Minor League Ball 2010 MLB Draft Picks for Fantasy Keeper League Potential

I know a lot of people use this site to find minor leaguers for their fantasy leagues and I am one of those people.  Curious to see some of your thoughts on maybe the Top 10 players from this draft for fantasy baseball.   I think mine would be:

1. Bryce Harper

2. Jameson Taillon

3. Manny Machado

4. Anthony Ranaudo

5. Nick Castellanos

6. Stetson Allie

7. Drew Pomeranz

8. Zach Cox

9. Zach Lee

10. Chris Sale

Who am I missing? Who needs to be up there that isn't? Who needs to be higher/lower.  I love learning from all of you guys who delve much deeper into the draft than I do.

Minor League Ball Jonathan Singleton Scouting Video - Phillies

From Community Member Loop:

Here's a video I shot the other day of Philadelphia Phillies 1B Prospect Jonathan Singleton.  It shows three at bats of his, a strikeout, a groundout and an RBI double. You can see his approach a little bit, as well as him getting fooled and also connecting in these three at bats.    He wasn't as big as I expected him to be, maybe I'm just used to watching Ryan Howard.

Minor League Ball Buster Posey called up by Giants...

It's been confirmed by the other Buster, Buster Olney from ESPN.  The Giants have called up top prospect Buster Posey.  Word is he will play first base for the time being.  He's the first of the super stud prospects to come up to the bigs this season.  What does everyone think Buster will do from now until the rest of the season in the bigs? What are some reasonable number expectations for the youngster from Florida State?

Minor League Ball Jenrry Mejia Video

In case you missed it from earlier today, here's video of Mejia in Mets camp just blowing people away.  I know a lot of people were looking for video on him, his delivery, his follow through, etc etc etc.  I don't know if it screams reliever to me, but it is a bit unorthodox to me, but you be the judge of that I suppose.  Lots of movement on his fastball, that's for sure.

Minor League Ball Lets talk about Pedro Alvarez...

So Pedro Alvarez has been hyped up for years.  He was the 2nd pick overall in the draft last year after a loud career at Vanderbilt, had the famous contract problem and eventually signed with the Pirates later than the last minute.  He got a bunch of bad press, but came into spring training and seemed to turn it all around, hitting homers and impressing just about everyone in camp.  Now in High A ball, Alvarez is off to a .245/.341/.494 with 14 homers and 55 runs batted in and a 69/36 strikeout to walk ratio which equates to striking out at 25% of the time rate.  He seems to either suck completely or blow up with a 6 RBI game.  Has anyone seen him in person this year, or does anyone have any deeper insight as to what the future may hold for Pedro? Is it going to be a Mousatakas type of thing where he blows up in the second half and goes on a tear or is there someone out there convinced he'll never do much in the batting average department?  I'd like to hear what people think....

Minor League Ball Logan Morrison out two months

Has a fracture in his wrist and will miss 6-8 weeks.

That stinks, he is one of the prospects I was really looking forward to following this year, I guess the silver lining is that he will not be out for the season.  Hopefully he comes back earlier and picks up where he left off.

Double-A Jacksonville's Logan Morrison is expected to miss 6-8 weeks due to a small fracture in his right wrist.

Morrison was injured when he reached for a throw at first base and got his arm tangled up with the baserunner. The injury lessens the chances that we'll see him in the majors during 2009.

Minor League Ball Trevor Cahill's First Start...

Anybody catch Cahill's major league debut vs Anaheim? I see he had 5 walks and only 1 strikeout, which are both pretty bad, but interested in hearing how he looked otherwise.  What was his velocity?  The break on his pitches? His secondary stuff? I live on the east coast and didn't get a chance to see the game.  I tried to go on Oakland message boards but they weren't talking about the game, just crying about last year and a bunch of other crybaby crap

Minor League Ball What do you not like about David Price?

I have been reading about Price and all his wonderful attributes for so long that it seems like so many on this site feel that it's a foregone conclusion that the guy is going to be the next Sandy Koufax or something.  Let me first say that I own him in my main keeper league AL only, so I hope all you fanboys are right, but I still want to pose this question to everyone.  What do you NOT like about David Price?  What about him says to you that he will not be successful or what will cause his downfall? I'm not talking about injuries, injuries can happen to anyone.  I mean from what you've seen so far, what do you not like.  Discuss....

Minor League Ball 2008 Draft Picks Signing Lists....

I know Baseball America normally puts up a page where it lists the picks in order of round and then puts in bold if they have signed their with the teams that drafted them yet.  Is that page up yet?  Have any of the newly drafted 2008 players signed on with the teams that drafted them yet or is it still too early?  I remember last year there were a few guys who signed the day after the draft, and I'd be interested to follow players from this years draft who have already signed their first contracts.  Lemme know if there's such a page yet or if anyone knows if any of the 2008 draftees have inked a contract yet.

Minor League Ball Ian Kennedy Dominant in return to minors

7 1/3 Innings

1 Hit

No Runs

No Walks

8 Strikeouts

58/90 pitches went for strikes

Hopefully Kennedy can just gain some confidence down in AAA and come back and perform well on the big stage in NY.  I for one am rooting for him.  Maybe he just wasn't trusting his stuff with the Yankees and went back to it tonight?  In any event, Kennedy will be back up in the big leagues in no time if he can keep progressing like he did tonight.  Big first step for him.  I didn't think he should have been sent down in the first place
