McCovey Chronicles Joe Nathan?!

From ESPN's Rumor Mill:

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that closer Joe Nathan could be traded to the Brewers in the coming weeks. The Brewers just lost closer Francisco Cordero, who signed a four-year, $46 million free-agent deal with the Reds. Nathan, 33, is set to become a free agent after the 2008 season. The Twins could replace him with either Pat Neshek or Juan Rincon. If Nathan becomes available, the Giants -- Nathan's original team -- are considered to be another team that would pursue him.

Not sure if this would be in our best interest, but have to say... I'd love to have Joe Nathan back on the team.  Just gotta keep pipelining young talent to Minnesota.  How about Lowry for Nathan?

McCovey Chronicles Another bullet dodged - Matthews Jr. to the Angels

FOX Sports reports that Gary Matthews Jr. has agreed to a 5 year / 50$ mil. contract.  Combine that with Juan Pierre's signing with the Dodgers, and we're looking good so far.

Just sign Barry already!

McCovey Chronicles For All You Dodger Sweaters Out There

Since the AS Break:

  • The Dodgers are 1-13
  • Have been outscored 29-81
  • Have scored or 3 or less runs 12 times in 14 games
  • Been shutout 3 times
  • While Brad Penny has tried to throw Kenny Lofton under a bus for defensive miscues.
  • I'd like to sum by saying....  all of you who have been blowing the Dodgers' this year.... NEVER RESPECT THE ENEMY.  And do some research before you proclaim a team, "ELITE".

Please use thread to post derogatory comments about Dodgers.  Thank you.
