A's in Hi-Def?
So I just got a new Hi-Def TV and I'm wondering how many, if any, A's games will be able to be seen in Hi-Def.
A look ahead to 2007
As the door begins to close on the 2006 season, it becomes time to look ahead to next year, and how the A's will perform.
Player to be Named Later?!
With the non-waivers trading deadline a few days ago, I noticed a few players were traded for "a player to be named later."
Barry Zito Enigma, Solved!
One of the repeating issues with A's fans has been, since 2003, "What's wrong with Barry Zito?" We've patiently waited for him to get his ERA below 3, and be the kind of pitcher who can put up 20 wins in a season. Well fellow A's fans, I think I've solved the problem of Barry Zito.
A's resign Kennedy
The A's have resigned left-handed pitcher Joe Kennedy to a one-year deal.
Dying Boy Brought In To Cheer Up Kansas City Royals
Shamelessly stolen from The Onion.
What other baseball sites do you read?
So what baseball related websites do you like to read besides AN? Obviously there's places like ESPN, Baseball America and Baseball Prospectus. What other ones do you enjoy?
Dan Johnson: Rookie of the Year?
A lot of people have observed how the A's big turn around came when Bobby Crosby rejoined the team. While Crosby definitely helped invigorate our lineup, I think there's another piece that's often overlooked: the phenomenal bat of Dan Johnson.
Blez: AN and SportsBlogs suggestions
Blez, I hope you don't mind me putting together a small list of quirks about AN. :)
BP tidbit on Mulder/Haren/Calero/Barton deal
I just saw this tidbit over on BP:
Joe Morgan in the SF Weekly
Here is the Joe Morgan interview by the SF Weekly. An amusing read that confirms that Joe Morgan is a putz.
Will Dotel need Tommy John surgery?!
In today's edition of Under the Knife over at BP they spoke about Dotel's recent stint on the DL. I'll just paste the relevant portion below. It seems that Dotel might be out for a while. If this is true, his trade value just plummetted. :(
Feliz versus Crosby?
Who would you rather have on your fantasy team? I'm really conflicted on this one. Crosby definitely has more pop in his bat, but I don't think his average will be as good as Feliz.
The A's will stink this year! And I couldn't be happier!
Right now the A's are seven games out of first place in the AL West. Their offense has been non-existant. Many of our players are playing below their level.
And I'm just fine with that.
Should we Trust in Beane this year?
Usually about this time of year, Billy Beane works his magic and makes a few trades that turn things around completely for our Athletics. Will that happen this year?
Clearing the Second Base Logjam
The A's currently have three second basemen on their roster: Marco Scutaro, Mark Ellis and Keith Ginter. When Bobby Crosby returns from the DL, one of these players will have to go.
Who will it be?
A's Screensaver (and a random poll?)
I remember last year there was a computer screensaver that would show recent photos of the A's all year long.
Rate My Fantasy Draft!
So my Yahoo! fantasy baseball draft league was this evening. I think I did pretty good, but I'd love to hear what you think.
Autographs?
I was wondering how much luck people have had getting autographs from the A's players.
Baseball Savant's Oakland A's Preview
I found this interesting preview of the A's. This blog was one of the first people to approve of the Hudson/Mulder trades.
AN Fantasy Baseball is now up and running
I got a tremendous amount of response in this thread about a fantasy baseball league.
AN Fantasy Baseball?
I'm thinking of setting up a free fantasy baseball league on Yahoo.
Excellent article on Billy Beane's transactions
I found a good article on Billy Beane's past moves, courtsey of Baseball Musings.
The A's and the AL West
Last year that A's missed the playoffs by a single game. We did this while the Big Three were more of the Medicore Three.
Tejada returns...kinda
I had a dream last night that we traded Huddy to the Orioles.
Predictions for Next Year
It may not be well known on this site, but I have learned to see the future from a band of Gypsies passing through the East Bay. I've foreseen the moves that Billy Beane will make in the off-season. Here now I share them with you, gentle reader.
Just a clarification
I used to go by the name of B. Green...
