How does the addition of Mario, and what should be a better defense, affect Fitzpatrick?

We all know how Fitz is a risk taker and that is what originally endeared him to many of us after suffering through Capt. Checkdown. Unfortunately, we saw the ugly side of that aggressiveness in the second half of last season. Does the addition of Mario Williams change any of that?

We all know how Fitz is a risk taker and that is what originally endeared him to many of us after suffering through Capt. Checkdown. Unfortunately, we saw the ugly side of that aggressiveness in the second half of last season. Does the addition of Mario Williams change any of that?

A few of my thoughts after the jump...

I remember thinking to myself after the Oakland game that we got lucky with a few of his dangerous throws that should have been picks, both of them in the end-zone. I wrote those concerns off since he had to try and score every time we got the ball since the defense was unable to even slow Oakland down.

As the season wore on it appeared to me that he was forcing the ball more and more. I figured he thought he had to score at least 30 points for us to win most games once the defense started to really struggle and stopped getting turnovers. Obviously the results of that extra aggressive mentality were pretty awful for him and the team as his turnovers skyrocketed.

So my question is; does a better defense with the addition of Mario Williams improve Fitz's decision making by reducing the pressure on him? I don't think he will ever get to the point of Edwards like conservatism, but if he becomes more cautious with the ball is that a good thing for his game?

What do you think fellow (ecstatic) Bills fans?

Not sure whether to feel bad for Henne or smile because it's the Dolphins.

Should we try and shop Kyle Williams during the bye?

First off, let me say that I love the way Kyle plays the game and that I would never want him gone if we were still playing a 4-3.

With that out of the way I think most of us would agree that he still isn't a great fit in the new system even with the number of 4 man fronts that we run.

I've heard many players from other teams mention him as someone they have to account for so I think it's fair to say that his game is respected around the league. Combine that with him being a PB alternate last year and I'm curious what kind of value he would have to other 4-3 teams.

Assuming we could get a minimum of a 4th for him, would you like to see him shopped and ultimately traded while Troup learns while taking his lumps in this lost season?

 <fieldset class="poll-box">
 <legend>Poll</legend>

Would you like to see Williams shopped and traded this year for nothing less than a 4th?

If Yes, please give the minimum compensatation that you would want for Nix to pull the trigger.

No, his effort and heart are invaluable to this rebuilding project

Yes, he deserves a chance to thrive in a system that suits his talents and the Bills need draft picks.
