Lookout Landing OT: Drew Carey's GM Idea

Just was watching the Seahawks game and they had on Drew Carey who is part owner of the new soccer team coming to Seattle. Anyway he was talking about how the team will offer memberships to fans for about $100. In turn the fans vote for if the GM stays or gets fired during the offseasons.  What a great idea. How fast would Bavasi be fired if the M's did that?

Field Gulls Camp Update

Well as I get more and more excited for the new season I decided do a small write up on some of the things I expected going training camp and some I didn't. Of course there is many more stories coming out of camp. I just wrote about a few.
With the off season additions of Grant and Russell along with Kelly Jennings entering his second season I expected the Hawks defensive secondary to be great. Well sure enough according to reports and articles about the Hawks camp the defense is looking like an awesome unit. Grant and Russell are proving their worth not only on the field but also off as they help the younger Hawks like second round pick Josh Wilson. This good showing in camp so far should hopefully translate to no more big plays against our secondary this season.
Fullback Leonard Weaver who missed last season with a high ankle sprain is looking to show he can make this team better. So far so good as Mike Holmgren talked about the need to get Weaver out on the field not only give a brake to veteran Mack Strong but also to utilize his great rushing and catching skills. I fully expect him to perform well this season considering his great play so far.
With the departure of Jackson to San Francisco some questioned if the Hawks would suffer. Well thanks to great showings by Hackett, Burleson, Branch, along with all the other talented young receivers the Hawks should be more than fine. The battle between both Hackett and Burleson has brought out the best in them. Hackett was thought to be the front runner but thanks unexpectedly to Burleson finally stepping up a little the battle looks close.
Well that was my little wrap up of some what is happening at training camp. Granted it's probably of old news to the people reading this because most Hawks fans are reading the training camp reports anyway. Sorry I'm a little bored.

I don't know if anyone has heard this yet but Frank Gore  broke his hand is out probably out for awhile. I guess this is good news for the Hawks even though the injury won't cause him to miss any regular season games. Just heard this story watching ESPN.
