Minny may be down a few people by the time we play them

This one sounds pretty bad.

Highlights:

University of Minnesota police cited a Gopher linebacker for underage drinking after they broke up a brawl involving several University of Minnesota football players and residents of a house in Dinkytown Sunday morning, according to a police report.

University police officers passing by in an unmarked car saw Gopher linebacker Gary Tinsley “swinging around a wood board during the fight,” according to the police report.

Tinsley ran from the scene “extremely fast” when a uniformed University police officer arrived. The officer fired several rounds of PepperBall chemical irritant at Tinsley, who was undeterred by the measure and escaped by cutting between houses on the block, according to a University police report.

Police returned to the house several times during the evening for calls of similar types of incidents. Other scuffles erupted in Dinkytown throughout the evening, including a tussle in which police fired numerous PepperBalls into a crowd near the McDonald’s at the corner of 15th Street and 4th Street Southeast, according to a University Police report.

Sounds like a crazy night, but how tough do you sound saying you brawled in a place called Dinkytown?

Tailgating at the Blue and White game?

I was wondering if there are any plans in the works for a BSD tailgating kinda thing for the blue-white game? I didn't see any posts about it, but I have seen it mentioned here and there. I will be up unless it's supposed to rain all day. If there's nothing official going on I'm still always up to drink a beer or two with some fellow Penn Stater's.

Penn State makes an offer to Kyle Baublitz.

Penn State just offered a kid from my old H.S. This school is not known for football, when I went there they won one game. However, this kid is outstanding from what I hear. He has offers from just about everyone and this is as a Junior.

My favorite part of the article:

"(Kyle) was running through the house trying to find me," said Steve Baublitz, his father. "Penn State showed some interest, but we didn't know they were that close to offering. That one kind of snuck up on us."

"I was shocked," Kyle Baublitz said. "It was tough to go to sleep that night."

"Penn State's awesome," he said. "The atmosphere and academics and the college football program ... it's a nice place to be."

USC success without honor

Rey Maualuga sexually harrasses Erin Andrews after the rose bowl game:

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog/dr_saturday/post/Rey-Maualuga-smooth-operator-just-don-t-tell-E?urn=ncaaf,131994

When I watched the rose bowl I saw for myself that USC was the best team in the country and will probably go down as the most successful dynasty in college football. I also witnessed a program that I would not want to be associated with. They were uber-cocky and reminded me of some of the Hollywood douche bags I would expect to see on MTV. The various gay little dances performed on the sideline and the very early celebration while our players struggled to come back.

Anyway, this story just further irritated me with the USC program and made me happy to be a Penn Stater!

We must start recruiting Barry Sanders Jr. Now!

Yahoo just had a small story on him and provided a link to this youtube video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wP4SVVTCKT4

This is just one play shown twice but he looks just like the old man.

Genes are crazy things.

Hopefully there was a mutation that will somehow draw him to blue and white.

Orange parking lot?

I bought some tickets for the Illinois game this Saturday and they came with a parking pass for the orange lot. I have always parked in the yellow lot so I have a few questions.

Is there much of a difference between lots?

It looks like I have to come in a different way from the entrance to the yellow lots. How do I get there?

Probably dumb questions but I don't want anything to interfere with my tailgating.

Thanks, Mark
