Cowgirls Release T.O.

Amazing event transpires this evening with the Cowgirls releasing T.O. I am shocked given all the talk that had come out of jerry jones about how there was no way he was being released. What I really hope is that the Cowgirls are not beginning to learn to stop signing these types of guys. I always thought that after they traded for Roy Williams giving him a major extension and $ that there was no way they would ever re-coup that investment if he stayed a number 2 receiver, knowing that TO would never accept that role. So there it is. The Cowboys have jettisoned TO and making Roy the #1.

As for TO, I hope his time in the NFC east is finally complete. As much as I despise TO, he is still a great player with a lot of talent. I am glad we wont have to face him twice a year. I would never want him to be apart of my team. I think he would cause Eli to regress or cry in the corner (which would be a regression of great magnitude). Oh god, maybe the Foreskins will sign him. My gut tells me he ends up in Cincy. Too tired to pontiifcate much now, but I think there will be some lively BBV discussions on this topic tomorrow.

Table of Kerry, Kurt and Eli Stats

I know stats so not tell the whole story, but I think there are some interesting pieces to think about here. Blue Gonz made the statement that Eli would never be as good a QB as Eli. This is not something the stats tell other than Eli is much better a taking care of the ball which has resulted in more playoff appearances than Warner. Comp pct, yds and TDs are certainly in Kurt's favor, but on a great Rams Team, I don't think they made the playoffs 3 of his 5 years leading that team. And they had Marshall Faulk nad a core of excellent receivers when playing in one of the worst divisions in football history (outside of the 80s/early 90s run for SF).

TO a Free Agent?

I would never advocate signing TO, but the idea of him becoming a free agent might actually add more supply to the market allowing the Giants to have a better shot and maybe a cheaper shot at whoever they want to get.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3833575

Anyway, I saw this and thought it might be a great opportunity for the Giants in the WR market.

I will say, I do wish the Cowgirls keep him so that they can keep shooting themsleves in the foot (No Plax pun intended), but I have a feeling they will do that anyway.

Ed may have been right

I just saw this on MSNBC and I remeber Ed (I believe it was him) speculating on whether Wade might be the 3rd coach sacked after a post-Giants ass whooping.

http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/20607408/

I would be surprised if this happens, but where there is smoke there is fire. I have to think Jerry is not happy watching the Cowgirls not play up to their potential and with Jason Garrett already on the staff, it might happen sooner rather than later.

Today, the Mets something and they have not even played a game yet. They won the tie-breaking coinflip wiht the brewers to decide where a 1 game playoff would be played in case of a same record at the end of the season tie.

While I hope iot never comes to that. Still, I will take any win the Mets can get right now.

DeAngelo Hall last night

Not sure if any of you saw the s**t show last night that is the Oakland Raiders defense, but two thougths came to mind.

I was a pretty big advocate of signing DeAngelo Hall. Obviously, I am an idiot. He continually got smoked by a rookie WR Eddie Royal (although damn fast) and at no time during that game to he seem to care that he was getting destroyed. I am glad Reese di not listen to me. Too bad one of our division opponents did not pony-up for Hall.

Gibril Wilson may regret the move. Ok, I know he got paid beau coup bucks to leave for Oakland and The Bay Area is a nice place to live, but suffering for the next 5 years with an an owner that changes coaches like he changes underwear is going to be miserable. That misery is contagious much like winning is.

So other than some obvious giants related thoughts, I am wondering how a program like this could ever turn it around. It is going to take more than a new coach, more than a few new player, maybe more than just watching old Al kick the bucket. What would be your plan to turn this team around over the next several years?
