Andray Blatche?

Washington looks very committed to getting rid of the "headaches" they have and are trying to build a legitimate team around Wall. My question is.....do we take on Andray Blatche for the #3 pick? What will it take on our part to make it a no brainer for Washington? I'm thinkin K. Mart and #14. They could definitely use a SG and if it doesn't work K. Mart is an expiring contract. Houston gets a great pick, but has to pay Blatche for 3 more years. What do y'all think?

Ring Chasing Vets

With the trade deadline and the goods and bads of those trades behind us, I want to address where some of the older, formerly well paid, free agent veterans could end up next season. There will be quite a few vets that will be free agents at the end of the season that either have no ring, or crave for that champagne shower one more time before calling it quits. Which vets are satisfied with their careers and take a contract with a "pretender" for more money, or take the vet minimum and go to a "contender" to have a chance at kissing that trophy at the end of the season? I will give my predictions on a hand full of these players and I hope you do the same. You may chose to add other players that I do not list. Here is a list of players I believe can be difference makers on the right team.

Kevin Garnett- Takes the vet min. for 1 yr and plays C for the Heat or Thunder...probably a lock to the finals for that team

Ray Allen- Takes the mini mid-level for 2 yrs from Bulls, Thunder, or Magic...best fit would be Bulls, but they got Hamilton for next season, so maybe Thunder.

Steve Nash- Takes the mini mid-level for 2 yrs from the Heat...probably a lock for the champagne shower for both seasons he's there. Or vet min. from the Lakers...he would love the Hollywood life

Tim Duncan- Takes whatever the Spurs decide to give him....I dont see him goin anywhere...I think he plays 2 more seasons

Antwan Jamison- Takes the vet min for 1 yr from Spurs, Magic, or Thunder.....a stretch PF would be a good fit for Thunder

Marcus Camby- Takes the vet min for 1 yr from Heat, Thunder, or Lakers....good back up C

Jason Kidd- Takes the vet min for 1 yr to wherever Nash doesnt go....good possibilty he stays with the Mavs

Grant Hill- Takes the vet min. for 1 yr from the Bulls, Thunder, or Clips...would be great locker room fit for Thunder.

Lakers interested in Beasley

With rumors surfacing that the Lakers had discussions with the Wolves at the beginning of the season about Beasley and again being very interested with the trade deadline coming up, is this not the perfect situation for the Rockets to trade for Pau? Chris Broussard is reporting that LA could absord Beasley with the 8.9 mill trade exception by giving up a pick or cash, but I would think the Wolves could get something more useful in return. Its no secret that Adelman loves K. Mart and I feel confident enough to say that Kevin would love to play with his old coach and that young and exciting team! A three team trade with Houston, Minn., and LA, would be a win, win, win for everybody!

Houston receives: Pau Gasol, Anthony Tolliver

LA receives: Luis Scola, Michael Beasley, Jonny Flynn (or Goran Dragic which I think LA would push for)

Minn. receives: Kevin Martin

What do y'all think of our boy Chuck Hayes getting a full mid-level offer from Sacramento! Marc stein reporting....20 million for 4 years....I would love to have him back, but I know Houston won't offer that! I know Sacramento needs to spend some money but, WHOA! Does he take the deal? Does he want to play for a contender? Or, does he take the cash? Take the money and run Chuck! Good luck to ya!

Rockets looking to move up?

Sources say Houston, which has the No. 14 pick, is interested in moving up in the draft. One potential partner might be Sacramento, as the Kings are believed to be open to such a move in exchange for impactful veteran help. SI.com

Who would be that "impactful veteran"? Is it worth moving up 7 spots in the draft? What do they do with the other 2 first round pics or do they package one with the player? What do yall think?

I understand that an employee wants to feel wanted by their employer and hopes that they have some kind of job security, if they do their job to the fullest potential, but it is a business. The team has a budget, they have to evaluate talent, they have all that other type of stuff to consider. Shouldn't a player just concentrate on doing his job to the best of his abilities? What do yall think about Kevin's statement?

Vince Carter and his awful contract to get Nash and Gortat? We would have to give up a combo of Yao,Jefferies, Brooks, Hill, Battier and maybe a pick. Probably throw in 3 mil. to buyout Shane so we can pick him up after he clears waivers. Not sure if Vince would be cool coming off the bench or if Kevin tries to keep the peace and lets Vince start. It gives Pat more minutes. Vince would be a big expiring contract next season. What comments do yall have? I may or may not spend hours on the trade machine everyday coming up with different trade options....not only for the rockets, but other teams as well. Example; how scary would it be if SA put together a Splitter/George Hill/Jefferson package for Melo. Not saying they would, but what if?

I use this phrase everytime I hear someone getting the bad end of a deal, but think they came out smelling like roses, only to figure out later on, that they obviously got screwed. The longer it takes for them to figure it out, the better!

ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher discusses the breaking news that Carmelo Anthony wants to leave Denver. Anthony likes New York. Houston is a possibility.

Ric Bucher is discussing the possibility of Carmelo wanting a trade on the Doug Gottlieb Show. There is a podcast on ESPN.com if you want to listen to it for yourself. Ric mentions that Houston has the pieces to do a trade for Carmelo.

With Tracy McGrady (notes) signing for the veteran's minimum of $1.35 million, the Detroit Pistons now have a little bit of a crowded house at small forward and shooting guard.

Sources tell NBA.com that even though McGrady agreed upon signing to be the backup to Tayshaun Prince (notes) and Rip Hamilton, the team is likely to trade away one of them before the season starts.

Prince is the more likely candidate since he is in the last year of his contract. He averaged 13.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game last year.

We need another wing player...i think it would be a good move, of course, for the right price!

Ok people.......Let's see who can come closest to predicting the outcome of where the top FA's will be playing next season! I guess there's no prize except for bragging rights! You can give your reasons why you think the FA will sign with that team, but its not necessary. I have only listed what i consider the top FA's mostly likely to leave their current team. They are....Lebron, D-Wade, Bosh, Amare, J Johnson, Boozer, David Lee. When it's all said and done, we can come back and look to see how many of us got them right....or wrong! Here is my gut feeling of what team I think these guys will be playing with next season:

Lebron- Chicago

D-Wade- Miami

Bosh- Houston

Amare- New York

Joe Johnson- New York

Boozer- Miami
