Thanks to everyone who came yesterday and contributed to the fun. We had a fantastic turn out and serious amounts of delicious food and drink. Thanks especially to saint, mrod, and group, who were so hospitable and welcoming. The afternoon turned out to be surprisingly beautiful (if a little windy).

It was great to be able to put faces to names and I apologize that I couldn't remember them all so I could identify you in the photos. I met so many awesome people yesterday! Please don't hesitate to remind me so I can update the descriptions in the set.

Anybody else having images from yesterday, feel free to add them.

AN Tailgate, Last Call Y'all!

One more day kids! Then we get to see our boys back at home!

I'm so excited, as are we all, I know!

Just a final reminder that a bunch of us will be tailgating in Lot A, between Gates A and D starting at 3:30 pm and going until around 6 pm. We want to wrap things up shortly thereafter so we can be inside for the A's 6:30 pm tribute to the Oakland Police officers we lost on March 21st.

There will be flags and banners aplenty to identify the group, so you should be able to find us easily. If you want to stop by and visit during the game, a number of us will be sitting in Section 231, Rows 6 and 7, Seats 1 through 4. Come say Hi!

This is what we have so far:

Dogfather: Hot Links, small grill, ice, coolers, cups

A table might be nice too if one of you guys with a truck can swing that.

AN Home Opener Tailgate, The Final Countdown

The home opener is just a week away! Let the final countdown commence!

Time to solidify the celebration of this very blessed event. Forgive me if this sounds like a birth announcement, but in many ways, it is! Spring, baseball, laying eggs. Okay, let's hope the last one doesn't happen! So here's the plan. We are joining forces with saint and his crowd, who line up to get in the lot at 1:30pm. I will be doing the same, along with anyone else who would like to help with set up.

What: AN Home Opener Tailgate, A's vs. Seattle

When: Friday, April 10, 2009, 3:30pm to 6:30pm

Where: Left Side of the North Lot (the SF side, all the way forward, look for the flags and banners).

Why: Because...we love us some A's, and each other!

We will need:

- Help with set up.

- At least one grill, and whatever fuel to power.

- Yummy grilling bits. Dogs and burgers, or some manifestation thereof.

- Buns to put those bad boys into (nevermind!).

- Side dishes (horsedervers, crudeitay, and what have you.)

- Bevs

- Help with break down.

I still have plenty of paper goods/utensils from fANfest, so that part is good. As are condiments (yes, yes kraut boys, I gotcha covered!). And don't worry if you can't bring anything, because you'll be welcome regardless, rest assured. Just bring you.

We want to see you there!

AN Home Opener Tailgate...Update!

Hi Y'all!

So the A's home opener is just a month away. Pam5981 and I are considering organizing an AN tailgate to celebrate what we hope is an auspicious year for our beloved team.

I know many of our AN family are attending from near and far. It would would be good fun to get together, share some great food and even greater memories, and conjecture endlessly about the A's chances in 2009.

So our question is...are you in?

Update: Thanks to everyone for chiming in. It looks like we'll have a great turn out! I'm told we can get into the parking lot starting at 3:30 pm, so those of you who can come early, that's your cue! I will definitely be an early bird. I need to check with those in the know about the where, and we will update you in a couple of weeks about that. You've obviously already saved the date, but be thinking about what, if any, contributions you'd like to make in the way of food, bevs, grills, etc. We'll have another poll to nail that down when we update. We're going to have too much fun!

Gather Round AN, Its fANfest!

Just a reminder to save the date for our very own fANfest.

Who: Any and all ANers, regardless of seniority

What: fANfest

Where: The John Lewis Glass showroom at 10208 Pearmain Street, Oakland 94603

When: Sunday, Feb. 8, 12 - 4 p.m.

Why: Because we need some baseball and fun

The boys and I have been working hard to get the showroom PaR-tAY!!111 ready, and I think you'll all be blown away. We've never had a party there we didn't like and we hope you'll like it too. We're going all out!

Leopold Bloom (my favorite and only sign guy) has been kind enough to come up with a banner for us and I have a little glass party favor (thanks again to LB for the help) to remind you of the wild and crazy time we will have.

We'll do another post at the beginning of next week to get the head count and nail down who can do and bring what. I'm excited, and I hope to see as many of you there as possible. Go A's!
