Shot or Lob?
After the Vandy game there were numerous comments about missed close-in shots. But it seemed to me like they were simply indecisive as to taking the shot or a lob.
Did anyone else see it this way?
Cats to Midwest Regional ??
Gregg Anthony said this today. How could that happen? They have earned a trip to Atlanta. There would likely be an Occupy NCAA Headquarters movement.
Milestones
There are 3 things I want to see the Cats do -- get to 2000 wins before UNC, win the SEC and then the NCAA.
I've seen no recent discussion about the 2000 wins record, but I just had the pleasure of watching UNC get thumped by Syracuse.
As I understand it, we need to get 12 wins before UNC gets 16. Is that correct? Someone -- who better than Forty ? -- please let me know. And then let's roll.
Xavier & Wall
My goodness! After watching only the first half of the Nike game, it's a simple conclusion. If we can get Henry & Wall, they will rock big time. Especially if we have Hood & Orton. They would surely be one of the most talented freshmen classes to ever have been recruited. Forget the Fab Five, enter the Fabulous Felines.
We can only hope that they realize how special they can be if they decide to play together. The glue is Cousins -- because he is already committed. That just might be sticky enough. He's the real deal.
Cross your fingers Big Blue Nation, and hope.

Block or Charge??
It was great seeing Puke lose again today, especially when one sees the way they play. They don't guard, they flop! I would love to see the stats on how many times they do this compared to other teams.
Is it just me, or does Puke get more of these calls than any team possibly should?
Does ratface actually teach them to get it right? I don't think so. The refs simply give them the calls because they don't want their AMEX cards pulled.
Top 25, What does it mean now?
Watching the games and ratings this year has led me to the following conclusion.
Each year, being in the top 25 means something entirely different than it did the year before. Why? Because of demographics. There are --each year --so many more talented young players that any number of schools can recruit the 5 players needed to win at the highest level. (I'm no genius, but it is pretty simple.)
As I sit here watching Puke get stomped by CLEMSON!! - it proves that the supposedly best can be beaten by any number of lower ranked teams.
So what does that mean to us? We are definitely not a top 25 team, but it would be OK for now to believe we are a top 30, 40, 50 or 64 team. Sadly, that seems to be in doubt and it breaks my heart.
I do believe that we will be back, but it will never be as easy as it was in years past. All of us need to have patience and hope that Gillespie's recruiting and coaching will turn the tide -- hopefully sooner rather than later.(so much for patience:>) His coaching can only be accurately evaluated after the recruiting problem is solved first. The players we have now may be great atheletes, but too few of them are great basketball players. And that is our problem. It's a 5 man game with only 1 coach.
We have to wait -- and that is sooo hard to do, especially for us older folks.
LHL Forum
I checked out the LHL forum today for the first time in a while. It only reminded me of why I haven't done so lately. It is so full of negative BS that I can't imagine why they don't fix it. It can't be good for their business to simply tick off the UK fan base.
Thanks a bunch Tru, for providing "Tru(e)" UK fans a place to read the positives and negatives without the absolutely stupid stuff.
Longtime
Zone! What Zone?
Well heck, I finished writing my post below before I knew that the rules require at least 75 words. So these first few words are just fill. Oh well, I'll eventually learn. In the meantime, see my question below.
I read Ken's "Different Breed Of Cat" article and had to laugh. I remember another coach who refused to use a zone defense, and then when he finally did -- with great success-- he decided to call it something else.
So who was the coach, and what was the team called? For a hint, see my username.
