on the topic? I want to know what you guys think.
