Gilbert Arenas available?
Editor's Note: I have trouble believing this because the anonymous opposing team GM is probably Danny Ainge (Marc Spears worked for the Boston Globe for several years), and Ainge is pretty outspoken. But hey, I'm sure Ernie Grunfeld is trying to gage Arenas' value. He wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't. -Mike.
Also says the Wizards are "open for business" for trades. Very
interesting.
NBA's Most Overrated Players
Among Charley Rosen's NBA's most overrated players are Gilbert Arenas, Kevin Garnett, and Chris Paul. His arguments for each player lacked any kind of depth. Rosen basically just made up a list of players he does'nt like and then named a few of their weaknesses and put a negative spin on things they do well. The same could be done for any NBA star.
Washington favorites for Marbury?
I'm still trying to figure out why this would make sense for the Wizards.
"We're going to start making calls, and we'll monitor the situation, but the teams like Detroit, Oklahoma City, Memphis and Portland - the teams with a lot of [salary] cap room - will be doing the big spending in free agency," Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld said Tuesday. "The whole situation will shake itself out, and we'll see what presents itself and carefully go from there. I expect this to be a drawn-out process."
"There's a certain way you say it," Jamison said. "And let's be honest: Some of it is not their fault. This is the first time a lot of guys have been in this situation and the expectations were very high of those guys. Granted they didn't perform the way we would've liked, but you can say that about some of the vets. We didn't perform the way we expected. It's all right to beat 'em down but you still have to give 'em a pat on the back and let 'em know that we still love you guys. Those are the things that will hopefully make them better. The most important thing for our young guys is to know that this should be the most serious summer of their careers because you never know what's going to happen."
From the Washington Post. Antawn Jamison on Gilbert Arenas' comments to Mike Wise yesterday. Also this is the first time I remember Antawn publicly admitting that some of the veterans have not played well too this season.
"Things could be looking up soon"
This is an encouraging article from NBA.com. At least someone has hope for us.
Not Good.
Antawn Jamison may miss Friday's game. Nagging injurys that tend to pile up, thats what happens when you run your 32 year old into the ground for 38 minutes a game.
P.J Carlesimo Fired
Hopefully the Wizards will follow suit when they realize this season is quickly turning into a disaster just like the Thunder's is.
No Monitoring Minutes
Eddie Jordan is not conciously limiting Butler and Jamison's minutes. Sigh.
