The Hamilton Tiger-Cat have received permission from Buffalo to talk to Bills quarterback coach, George Cortez.
Could be more than just our DC leaving.

Should this make him an automatic cut? My wife is going in for this, but I just can't get on board, now wants his jersey, I'm thinking its gonna be a Marlie Jersey though.

Bluebird Banter Carlos Delgado

Just because the offseason has hit a lull I thought I'd throw this out there.  I read in the Star Mr. Carlos Delgado is preparing for a comeback this year.  He has in no way shape or form been linked to the Jays, but of course I got wondering.  Would you want to see Carlos back in a Jays uniform next season?  Make him the full time DH and maybe backing up Lind at first the odd time, he would be a good clubhouse leader, a big left handed bat off the bench and give the writers something to use a little ink on.  Just a thought.  I know we are trying to go younger, faster, cheaper, but thought I'd throw it out there and get some input on a SuperBowl hangover day.

Let me know what you think

Nick Johnson/Blue Jays

A wrist injury ended Johnson's 2010 season in May, the fourth straight year in which he failed to play in 100 games. He wasn't playing that well, but the plate discipline that is his top skill was still evident, good for 24 walks and a .388 on-base percentage. After trading Mike Napoli, the Blue Jays are back down to a mishmash at first base, led by Edwin Encarnacion. Johnson's OBP would be a great fit for a team that didn't have nearly enough runners on base to take advantage of its power surge a year ago, and may have even fewer in 2011.

Bills insiders maintain that Edwards must win the starting job or else he’s not going to make the team, and the latter sure seems the most likely outcome.

Former Colts back Chad Simpson, who figures in the mix at return specialist, will be given every chance to take Lynch’s #3 RB job.

A thorough exam of the Bills roster but these two quotes stood out. Would like to hear feedback if anyone else reads the whole article.

Another Bill from last year finds a new landing place. Hope it works out since I'm an Argo's fan

Meanwhile, his Team Canada teammate, Nazem Kadri, will be seeking to establish his persona in the minds of Leaf fans across the country as a bona fide candidate for stardom once he graduates to the NHL. In case you've been keeping score at home, the Leafs haven't actually used a first-round pick to draft a true star since Darryl Sittler. Unless you count Wendel Clark. Or Tuukka Rask."

I understand Cox can be a retard, but who in their right mind doesn't consider Clark a TRUE star?

Was hoping he was gone in the offseason, but maybe he'll be gone soon enough. Easier to replace him than DJ or Trent at this point, not that I'm advocating either.

Alex Rios has turned into a $10-million embarrassment for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Never mind that he plays the outfield with a not-so-reckless indifference. Never mind that he has taken his five-tool gifts and squandered them with his lack of passion and apathy. Never mind that the hitting numbers aren't anywhere near where they are supposed to be.

All that pales when compared with his foolish act of the other night, exchanging swear words with a fan after turning down an autograph request from a kid, at a charity event no less. Available in today's technology for all to see on YouTube.

Whether management will see it this way or not, Rios essentially is done as a Blue Jay. Failing on the field can be accepted. Failing off the field reflects a certain lack of character. All the apologies in the world may not be able to correct that.

Eckstein has been called the least talented player ever to play a critical role on two World Series champions, but he is a guy who will do whatever it takes to win, including in the last few days taking a 97 mph Brian Wilson fastball in the gut (he took another one in the arm last night in the middle of their ninth-inning threat), faking out a baserunner and hanging in on a DP while getting rolled over. Eckstein is the best $850,000 anyone spent this winter.

"When you have a player like that, it becomes contagious," Towers said. "He sets the standard. He's so fricking intense. And he has the best in-game instincts I've ever seen."

Buffalo Rumblings Answer me this?

Because TO's arrival hasn't been beaten to death enough, the Toronto Sun had this line in one of its columns today:

Question worth pondering: Without the added Rogers-Toronto riches, do the historically cheap Buffalo Bills sign T.O.?

What do you think about the statement? And for those that hated the idea of games up here in Canada, does the thought that it may have brought us TO make you feel any better?

Buffalo Rumblings Michael Vick???

Sportsillustrated posted this from the National Football Post

"What team will take on Michael Vick?...B uffalo is at a crossroads at quarterback. The Bills need Trent Edwards to stay healthy and be the Trent Edwards of the first four weeks of the season. They have an owner who's not afraid to take chances and is willing to do what it takes to win."

http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/91810-teams-that-might-take-vick

Does anyone even think this is a remote possibility? Would he come in as Edwards backup, and if he falters step in?
