I wouldn't be surprised if Love would only sign a two year deal with Cleveland.

I wouldn't be surprised if "league approval"just means they didn't get a cut of the 150,000.

you should watch men in black on an 80 inch tv and sit about an inch away from the screen.

They could have drafted Tim instead of Snell.

I think pau can't be traded until december.
Commented on J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and the Knicks' (non-existent) guard problem on Jul 22 2014, 3:03p
I imagine Pau will come off the bench as part of a three man rotation between Noah, Love and Pau.

that's a pretty weak package.

you know what fuck it. if you guys really think that's taunting then whatever
Commented on J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and the Knicks' (non-existent) guard problem on Jul 22 2014, 2:23p - 3 replies
taunting is Kemp making a fool of Gatling back in the day or AI stepping over Lue.
Commented on J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and the Knicks' (non-existent) guard problem on Jul 22 2014, 2:21p - 2 replies
I wouldn't call that taunting. And let's not pretend we didn't see Shump and Tim toss their phone.

I really don't see what is wrong with this. He thought he hit the shot and it rimmed out.

you seem to think Cole is very good, yet you think he needs to be protected.

he's a good player but isn't a star. If he had more range on his jumper he would be.
Commented on J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and the Knicks' (non-existent) guard problem on Jul 22 2014, 10:08a
Wouldn't just be easier to acquire Thad Young using Bargnani and a pick or something.

the thing about Woodson is he sees the adjustment that needs to be made but puts in the wrong player.

Isola is who bothers me. With his dead man walking schtick from last year.
Commented on J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and the Knicks' (non-existent) guard problem on Jul 21 2014, 10:51p
I honestly believe if Woodson played STAT down the stretch in Game 6 against Indiana we would of made it to the finals that year.

I think teams eventually settled on putting the better defender on Melo and just letting the other one check Shump since he can't consistently win any matchup.
Commented on J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and the Knicks' (non-existent) guard problem on Jul 21 2014, 7:27p - 1 reply
I do find it hard to believe that starting lineup was a negative. They blew out quite a few teams during that stretch and JR was on an insane shooting streak for at least 5 games.

and there a lot more as well.

no one said figurehead. front office execs are involved in roster construction and the allocation of minutes.

the team definitely won more games with him starting last year versus not.

I'm speaking more towards whatever guard replaces STAT.

Not only that, but we are going to run the triple post offense with only one player on the court that can operate from each area.

they don't run that offense anymore.

and you really think Phil won't have a hand in the starting lineup.
Commented on J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and the Knicks' (non-existent) guard problem on Jul 21 2014, 4:01p - 2 replies
That's my point. Phil would rather go big than small. My point has nothing to do with Melo's abilities but rather the abilities and limitations of the players around him and Phil's historical preference in play.
Commented on J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and the Knicks' (non-existent) guard problem on Jul 21 2014, 3:58p - 1 reply
I think this analyzes the wrong thing. We should be looking at what Phil has done in the past versus player stats under Woodson's hybrid iso/DAntoni offense.

well rodman partied during the playoffs and I'm sure rodman did some type of drug.

he could of just meant getting rid of Tyson and Felton.

probably and it was neck surgery so there aren't anyone out there who will do it.

we may only have one pg. Pablo is a year older and probably a year slower.

Reddick was pretty awful and he is decent now.

I'm fully aware of how dynamic it can be. My argument is that you want Melo going against 3s not 4s.

most improve just by getting stronger than they were when they entered the league.
Commented on The Knicks will work out Dahntay Jones on Jul 21 2014, 12:36p - 1 reply
we're going to have to disagree on this. I have never seen Phil go small to the degree you're suggesting and the whole point of the triangle is to make it hard for defenses to zero in on your stars
Commented on The Knicks will work out Dahntay Jones on Jul 21 2014, 12:33p - 1 reply
He also said Bargnani will surprise in his offense, is working out two guards and is painting his mailbox blue and orange.

I don't think it has to do with cap space. He signed two bigs this offseason. I just find it hard to believe he doesn't consider this situation addressed for this season.
Commented on The Knicks will work out Dahntay Jones on Jul 21 2014, 12:22p - 1 reply
that's what I'm saying. Phil's actions speak more toward trading someone for a draft pick. Not a big.
Commented on The Knicks will work out Dahntay Jones on Jul 21 2014, 12:17p
Why would Phil sign Cole over the other available bigs if he doesn't think he can play.
Commented on The Knicks will work out Dahntay Jones on Jul 21 2014, 12:16p - 1 reply
you can't play Melo at the four in the triangle.
Commented on The Knicks will work out Dahntay Jones on Jul 21 2014, 12:14p - 1 reply
but most teams only carry six. we would have to replace one of them with someone who isn't injury prone not cut a guard.
Commented on The Knicks will work out Dahntay Jones on Jul 21 2014, 12:12p
Smith is 7 ft so I'm sure he could handle it in a pinch.
Commented on The Knicks will work out Dahntay Jones on Jul 21 2014, 12:11p
I'm really not understanding this "knicks are unbalanced in the front court/backcourt" thing.

They could easily just cut Ellington and Brown and resolve this supposed logjam.

Bargs shouldn't be the measuring point. The measuring point should be when STAT and JR were inserted into the starting lineup.
Commented on SummerHornets 82, SummerKnicks 79 on Jul 21 2014, 11:27a
Also they did run pick and rolls to the left and right.
Commented on SummerHornets 82, SummerKnicks 79 on Jul 21 2014, 11:21a
I can't believe people are blaming Felton for this.
Commented on SummerHornets 82, SummerKnicks 79 on Jul 21 2014, 11:18a - 1 reply
Actually I believe they were. That was the whole point of Herring's assessment. Shump shoots something like 40% on one side and 20% on the other.
Commented on SummerHornets 82, SummerKnicks 79 on Jul 21 2014, 11:13a
All of them produced more offensively during their careers than Shump has except for George.
Commented on SummerHornets 82, SummerKnicks 79 on Jul 21 2014, 11:10a
I guess so. But if you list the top 10 starting pgs in the game he isn't in there.

Herring was wrong in his assessment though.

We have to remember that Felton was essentially the second option most of his second stay in NY.

we also have a possible cheap replacement in Thansis.

Our offense was not fine last year. The ability to score late in the fourth is what decides whether an offense is good or not.
Commented on SummerHornets 82, SummerKnicks 79 on Jul 21 2014, 12:33a - 1 reply
he's definitely a better shooter and the better player. but I don't think the gap in IQ is so wide that it was holding Shump or the offense as a whole back.
Commented on SummerHornets 82, SummerKnicks 79 on Jul 21 2014, 12:30a - 1 reply
hmm, I didn't know that since Tim was a junior and Waiters a sophmore when they entered the draft.
Commented on SummerHornets 82, SummerKnicks 79 on Jul 21 2014, 12:25a - 1 reply
I really don't think that is the case.

Tim didn't have to do as much as Beal and Waiters especially with the ball. And he was older than all of them when he entered the league.

I hate to say it, but sometimes Shump plays like Tony Allen on offense.
