With B-Diddy gone, Stephen Jackson was asked to carry a team of youngsters, journeymen, newcomers, and scrubs. Jack dida so with heart and courage every game, in addition to playing 40 minutes a night and often being the team's primary ballhandler. Despite all this Jackson put up career highs in ppg, apg, and rpg, and even increased his fg% from last year.

Jackson had many unforgettable moments in the season, including his game sealing three vs. Minnesota (above), his two great games against the defending champion Celtics, including in the huge upset the day after Christmas, his back to back eyeballings of LeBron late in the loss to Cleveland, his heroic effort in that bs loss to the Spurs, his first career triple-double against Phoenix two nights later, and finally his great back to back games against New Jersey and Dallas in March. These moments, and the heart the captain played with every night is why Stephen Jackson is the Warrior Wonder of the Year.

The Warriors finished their short April schedule at 4-4, closing out with nice wins against the Hornets and Jazz as well as a dissapointing loss to the T-Wolves. Keep in mind though, the Warriors played almost all of these games with 7 or 8 people, a tough task for any team. Unfortunately, April will be the last month of the Warriors season, as they fail to make the playoffs for the 14th time in 15 years.

Kelenna Azubuike clearly was playing hard for 09/10 minutes as he went on a tear in the last month, putting up season highs for points (20.8), rebounds (6.8), assists (2.1) and blocks (1.1). Because of the rash of injuries, Buike also played in 44 minutes a game in April.

After a promising February, the Dubs regressed to their earlier season form, finishing March with a 5-11 record. During this month the Warriors were officially eliminated from the postseason, although that was a foregone conclusion by early January. With so many Warriors hurt, the rest of the season will become a showcase for those fighting for burn next year.

Once again, Jackson leads all Warriors in WW's for the month, despite missing the last three games in March. While Stack Jack's numbers were down from his unbelievalble February, he was still able to put on a show in consecutive games at the Roaracle against New Jersey and Dallas. In those two big wins the captain put up 60 points, 17 assists and 14 rebounds. On a side note, Andris Biedrins has not gotten a Warrior Wonder since January 7th; what a fall off he has had.

Warrior Wonder Standings (February)

The Dubs finished 5-5 for the month of February, their best month of the season, and first month in which they finished at or above .500. The Warriors accomplishments this month (coming soooo close to LA and San Antonio, beating Utah and Portland) were marred by the final week of the month in which they lost back to back games against the Clippers and Bobcats. The Warriors appear to be tanking at this stage of the season, which is fine with me...at least it gives us a glimpse of who will be doing what next year, but it could further damage their 20-39 record. This month saw a trend of non-Warriors making their way into the standings.

February Standings

Stephen Jackson 3 1/15

Ronny Turiaf 1 1/15

Anthony Randolph 1 1/15

Jamal Crawford 1 1/15

Jason Richardson 1

Baron Davis 1

Don Nelson 1

Kelenna Azubuike 1/15

Marco Bellinelli 1/15

Andris Biedrins 1/15

Jamareo Davidson 1/15

Monta Ellis 1/15

Rob Kurz 1/15

Corey Maggette 1/15

Anthony Morrow 1/15

CJ Watson 1/15

Marcus Williams 1/15

Brandan Wright 1/15

All the Warriors were happy to recieve a 1/15th Warrior Wonder thanks to R Dizzle. But none of the Warriors could match Stephen Jackson's production in the month of February as Stack Jack averaged 27.3 points, 8.1 assists, and 5.7 rebounds in addition to shooting 47% from the field and 46% percent from 3pt range. It was Jack who came up biggest in big wins against Utah and New York, as well as in a game the Warriors should have won vs. San Antonio.

By Writer

Hash- Stephen Jackson (1), Ronny Turiaf (1), Anthony Randolph (1)

The Warriors somewhat took advantage of their seven game homestand and finshed January 5-9, their best month of the season. In reality, if a couple more SECONDS had gone the Warriors way, they would be 8-6 for the month. But that didn't happen so the Warrriors overall record stands at 15-33 for the year.

As the Warriors capped off another sterling month with a great game against the Thunder, its time to look at the Warrior Wonder standings for December. The Warriors finished 5-12 in December, matching their 5-12 record for October and November.

Warrior Wonders December Standings

Kelenna Azubuike- 1

Don Nelson- 1/2

This is no suprise, because Bellinelli was our best player in December. He averaged 14.1 points and 3.2 assists, and managed to shoot 45% from the field despite his plethora of off-balance jumpers.

Having nothing better to do, I decided to keep a tally of Warrior Wonders as the season went on. The results are pretty inconclusive. Stack Jack leads the team, which makes sense, because although I believe AB has been our best player, Jackson has been our top scorer and assist man on most nights. Shout out to Tony.psd for making the standings.

Slam did their Dubs season preview today and despite the preview title, they didn't seem so down on the Dubs Looks like we have a new fan. She seems to be optimistic about the guys off the bench like Buke, Bellinelli, and the rookies. I personally love Slam, and can't wait till I see the Monta comeback issue comin up in January!!!! Here's the link:

Ron Artest, Elton Brand, or The Matrix?

At this point, it seems unrealistic the Warriors would be able to acquire Ron Artest (who says he isn't even discussing moving with his agent) and Elton Brand, who will likely be back on a much improved Clippers team.

I'm asking my fellow Dubs fans..what would you put out there for either of these veterans? Acquiring them would take a large hit on our cap, as well as most likely giving up a big name player and draft picks. On the other hand we desperately need the defensive presence these two would provide.

In my opinion, the best option would be to not get hardballed by BDiddy and spend big money trying to lure Marion from Miami. Marion is more suited for the Warriors offense than Brand, and is a more versatile defender than Artest, as he can guard 2-4 easily, and, at times, has guarded PG's and C's. But if Miami gets Derrick Rose, it will be hard to draw Marion from a playoff-looking 3 of Rose, Wade, and Marion.

Just puttin' it out there.
