My brother, father, and I were the first fans into camden yards opening day in 1992. We are in Sports Illustrated, unfortunatly the cover boy is Bobby Hurley from Duke. My first words were "Go O's", no joke. My dad stopped to get a newspaper while my mother was going into labor with me. He wanted to read up on the orioles because labor would have been long and boring for him.

Camden Chat Orioles All-time Entertainment Team

In the dog days of August, or the 2000's, being a Birds fan is hard sometimes but there are some characters that still make it worth watching. Recently, Will Ohman and Kevin Millar, though short tenures, brought laughs. I wasnt alive for the years of Dempsey's rain delay routine or Duke of Earl's classic blowups, but there still have been some funny times which I've seen.

Im wondering, what is your Oriole all-time entertainment team, whether they were good or bad. Feel free to include stories as it may help get us through the rest of the season.

Go Birds

Camden Chat SIMON TO BE CLEARED IN MURDER TRIAL

Story on MLB.com
Things are completely bass ackward in those countries but maybe when/if he shows up, he will be in better shape. Theres nothing else to do in prison except work out, well, maybe in dominican they play baseball, who knows...I bet he's tired of the three hots and a cot and he will come out firing, pun intended. Our bullpen has a very good possibility of being absolutely stacked.

Let's Go BIRDS.

Camden Chat Dodgers put Sherrill on waivers

"Mr Excitement" / "Flat Breezy" sure has taken a fall from grace. One of our better relievers in recent years currently has more walks than K's in 34 innings of work. Although his role has changed I still didnt expect this that much. It is ironic now because our pen has been "good" as of late.

Camden Chat MLB.com~Ripken could return to Orioles as advisor....right

What was that Aerosmith song? Same ol' song and dance? Another speculation I imagine but I guess after our struggles Angelos wont be too concerned about Ripken "taking credit for the revival." I mean, to take credit for something it still has to happen. Dont get me wrong I would love it but I would say a getting a manager is a more pressing issue...assuming Juan Samuel doesn't continue this win streak cough cough...

Camden Chat CHRIS TILLMAN THROWS NO HITTER

Chris Tillman throws a no hitter against the Gwinnett Braves. A walk and an error by Michael Aubrey was the difference. Hopefully he will be able to help 3E with some confidence issues. Its a beautiful thing to see Tillman no hitting someone...especially when these hits that are not coming are NOT home runs. CONGRATS to Tillman and the Tides.

Testudo Times President Mote Retiring Aug. 31

The 12 year run of President Mote will becoming to an end as he has decided to step down. When it comes to his run he has seen Maryland become one of the top Public Universities in the Nation. Not that he will read this but I wish him and his wife well as they go on to do whatever they decide. Your thoughts on Mote as a president, or person or other?

I understand that this is less about sports but it is still pertinent.

Testudo Times Should I be rooting for Duke?

Yes I agree, I uttered those God forsaken words. Here is my logic though. I despise Puke and UNC but it is very clear that Duke is in and UNC is on the bubble for the dance. If UNC wins, they will have a huge win against the best team in the ACC and would have a better chance of getting into the tournament. I would love to see them not make it.

If Duke wins the game against UNC, which chances are they will, Carolina will have another loss and will fall even further. Unfortunately when it comes to these two, all bets are off...If Duke loses however, it will make the ACC look weaker, along with themselves. I think Maryland has got a shot against Duke, especially at Comcast, and would love to see us beat them. I would rather beat them knowing that they beat UNC, because that would look better for us getting an ever so important "signature win." Duke would still be in the top 6 or so if they win until we play them, and it would just look good.

ON THE OTHER HAND, Duke is still ahead of us in the ACC and it was 8 years ago our championship team that was the last to win an ACC regular season title. I would love to have that on our resume and surely a Duke loss against the Tar Heels would help with that.

So the question is, Should I root for Duke on Wednesday when they go to UNC?

The question comes down to is spite really a pulling factor in watching UNC flounder? Never kick a man while hes down, but what if that mean beat the hell out of you while he was standing?

Camden Chat Left Field Sitch-e-ation

There are many people throwing the idea around of trading Luke Scott and putting Nolan Reimold at DH. We know with the injury that we may want him to be off of it as much as he can be but still play him. The fact remains though that Reimold isnt a good enough hitter to warrant him as being our DH, Scott isnt a good enough fielder to play everyday LF, and Felix Pie was good as of late last season but are we really willing to have him playing left everyday?

A lot of people are also assuming that Reimold is just going to give in and willingly accept to be our DH. You can not extrapolate an injury-shortened Rookie season out to the full 162 and assume that he will hit .300, 25, 100. Yes we want him around. Personally he is my favorite player on the team even though he runs like an emu or dinosaur or something else with an extra chromosome, but I will be the first to admit Scott's bat is much better suited for DH. Reimold to first even makes more sense. Less running and the DH spot isnt taken up by his bat, but now we still have the issue of who's in left? And for that matter, who's on first? I dont know, third base.

What do you all think?

Camden Chat What starting pitcher do we want?

I am not convinced on Millwood, Penny is gone, Lowe (who I wanted a few years back is a lot of money), and knowing the history of us being able to land coveted players, i.e. Chapman, who do we really want and see ourselves even getting, keeping in mind that wanting and having a chance to get are two completely different things. Personally, I would like a Ben Sheets or Randy Wolf.

I just really hope that Macphail doesn't wait around for another Adam Eaton.
