This is relevant to the fanpost about baseball and homosexuality. I would have posted this link there but the thread has kind of died down.
It's interesting to see both the teammates and fans reactions to a pro athlete coming out.
Beat Writer criticizes Sabean/Bochy
Finally there's a local beat writer who is willing to criticize Sabean and Bochy. I've never read anything by Kawakami before, but I certainly found this somewhat refreshing

Timmy Two-Times: New Nickname for Lincecum?
I thought we could all use a little break from all the rosterbations and other stress that come along with the offseason, so this is just meant to be a fun fanpost.
I'm sure we can all agree that there are not that many great nicknames in sports anymore. There used to be great names like "the say hey kid", "sweetness", "the great one", and "he hate me" (only joking about the last one.) Nowadays, most nicknames are just abbreviations (A-Rod, B-Weezy) or the players actual name with Y or IE at then end of it (Freddy, Richie, etc. Bochy has become a master of this method.)
Thankfully Lincecum currently has a couple solid nicknames, The Franchise and The Freak. Both fit him well, but I thought of a new one that I like even more: Timmy Two-Times. The name pays tribute to his two Cy Youngs, and plays off the name of Jimmy Two-Times, a character in Goodfellas (go to about 33 seconds in to this clip to see his introduction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD3y43cyddI )
I gotta be honest, I only thought of this after learning that phoenix suns fans call Steve Nash "Two-Time" because of his two MVPs. So this nickname kinda bites off that, which is probably one negative about this nickname.
Oh yeah, there's one major flaw about this nickname: It's probably not going to work after next season because Timmy is pretty much a lock to win his third Cy Young (unless of course Cain wins it), making the "Two-Times" moniker dated. But I guess that means we will just have to use it as much as possible next year.
Anyways, all feedback, criticism, or alternative nicknames are appreciated.
Right down the pike or pipe?
Hey guys this doesn't really have much to do with the Giants but its a general baseball question
