Playoffs Beards
The playoffs season is upon us and I am so excited, every time i watch the NHL Network I am jumping for joy, the sabres are finally in the playoffs, and we are praying to the hockey gods that we make a good run. with the playoffs starting, we are all going to growing out our beards, i know i am. the people that are going to growing out their beards are the 16 teams in the big dance. i was thinking to myself, who is going to have the best beards for this playoffs run? Just thinking about the sabres i thought of possible good beards: Rivet, Tallinder, Montador, Stafford i think, maybe Torres,Miller, Gaustad as well. some that will have some pretty lame beards would be Myers, Connolly, Lydman(i dont think i've ever seen him with a beard). those are a couple of people i thought would have the best/lamest beards. but who else is going to have some cool beards in the NHL, who is going to have the lamest ones, i leave it to you guys.
Who Gets Under Your Skin
Hey guys, so I was listening to NHL Home Ice channel on XM today and they were doing a special this morning on who gets under your skin. There were a bunch of people calling from all over the US and Canada, people were saying Daniel Alfredsson, Scott Hartnell, and I'm pretty sure that most sabres fans do not like these players. I unfortunately was not able to get through the phones but I was going to say Chris Neil. Even though he made the decade team (So did Ty Conklin) The hit on Chris Drury couple years back will always be in my mind, plus they are in our division, and they always have our number, so Chris Neil gets under my skin, curious what players get under your skin?
Nhl Network
I just finished watching nhl on the fly and they were talking about the power rankings, how the sabres made a significant jump, (i forgot the actual number), giving compliments to tim connolly, that he has 10 points in 6 games, and that miller is being ,well, miller. though they said that our defense isn't really that great, that were allowing 35-40 shots a game, which is alot of work for a goaltender during the season, and the offense is not really scoring. this got me thinking, if this is the story for the rest of season, will we be able to go far in the playoffs, if we do get there? just curious what everyone thought
Mark Jeanneret
So i'm suppose to be studying in the library, but as a the typical die hard sabres fan, im alwasy looking stuff up about the sabres when im at the computer. i was talking to my this past week and we started talking about the portland pirates. he was watching a game and absolutely fell in love with rick jeanneret's son Mark, who, this past summer became the play by play announcer for the portland pirates. i couldnt find anything on youtube of him as far the portland pirates are concerned, but i heard some of mark's stuff when he was the announcer for the erie otters
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lZvvNUgiME
video of mark.
anyways, just curious if anyone has heard this guy, and what people think of him possibly filling in for rick when he decides to hang up the mic. i think this would be a great progression as far as sabres entertainment is concerned.
Regier and Ruff
This past summer my family and I had a discussion about Darcy Regier and Lindy Ruff. How both these guys are incompetent on making good decisions, that both of them should leave the organization. But with the recent post about the value of Montador and how this decision was an effective one for our club on reiger's part has got me thinking again. Just curious as to what people think about these two guys handling the organization, cause it seems as if these two are doing an excellent job so far.
