Ladies and gentlemen, your tentative lineup for tonight's game. Try to hold back your cries of exultation and temper your expectations of FLAWLESS VICTORY. This powerhouse lineup is guaranteed to positively SPARK with hits. (Now excuse me while I go cry into my soup. . . .)

The Sox play their final three games on the West Coast this weekend, as they face the Seattle Mariners in a three-game series. After this, it's no more than one hour westward for the Sox—so that...

What three servings of Blue Jay Fricassee does for a team's stats

+

Three servings of Yankee pot roast is certainly quite nutritious, and always enjoyable, but it was just a bunch of bloated calories compared to the Sox's meals over the weekend. If you go by Pythagorean wins as your standard, the Sox were on pace for a 92-win season before the Jays series started. Afterwards, their expected win total is now a robust 98.5. Not bad for a three-game series. Similarly, coolstandings.com suggests that the Sox's chances for a playoff birth ballooned from about 60% to 80%, with the big losers being the Indians and the Rangers.
