"One source said the Golden State Warriors tried to acquire Yao last season for center Andris Biedrins(notes), but Houston balked."

Here's a link for the box score and they also have a live stream, Jeremy Lin with 18 points so far.

"Newly acquired Jason Richardson is starting at shooting guard, with Redick coming off the bench. But Gilbert Arenas
also can play the 2 as can Quentin Richardson. Hedo Turkoglu can do spot duty there.

Some names bandied about in a deal for Redick have been
Indiana’s Jeff Foster or Portland’s Joel Pryzbilla or Charlotte’s Nazr Mohammed or DeSagna Diop (yikes). Their salaries align."

I would love for Reddick to be in Warriors uni and give us some much needed consistent outside shooting. What do you guys think, they're looking for a big man to help out Dwight..maybe Amundson?

Can We Get Beasley?

Just thinking out loud here...The Heat have been trying to get rid of Beasley for awhile now and I was just wondering if you guys think he would be a fit with the dubs and what it might take to get him. Sorry if someone already posted on this topic.

"Golden State Warriors guard Anthony Morrow will replace Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose on the sophomore roster for the 2010 Rookie Challenge, to be played Friday, February 12 at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Rose was excused from the Rookie Challenge in consideration of being named to the Eastern Conference roster for the 2010 NBA All-Star Game and his participation as defending champion in the Skills Challenge on All-Star Saturday Night.

Morrow, in his second season out of Georgia Tech, is averaging 11.5 points and 3.6 rebounds in 36 games for the Warriors."

Hopefully he still makes the 3 point shootout!!

Golden State Of Mind Morrow or Belinelli?

So the more consistent playing time Anthony Morrow gets, the more I love this kid. Same goes for Marco Belinelli, before he got injured he was playing well on both sides of the court. So the question is, would you guys rather have Anthony Morrow or Marco Belinelli? The Warriors back court is unbelievably crowded and it doesn't seem possible for Marco and Anthony to get solid minutes while they are both on the roster. I know their games are not exactly identical, morrow being a better shooter vs Marco's play making ability.

Here's the packed back court:

Monta Ellis

Jamal Crawford

CJ Watson

Anthony Morrow

Marco Belinelli

Marcus Williams

Matt Steinmetz writes: link

Bottom line is the Warriors have too many players on their roster 6-foot-6 or under and getting minutes for both those guys is not realistic. And you get the sense if Warriors coach Don Nelson goes with one guy one night and the other guy the next night, that won't be good for anybody.

All in all, Morrow and Belinelli are too similar, at least insofar as the Warriors are currently constructed. Morrow is a better shooter, and Belinelli is a better playmaker, but they both can have a similar type impact on the game when they've got it going.

So what do you guys think!?

Golden State Of Mind Ben Gordon to Golden State for Al Harrington Trade Rumor?

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=9997

Over at Hoopsworld I found this short little trade rumor about Al Harrington for Ben Gordon written by Bill Ingram.

This one actually has an outside chance of happening. The reason is pretty obvious, as the Warriors need some help now that Monta Ellis is out, and Gordon is as good an option at the point as Ellis would have been. And Gordon can certainly run and gun the way Don Nelson likes his teams to do. On the Chicago side, not only do they solve a major headache by getting rid of Gordon, they also clear up some of their log jam in the back court and acquire someone who can really push this team to the next level in Harrington.

so what do you guys think of this trade rumor? could ben gordon be the PG that the warriors need to fill in for monta's injury, or more importantly how would this move pan out for the future?

rumor that ellis wants to move to the knicks, probably wont happen considering the knicks are over the cap already and are trying to save up for 2010 to make a run at lebron or wade, however this is Mike D'Antoni and who better than monta ellis for the fast break?

Golden State Of Mind Article on Jackson

Hey guys i found this article on ESPN page 2 that i thought was pretty cool. it just argues why stephen jackson makes a great captain. if someone already posted this, feel free to delete this.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=jones/071005&sportCat=nba

...But Nellie's really onto something by naming Stephen Jackson as a team captain.

That's right. Pass the Guinness 'pon the left-hand side, because this is brilliant. Yes, Jackson's run afoul of the law. Yes, he didn't become a household name until he laid out a row of Pistons fans three years ago. But when you get right down to the nitty-gritty, you'll see that there is no better candidate to be a captain of the Golden State Warriors.

Golden State Of Mind Post Game Conference

I'm not sure if any of you guys saw the post game conference video they have on www.nba.com but i thought it baron and jrich handled themselves really well at the press conference. Those 2 guys are some down to earth dudes and they never got cocky during any part of the interview, staying really humble and cool. I thought it was really funny when baron was asked about his eye 'could you see out of it?' and he said "not during the game i just shot with one eye, coach told me to...coach hoped that me getting hit in the eye will help me with my shot cuz i was shooting too well" i also that it was funny that dirk said the warriors are a confident bunch and if they make a shot they run around like mad men. its called team spirit dirk! something the mavs are lacking right now! anyways boomdizzle and jrich cool cats along with the rest of the dubs.
