Stampede Blue P.O.D 2nd rd. mock draft- "I am Back"

OK Colts fans I'm back for round 2. Below I posted how the Pride of Detroit 2012 mock draft has gone so far (after the Jump). Now we are on the clock again. This pick is not going to be as easy as the 1st one but I do see some needs for this team at DT, WR, CB, and Safety. If I'm wrong about any of these please let me know, this is just what I see. With the list of talent that is left I'm leaning towards how the Lions draft now and just go with BPA. While BPA may not fill a need it can strengthen a position. Now the players I'm leaning towards is:
So here are some prospects that I can see the Colts going with:
1. WR Alshon Jeffery (Reggie is aging)
2. S Harrison Smith
3. DT Jerel Worthy
4. CB Josh Robinson
5. OT Mike Adams

Now if I missed someone or there is someone else that you all would like more than please let me know in the comments below and as always majority rules..

Also My pick is due by 10 am on Friday so I will need your votes or opinions before than. Sorry for the last minute my work schedule prevented me from getting this out sooner

Stampede Blue Hello Colts fans.. P.O.D is doing a mock draft...

Hello I'm from the Pride of Detroit and we are doing a 2 round mock draft over there and I was givin the honor of picking for your beloved Colts. So I was looking for your opinion I know the pick is gonna be a QB that much is obvious but which 1 of the 2 is your fav. Will it be Andrew Luck or RG3?

Also there is no trading in our mock draft so that is not an option.. I don't think it would be anyways since the need for QB is so great here in Indy.

Also I would appreciate the sooner of the response the better. Since my pick is due in at 11 am est on Monday. And with my work schedule prevents me from waiting til that dead line so I must submit my pick on Sunday night. Now the way I will be working this is majority rules.

I will be re-posting to ask you about who you would like in round 2 I will also give you the results of our draft in round 1 when I re-post for the 2nd round.

So please leave me any comments of your opinions and who you would like to have... Luck or RG3

(I'm gonna try and make a poll if I succeed please vote)

Pride Of Detroit Richardson or Ball?

The top 2 running backs coming out this year is Alabama's JR. Trent Richardson and Heisman hopeful. Then there's Wisconsin's JR. Montee Ball who is also a Heisman hopeful. Now both of them have had great careers besides on their style of play 2 things set them apart. Trent has one national title and is playing for another one this year. Ball is one touchdown away (38) from tying Barry Sanders single season touchdown total record of 39. For whatever reason they are not counting the 5 TD's he got in his final game in the Hawaii bowl (or whatever it's called).

Now T. Richardson stats this yr. look like solid numbers: 263 carries 1583yds 20td's and 6.0ypc +27 carries 327yds 12.1ypc 3td's also let's not forget that he plays for the #2 Crimson Tide and is playing for his 2nd national title

Here's M. Ball's stats this yr. who's stats look stellar 275carries 1759yds 6.4ypc and 32td's +20 carries 255yds 12.8ypc and 6td's. He is playing for a Rose Bowl. The #10 Badgers(Big 10 champs) vs. the #5 Ducks(Pac 12 champs)

Pride Of Detroit Now Here's just a thought!!

What if the Bears do not resign RB Matt Forte? Then the Lions decide to make a run at him. I know the Lions are always looking for ways to improve and considering how they have drafted in the past. Mayhew is not shy of improving a strength. With our current backs of Best, LeShoure, Morris, and Williams, I could so see this happening IF THERE IS CAP ROOM..

This is not saying we need to improve at the spot but just saying if he became available do or should we take a run at him.. We could have a backfield kinda like the Saints do know with Ingram, Thomas, Sproles.

Also this is not me looking into the future this thought just spun into my head while I was reading on ESPN and saw this story http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/7178682/chicago-bears-matt-forte-feel-loyalty-team

Also this quote from Forte had me thinking that the Bears may have just burned/rubbed him wrong way..

Forte I know I'm loyal to my teammates and my team are my guys, but it doesn't seem like the organization is (loyal) to me.

Let me know what you think.. Don't be to harsh it was just a thought...

Here's looking to our playoff run 'cheers

Pride Of Detroit Fantasy Football.. update draft is today 8/27 at 9est

I have created 2 yahoo fantasy football leagues.. They are currently open to the public and needs some players.. I am truly looking for people that will be active in playing so if you are serious about playing here. here are the 2 league ID #'s 610877 the league name is Cowboy Hater Nation and the other 1 is 693832 and the name is The Lions Den..

The 1st league drafts on Monday at 8 pm eastern time and the 2nd 1 drafts this Friday at 1 pm eastern time..

Both leagues are 10 team leagues and have defense players and good scoring.

If there seems to be a lot of interest I may move it up to a 12 team league but that will be the limit...

Sorry that this is such short notice but I have been busy lately.. Also I just wanted to state I have been running and playing for a while so I do have an idea of what I am doing but I am always open for suggestions...

Pride Of Detroit Hey guys ... POD made ESPN Blog again...

Detroit Lions: As archived by Pride of Detroit, team president Tom Lewand told local reporters that no reductions would occur in the "near-term." Here's Lewand's full quote: "We're not going to get into specifics about what the plans are, but at least in the near term, as we prepare for the draft, as we're getting ready, we are not making any modifications. There will be no changes in staffing as a result of the lockout and there'll be no changes in salaries as a result of the lockout right now."

This was on Espn NFC north blog reporter Kevin Seifert

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/27155/assistant-coaches-taking-lockout-hit

I just thought I would post this and spread the good news of more national REC. for the POD

Pride Of Detroit Just for fun.. Would you be mad at this draft

Now I was just sitting back and thinking how great it maybe to actually knock out and lock up the secondary for many years. Plus to get a few role/project/depth guys to fill in. For reasons of not actually knowing who will be available for free agency or trades I will not even attempt to place guys on the team.

1 Prince CB

2 Curtis Brown CB

3 K.J. Wright OLB

4 Nick Bellore MLB

5 Carl Johnson OG

7 Mario Fannin RB

Now I am not discounting the talent of A.Smith or C.Houston and I am also not saying we will not or can not resign C.Houston..

But Just sitting back thinking it would be awesome to have

C.Houston                       Prince

C.Brown                            A. Smith

As our CB's we would have depth and the best Dime package you could ask for..

Now of course I would be extremely interested in signing 1-2 LB's as well as some OL help...

Alright there ya go rip me apart but just remember this was ALL JUST FOR FUN!!!!

Music City Miracles I was looking for your thoughts... Mock Draft at POD

Hello to all here in MCM.. I am a HUGE Lions fan. And over at SBNation's Pride of Detroit I was selected to represent the Titans in our community mock draft. This is the 1st year I've been selected to do this and since I live here in Memphis I figured this team would be my 1st choice and I got it :). I want to do a great job not only for me but for my brothers over here at MCM.
So here is my thoughts of what the Titans biggest needs are please let me know what you think and how accurate I am. In order here is my list:

1 QB- With Collins the only 1 left at 38 yrs old someone has got to replace him. Choices are Gabbert and Newton

2 DT- I know Jones needs a big body to play next to him and really plug the running lanes. so I was thinking Fairly and Dareus will fill this role nicely

3 DE- With Quinn and Bowers you are getting a stud at the DE position and would get a Morgan type player in back2back yrs

4 CB- Peterson and Prince either 1 of them would lock down the other side of the field

5 WR- Jones and Green, These 2 are studs and would really be able to open things up and give TN. A true #1 WR (sorry I just don't think Britt is a #1) I do think Britt will be a great #2 and by all means he needs help out there

Also there zero trading and zero FA signings... And this is a 2rd mock only
So I was wanting to get your opinions on who you would like and in IYO who/what is your biggest need in Titan land.

Please if you would let me know the needs by position as well as in order of how (if you agree with these guys) would like these guys to be picked. (i.e Peterson,Quinn,Cam) and I will take the Best player left to fill these needs. I don't like doing polls simply cause if everyone selects Peterson and he's not there then I will be stuck.

So please help me out guys, so I can do right by MCM and let me know! Thank you

Pride Of Detroit IMO how to fix this lockout...

You always here in ALL sports "business is business" from both players and management (CEO,GM's,Coach's,etc)
Besides the Packers none of the other teams are publicly traded. So they are not required to open their books..

I say get over it..

Now here is what needs to happen..

1.Put a rookie cap in place,

2. Raise the cap by 5%-10%,

3.Improve the safety of the players,

4.Make it mandatory that every player donate 1% of their salary to the former players fund so they can be taken care of,

5.Set up a 401k plan for the players (make them put away 2% of their pay in it and have the owners match it) for when they retire...

Can you image what 2% of their salary would do for the economy???
Lets keep things stupid simple... and just use nice round numbers..

Let's say the avg. NFL Salary is $200K (yes i know it's higher) and there is an avg. 50 players per team (again I know there is more) and there is 32 teams.. that would equal out to be $320m a yr. Now say put that in a basic savings acct. w/ 1% interest per (not sure if that would be for a yr or a month but for this case we will say it was for 1 yr.) They would have made $3.2m...
So how does this help the economy well the bank would be able to lend more money and make interest of the loans people can get business up to real estate again the lit goes on and on..
So in Hind sight fix this CBA and use my advice and lets play some football already

Pride Of Detroit Tiki Barber is coming out of retirement??

Well according to ESPN he has filed paper work to get back into the NFL. LINK-> http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=6193850

The question or questions at hand is this:

1. Do you think he has anything left or offer to any team

2. Besides Dan Synder of the Redskins who is dumb to give a 36 yr old running back that hasn't played in 4 yrs. a chance..

In the link you can also find what A.Pierce said about him.. He basically said he didn't know him as a person but was a "pill" in the locker room..

I am in NO WAY suggesting us pick him up or even giving him a chance. I just wanted to here you all sound off about this

Pride Of Detroit Tickets for games that might be canceled?!

I found this on the NFC North Blog report by Kevin Seifert http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth

Which for me living in Memphis Tn. There is no way I could become a season ticket holder and almost impossible to get to a game between money and distance to the closes NFL stadium which is in Nashville which is more than a 3 hour drive. However I know many of my fellow brothers here on the POD live in Mich. And I don't know 1 fan ANYWHERE that wants a lock out so I am posting this to help spread the word of PLEASE DON'T RENEW YOUR SEATS!!!! For it will only help out the owns be able to last longer in this lockout. This is a little clip I took out of this post.

You can join all the Internet protests you want, but the most direct way to be heard is to hit owners in their wallets. Let's be clear here: By renewing your season tickets on schedule, you're contributing to the league's lockout fund.

So if we are all in an agreement to not purchase tickets than we are hurting the owners and maybe able to get this lock out thing over sooner rather than later!

Pride Of Detroit My draft ideas - To fill our needs

Well we all have our own ideas and thoughts on what we hope and think should happen in the draft so here is mine.

RD.1 LB's Von Miller, Ayers, and CB's Peterson, Prince are the easy picks and we wouldn't be mad at any of these. Well for me it is clear and easy and I truly think that 1 of these guys could fall to us but I know these are slim but I thought I should put them here for my "Dream" pick. But however the 1 that will most likely be is Ayers that will fall to us.  But a good back up plan is B. Harris I like his speed and quickness vs. J. Smith but I do like Smith's size however I am a bit concern when a teams best CB is not covering the best WR on the other team. My pick: Ayers

RD.2 CB R. Dowling is the best choice here especially if we go LB in the 1st. I am also liking the guy from Texas C.Brown he did 6' 180#'s 4.42 40 time plus he played in the pass happy Big 12. So IMO if we get go LB in the 1st then this guy has got to be our 2nd. Here is a link to read up on the guy. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1255303 Also Greg Jones is an option as well  My pick: C.Brown

RD.3 LB B.Carter should be here in the 3rd with him still recovering from injuries and would be worth a look here. Also LB K.J Wright from Miss. St. would be nice here as well @ 6-3 246#'s he fits well not saying he could start but depth at min. Also looking at Demarcus Love OT Arkansas 6-5 318#'s good size and feet. Then there is J.Carpenter from Alabama OT 6-5 313#'s. With Carpenter he would be a better run blocker with being in the run 1st 'bama team featuring Ingram. My pick: J.Carpenter

RD.4 OG Moffitt around here is the consensus pick around here and I am in agreement. However if Casey Mattews is here you have got to consider him as an option. I however think he may jump up to the 3rd rd.  I still will not go against the grain here. My pick: Moffitt

RD.5 This 1 is a bit harder to pick getting some more depth on the Oline is ideal so 1 to look at is Lee Ziemba 6-6 317#'s from Auburn. Playing for the National Champs and blocking for a guy like Cam is a job and a half I like this guy to become a starter with in 1-2 yrs. But another need and guy caught my eye and thats Cecil Shorts III he's 6' 200lb#'s WR from Mt. Union he runs a 4.43 40 time and instead of moving Nate B. to the slot use this guy there instead. My Pick: Cecil Shorts III

RD.7 RB Clay again is the consensus pick here on the POD and I will not go against this pick either. However here is a couple of other picks that we want to consider and that's Da'Norris Searcy S from UNC he's 5-11 216# with 4.63 40 time and Dom DeCicco S from Pit. he is 6-3 232#'s 4.59 40 time. Depth is a big concern in the DB are and these guys could fill in nicely so if Clay is gone we should be looking here I would prefer DeCicco. He is big and fast.  At the end of the day it would be nice to have a bruiser in the backfield. My pick: Clay

Well there is my mock  for now at least until the combine is over. My goal is to get better, fill holes and get so depth.. Well let me know what you think and how well I did.

Pride Of Detroit Well there goes 1 of our FA LB's targets - David Harris

Well according to team sources and ESPN the Jets are planning on using the franchise tag on David Harris.

http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=6095495 <-Link

That kinda sucks for us since we all know that we wanted to do the midnight hour thing and have Jim or Suh on his doorstep with a contract in hand so now leads to the option 2 via FA to fill the LB needs we have. So who do you all think we have a chance or should we target now that Harris will be with the Jets?

Here is a list of some that I have found:

Chad Greenway (MIN), LaMarr Woodley (PIT), Tamba Hali (KC), Stephen Tulloch (TEN), James Anderson (CAR), Thomas Davis (CAR), Barrett Ruud (TB)

I think all these guys would be awesome to get but if I had to pick 1-2 of them I would want Greenway and Rudd.. But I wouldn't be mad at getting anyone of these guys...

Tell me what ya think

Pride Of Detroit How did you all do in your Fantasy Footbal leagues???

I myself did real well.. Played in 1 ESPN league and 6 Yahoo leagues. Won the Championship in all of them but 1 of the Yahoo leagues. In that 1 I placed in 6th place w/ an 8-6 record.

 In my yahoo leagues I had 2 teams that went 12-2, 1 went 11-3 , 1 went 13-1...

Then in my ESPN league I finished 11-2..

I know some are gonna say that it's to hard to keep up with that many but I will tell you it's not that bad 2 websites and you make a mental note to check in on Tuesday.. If possible try to check back briefly on Friday or Saturday.. Do the best that you can to draft the same team and try to stay loyal to the ones you thought at the beginning that would bring you to the promise land. (and yes there is always an exception to the rule) for an example say you got P.Rivers and A.Rodgers. Pick 1 and ride him til he either has an injury, bye week, or is in a big slump... The exception to this rule is 1 is going against the Jets and the other is going against the Panthers..

So post up and tell me how you all did in your league(s)

Pride Of Detroit did you all see this...

This came from ESPN blog...

During a discussion Thursday about the Miami Dolphins' Wildcat offense, Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham threw down the proverbial gauntlet. As transcribed on the Lions' website, Cunningham said:

"All I can say to Ricky Williams -- I want him to know this -- if he hits one of our DBs in the back on a crack block, then I'm coming on the field. I mean, he's had a couple of knock outs, but they've been not legal. I'll just put it as that."

What exactly is Cunningham talking about? Here's how the NFL rule book defines a crackback block: "At the snap, an offensive player who is aligned in a position more than two yards laterally outside an offensive tackle, or a player who is in a backfield position at the snap and then moves to a position more than two yards laterally outside a tackle, may not clip an opponent anywhere, nor may he contact an opponent below the waist if the blocker is moving toward the position where the ball was snapped from, and the contact occurs within an area five yards on either side of the line of scrimmage."

In the Dolphins' Wildcat, Williams often lines up outside of the tackle if he isn't the running back to take the snap. Cunningham can be a colorful character, and so most of what he said Thursday should be considered in the context of fun rather than a literal threat. But it never hurts to publicize the potential for a penalty against an opponent, even if it's delivered in an over-the-top manner.

Thought I would share this with you all.. I thought it had a bit of humor to it..

Pride Of Detroit No you do not fire the coach...

There is NO NEED WHAT SO EVER TO EVEN BRING IT UP... and here is why to just name a few

1. His 1st head coaching job he gets, is w/ the 1st team in history to go 0-16
2. His rookie season he had maybe 1/3 of decent to good players
3. He had a ROOKIE as his QB
4. His QB goes down for the yr. and misses 5-6 games in his rookie season (which we all know it is crucial learning time.)
on to this season

1. Got a few better players but still many glaring holes (LB,DB,OL) just to name a few..
2. A couple of starters on the D are injured/banged up (Levy,Delmas) and using (imo) an overrated LB (Follet)
3. Got veteran players NOT grooming (J. Peterson) the younger guys on how to play at 110%
4. The Starting QB goes down in the 1st half of the 1st game. and missed 4-5 games
5. QB comes back and gets hurt again..

6. Some players heads are just not in the game or have completely "checked out"

Just think about this while you ponder your thoughts.. Where would the Colts, Chargers, Patriots, Jets, Eagles, Giants, Packers, Saints, be w/o their starting QB... I will give you a hint where we are NOW!
So even tho the coach is responsible at the end of the day...You must always take into account the different variables through the season..
SO PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE WITH SUGAR ON TOP (OR KOOL-AID) stop talking about firing the coach when you are not even taking everything into consideration.

Pride Of Detroit Incase you missed it... early mock draft if the season ended today

I ran across this today and thought I would share it with my fellow P.O.D'ers. This is from the Bleacher report and I thought it was interesting to see that they are thinking a lot how we are when it comes to next yrs. draft. With us taking Patrick Peterson 3rd overall and then Rodney Hudson, OG, Florida State with 34th overall.

Personally I like the picks I would like it if we would get LB Greg Jones from MSU instead but I also think upgrade on the O line is a need as well. But for some odd reason they also have him slipping to rd. 2 going to the Broncos at pick 48..

The 1 thing that boggles me though is how did the Patriots get the 33rd pick and why are we a picking ahead of the Panthers and the Bengals in the 2nd round. When we are picking behind them in the 1st rd.  If anyone knows the answer please let me know...Thank you

Below I posted the link to the site so you can check it out yourself

Pride Of Detroit Just a couple of things a read over at ESPN that you might like to read

So since I only get to read about that game... Between work and not having the Sunday ticket... So in my reading I saw these 2 little bits and thought I would share this just in case you may have missed it.

  • Nice line from John Niyo of the Detroit News: "The Lions can't even win a hair-pulling contest right now." Niyo was referring to defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh being penalized (in error) for tackling Cowboys tailback Marion Barber by his hair.
  • Hair-pulling: Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was called for a horse-collar tackle of Cowboys tailback Marion Barber on a key second-down play early in the fourth quarter. In fact, Suh tackled Barber by his hair -- a completely legal play that was confirmed on the FOX broadcast by former NFL vice president of officiating Mike Pereira. The Cowboys should have faced a third down from their 10-yard line but instead got a new set of downs from the 5, culminating in Miles Austin's 5-yard touchdown reception to extend the Cowboys lead to 28-19. Schwartz's livid reaction was completely justified.
  • and here is some of the links... http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/19903/wrap-up-cowboys-35-lions-19
  • http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/19910/bbao-brad-childress-status
  • http://detnews.com/article/20101121/OPINION03/11210335/1126/rss14
  • It just goes to show good calls or bad calls CAN change the out come of the game and the refs need to be more on top and get better...Also by making some changes to the review process the coach's won't be so scared to throw their flag. I also think that WCF needs to do something to get our team off the "WE CAN SCREW THIS TEAM OVER" list..
  • Well there ya go and yes I know you can't blame the refs and all that good stuff just thought I would spread in the info I saw.

Pride Of Detroit Really starting to dislike ESPN Writers

http://espn.go.com/nfl/preview10/team/_/name/det

I read this and I got kinda P.O.'d. I know they always go w/ the sexy picks but come on guys we have improved a lot and we may have to win via shoot out 49-47 scores or something like that but to just put us at the bottom of the league. There has been to much improvement for us to be 4th in the NFC North. Sure they make some valid points and all and our new secondary has yet to play together. When all our players are on the field at the same time we could be one of the top defenses in the league...

Before you blast me let me just say these couple of points

1. I have a lot of faith in the Detroit brass

2. I just stopped smoking crack (just kidding)

3. But I do drink a lot of Honolulu blue Kool-Aid

Ok now let the bashing begin!

Pride Of Detroit Never to early to look into next yrs draft

I have gone through Rivals list of the top 100 prospects for this coming season, and I have complied my list of players that would best fill the needs we have right now. You will notice there is only LB's, DB's, and OT's on this list because this is where I feel we need the most help in. I know most of you would more than likely would agree with this as well. That is purely based on seeing what everyone is talking about so here is my list.

Here is the web addy if you wanna look for yourself.

http://collegefootball.rivals.com/photofeature.asp?fid=33125

Greg Jones LB Mich. St. - This one could be the next R.lewis. #4 on the list
Gabe Carimi OT Wiscon. - 6'7" 327lbs sr.
Patrick Peterson CB LSU - 6'1" 222lbs jr.

Rahim Moore SS UCLA - good ball hawk 10 picks last yr.

Von Miller LB Texas A&M plays in 3-4 don't seem like a good fit

DeAndre McDainel SS Clemson - good nose for ball 100 tackles 8 picks

Aaron Williams CB Texas - 6'1" 195lbs jr. nice player maker
Quan Sturdivant LB UNC - 201 tackles in 2 yrs. solid LB
Dont'a Hightower LB 'Bama - Questions here w/ the torn acl but will have to step up if the tide are gonna compete
Vontaze Burfict LB ASU - 6'3" 245lbs soph. plays w/ a lot of emotion (i.e Delmas, Suh)
Jason Pinkston OT Pitt - 6'4" 305 lbs sr. blocked for L. McCoy and Dion Lewis has only missed 1 game
Anthony Castonzo OT BC - 6'7" 295lbs 4yr starter has not missed 1 game has played both left and right tackle
Travis Lewis LB Oklahoma - 6'2" 232lbs seems kinda small to be a starting lb but he is very quick
Prince Amukamara CB Neb - This guy here I think is gonna be the next Revis. #46 on the list=shutdown corner
Marcus Cannon OT TCU - 6'5" 350lbs practiced against DE J. Hughes and didn't allow a sack last yr
Kory Williams LB Southrn miss - 121 tackles 8.5 sacks 3 force fumbles last yr.

Ras-I Dowling CB Virgina - 6'2" 205lbs 1 of the best CB;s in the ACC
Akeem Ayers LB Ucla - 6'4" 254lbs last yr he had 2 pick 6, 75 tackles, 6 sacks, 4 F Fumbles
Bruce Carter LB UNC - Doesn't seem to be a starter in the league but does get in the backfield 18.5 tackle for loss in 2 yrs + 7 sacks

Here is looking at next yr and competing for the NFC North crown...

Drink up this new batch of Kool-Aid it sure is goooooooooooooooooood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pride Of Detroit Trying to figure something out at LB...

Now the 1 thing I am trying to figure out is why our we having such an issue at the weak side LB spot when we have a guy like Landon Johnson on the roster. With stats like has when he was a starter for the Bengals he should be starting for us. The facts are we need someone to fill this role and he is the best to do so. Sure his stats was not good in Carolina but then again he was buried on the depth chart by better players. WE DON NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM!!!! So if someone has Gunthers phone # please drop him a line and tell him he would be the best answer at this spot.

Here are the stats the 4yrs he started in Cincy:

Or you can go to the site and see yourself

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/stats?playerId=5621

2004 CIN 16 87 60 27 2 2.0 2 0 0 0 0
2005 CIN 16 86 60 26 2 0.0 1 0 0 0 0
2006 CIN 16 114 80 34 5 0.5 3 0 1 2 0
2007 CIN 16 109 71 38 4 1.0 0 0 0 0

Pride Of Detroit This just came to me tell me what you think

Could you image if this happened.... and from all the different sites and rumors I have been seeing this is not to far

fetched...

1. Draft Suh at #2...That is if the Rams do the smart thing and draft Bradford of course... Now our DL is set and

ready to rock it

2. Trade for Gaither... Better than drafting Okrung cause you truely do not know what you will get in the draft... You

may get an O. Pace or you may get T. Mandrich.. And at least you know you have a proven starter and stud at LT (as long as there no major injury)

3. Sign/Trade for Sims.. Now the OL transformation is complete (Brackus, Gaither, Sims, Chilus ya I know I spelled

it wrong Riaola...

4. Draft Rolle in the 3rd rd.. Now our DB's are set for the most part... who know's we may sign Pacman and he will

have NO issues and he returns to the player he was when he was with the Titans...

We maybe competing for a playoff spot next yr.

Let me know what you guys think!!!!

Pride Of Detroit With all the different senerios out there here is 1 that i haven't seen yet

What about a trade down w/ the Bills who do need a QB. Swap #1 picks and get their 3rd and 4th rd's. and this is my mock if that would happen. They have the 9th overall BTW

1. E. Thomas S

2. D. McCourty CB

3. A. Jones DT Syrause

3. J. Shipley WR

4. T. Gerhart RB

4. Adam Vlatoski T Texas

5-7 BPA

IMO that would fill many holes and give us some room to due some real damage the D would be set the O would be almost set.. Will need to get some better OL but you can only fill so many holes a yr. Rome was not built in a day or even a yr. ( and I am not talking about Jim Rome either).

So chime in and tell me what you think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pride Of Detroit Reasonable possible offseason moves for 2010

Here are my thoughts on what the Lions should do this off season. Let me know what you think.

1. Trade the 5th pick and RB. M.Morris to SD. for Cromartie

2. Sign RB. Thomas Jones to back up/start and teach K.Smith

3. Draft rd 1 DT. McCoy or Suh, which ever one is left rd 2 CB K. Wilson rd 3 WR J. Shippley rd 4 RB J. Bell (Wayne State) the rest of the draft fill needs and or best player left.

4. Change the defense to a 3-4 the Lions would have a really good core for this w/ LB's Sims, Foote, Peterson, Levy. plus w/ the addition of the new DT (which either 1 is going to be a monster) Hill and Avirl the front 7 would be as solid as anyone's in the league. Detroit already has a great safety (Delmas) and if they can pull off the trade they would have 2 good CB's move A. Henry to safety and use Buchanon at the nickel.

The object here is Defense wins championships, and if you can stop the other team you will not have to throw it 30+ times. That way you will not have to worry as much about a shaky OL cause you now can play ball control and next yr. you can fix the OL. If the Lions put this plan in to work, there would be 2 good RB's and new blood at WR to take away the double team away from Calvin. Follow this plan the Lions will be 8-8 at least if not playoff bound.
