Did we ever do these again this year? Like previewing the minor league teams of the Braves? I know we did it last year but wasn't sure if we did it again this year. I fairly enjoyed reading those previews part of it was just to see where all of our players went... So if we didn't do it this year does anyone know where I can find the official rosters of each minor league team? Thanks.

I ran into a conversation/argument with a fellow Braves fan of mine. We're arguing about a couple of things, and I just wanted to know what your guys' opinion was on these topics:

• Do we need speed over power? Is speed more crucial to a team than power or OBP is at this point?
• Is Martin Prado a good leadoff man? Should we go after Juan Pierre this offseason?
• Does Jason Heyward have a power swing? Or does he have more of a gap to gap swing?
• Would you be happy if we got someone like Scott Posednik and made McLouth our backup outfielder?
• Is Werth not an ideal LF for us?

I didn't want to make it biased or anything at all so I'm not going to say which side I'm on in each argument. I think he brings up a lot of good points but I'm just looking to see more Braves fans' opinions.
As a side note, I see a lot of you guys wanting to get Rasmus. And I think that's the perfect scenario for us. But I think STL said they weren't going to trade him recently - La Russa I think it was. Thanks.

Hey guys, as a Braves fan, I thought I'd ask you guys who would probably know more about your former manager Fredi Gonzalez. I'm trying to do some research on possible future replacements for Cox and the consensus replacement coach seems to be Fredi.

Now I'm curious as to what he is as a manager. Is he a players' coach? Disciplinarian? Tactician?
How does he handle his players?
How does he handle the rotation? The lineup? The bullpen?
Does he favor AVG over OBP? Power over speed? What?

I'm just trying to find out every thing I can about Fredi. So if you guys can provide any information, that'd be great.

Like I said, some of the names like Adam Dunn and Matt LaPorta are unrealistic, but I'm just curious what you guys would give up for those bats whether at this point, this offseason, or maybe before this season. I'm not sure how you value them.

As for the next part, where do you think we'd be able to trade these guys and for what asking price would you put on them? Like before, I'm not saying I'd trade these guys in real life but I'm just weighing their values based on the opinions of Talking Chop members. If you think the player is untradable, simply say so. I'm just wondering again... Judge these on the perspective of the offseason because I realize it'd be tough to trade most of these guys during a mid-pennant race.

Does anyone have any experience with MLB.tv and Macs? Im thinking about purchasing a Macbook Pro for college, and I was just wondering how MLB.tv is with Macs.... I'm nervous because I'm comfortable with Windows but I'm heavily leaning on Mac because of the quality and what not... But I'm worried most of my programs will not work with Macs - especially MLB.tv! So I'm just wondering what you guys think (those who've experienced it)... thanks.

What do you guys think of Manny Machado? This is off-topic, and one of my random questions again but still Braves-related. I have both Machado and Salcedo in Danville (Salcedo struggled in Rome and after 225 ABs was hitting .185, so I bumped him down to Danville). Machado was dominating GCL so I brought him up.

Now I want to know what you guys think of Machado. And I'd also like to know which one between Machado/Salcedo you guys believe will be the better 3B because I need to convert one of them now so that they can both be on the field at the same time. Thanks.

I'm asking about the certain slots / signing bonuses in the later rounds. I'm asking for the purpose of my OOTP league because I have no idea how much to offer my 5th rounder, 12th rounder, and 24th rounder. The 5th rounder is a RF from high school and is asking for $2,400,000. Now I know that is way too much because that's what we signed our first round pick last year for (Minor), so how much would a team usually ask from him? And my 12th rounder is asking for $1,500,000 while the 24th rounder is asking for $2,400,000.

 

I just need help figuring out what to offer these guys, and I figured I'd ask the experts over here at TC.

Hey, guys. I need help finding the lineups of our minor league teams. And rotation and bullpen if there is a set one. I'm trying to run a realistic sim league in OOTP and was wondering if you guys have a site or something like that where I could find the lineups. Because the game has a lot of players in the wrong spots and wrong positions. For example, Chris Masters is a Closer and I think in real life he is a starter. If you guys can't, I think I'll just copy whatever the lineup was in their last games. Thanks!

I'm just wondering where you would put some of our top prospects this season... I took most of the names from our Top 20 rankings, but I left some people out. Just copy and paste and just put AAA, S A, or R - Danville or what not.

I'm hearing a lot of sports writers talk about Peppers and his interest to leave Carolian. Us being a team that lacks a solid pass rush, many sports writers are quickly adding Atlanta to Peppers' "Wanted Cities". Along with New York and Cleveland, Chris Mortensen suggested that Peppers goes to ATL.

What do you guys think? Would you be in favor of this pass rusher or are you not impressed with his work ethic (which many Panthers fans are calling him out on).

Personally, I wouldn't mind it at all. In the past two years Dimitroff has been here, he's made two big offensive signings in Michael Turner and then Tony Gonzalez (via trade). Peppers wouldn't be a bad "flashy" acquisition on our defense. With Abraham and Peppers, that should be a very good pass rushing core. That would allow us to bring along Lawrence Sidbury at the pace we want him to. We would still have a pass rushing rotation of Abraham, Peppers, Anderson, Biermann, and Sidbury.

I posted this earlier but the topic since then has been bumped down.

Will we be able to retain Al Horford after his contract is up? Assuming that we lock Joe Johnson up to a multi-year, close to the maximum contract, will we have enough money to sign Horford next offseason? I’m asking because I’m not exactly a cap expert so I’m just wondering if we’d have to move Marvin or someone else’s larger contract to make room for Horford’s extension.

What do you guys think?

Who are you watching in college basketball today that makes you think of him being a good fit for the Atlanta Hawks? I'm mostly a UConn fan, but I watch a lot of Big East play. One person who I think would be worth taking a shot on later in the first round, if he's even available, is Georgetown PF/C Greg Monroe.

Monroe reminds me a lot of Channing Frye with his ability to shoot and his style of play, but if he improves his aggressiveness and drive, he could potentially be a Jason Thompson type of player in the NBA.

What do you guys think? Any players you're keeping an eye on or any prospects you'd love for the Hawks to draft [realistically]? Realistically as in, no John Wall. ;)
