Mile High Report The attack of the NFL reporters.

So I watched the Dallas and Broncos game last night... Found it quite entertaining. Like most everyone else though, I was highly focused on Tebow... And why not? Everyone whats to see him... Especially the reporters. They want him to fail. soooo bad.

Tebow ,as you know, went 6 for 7, 91 yards. Pretty good numbers. Don't get me wrong the guy looked a little lost and insecure about throwing the ball... It almost looks like he wants to take off and run cause he doesn't want to fail. he doesn't want that next INT to come. He wants to win. Still he doesn't look confident at all.

Back to the reporters... Tebow today has been attacked by Albert Breer. Yesterday by Michael Lombardi. Interestingly enough both of these reporters come from NFL.com. I find it slightly strange that NFL.com and Network are trying so hard to break Timmy's will and strength to play the game. Breer yesterday tweeted "No way to sugarcoat it -- Tim Tebow looked totally lost on that series" after his first series... Well after that series Tebow looked good, not great, but good. Well today Breer went after him with everything he has.

I just found it interesting they all attacked him after a decent outing. Interested on hearing all your thoughts.

Mile High Report Start Tim and move forward

Yay, one more post about Tim Tebow and how he should start. So you know this post will have no facts! Not one. This will be just "MY" opinion so if you feel like bashing me or calling me a "homer"...Feel free I already know that I am one.

Okay... My thoughts are this. I think you need to throw Tebow into the fire! Seems to me that he learns best by a learn as you go approach. If they keep him in second string to "Develop" him, then he is going to continue to struggle. The more he plays the more strength and confidence he will gain.

My thoughts on Orton... Well if you read any of my post when we got him you know I love him. I want him to succeed...somewhere else. Tebow is the future and needs to be at the helm of the Broncos

Short, sweet, and to the point!

Mile High Report You got your wish...

You got your wish Denver fans! Was it worth it... Of course we know its too early to tell, but I have a hunch this is going to come back and bite us somehow...

Alright its Tebow time. Probably. If anything just to keep the fans in the stadium. Our savior has come, But tell me, what happens if he doesn't win. What happens if he doesn't look like a better QB than Kyle Orton. What happens if he doesn't look ready. Not to mention that maybe our new coach of the future may not be a Tebow fan. He is going to get his chance. The fans won't let him not play. But what happends if the new coach treats Tebow like Vince Young.

I hate to say it, but I don't see Denver being a contending team for, lets say ,another 4 years now. I kinda hope Champ and Dawk get a chance to go to another team just so they have a chance at a ring. Hopefully I am wrong. Hopefully McD doesn't win a superbowl with another team. Hopefully we wont juggle coachs for the next decade...

Mile High Report Thoughts on some players and overall direction so far

Kyle Orton

He is good. Really good. So far though he is not clutch. Trust me I am one of the biggest Orton supporters out there. This year he has proven himself to be a really good Quarterback. Late in a game with the game on the line he just has not gotten it done. Yes, we are spoiled by the Elway, Plummer, even some Cutler comebacks. When we are down in the 4th somehow we are going to win it. That has been the Denver script for 25 years. So far when the game is on the line he has not gotten it done. Does that mean Orton should sit? No, of course not. He is by far the best QB on the team.

Tim Tebow

Since I am logical today I can say this. He shouldn't play yet. When we are losing and Orton takes a sack even though his numbers are insane I even say put Tebow in. Proof that I would make a horrible coach. HA HA! I think he is being handled the right way right now. Let him sit and when the day comes that he starts, he will be 100% ready and will carve up the NFL.

Knowshon Moreno

Is a beast. The guy may only have 1 100 yard rushing game, but without him our team is not complete. He will be a really good running back as long as injuries don't stall him more.

Brandon Marshall... I mean stokley... I mean Lloyd... yeah Lloyd

Josh when you look at the draft this year lets just draft a wideout with Brandon as his first name. Now  I know that Marshall and stokes are gone I just need their names for my little joke. Ha Ha. Lloyd took over Marshalls spot flawlessly. I don't feel that I need to talk to much about this all of our wideouts stepped up and look great.

Our Defense

They stink! Yet somehow they can stop good running teams... And can't stop bad running teams... Thats a big question mark. Anyway, inside all of that stink is a few pleasant smells. Champ and of course Dawk. But my favorite is Joe Mays. For some reason I see a stud in the making here and maybe the player that you should start building your defense around. He is like young Al Wilson out there. Hopefully we can address some areas here in the draft

Josh McDaniels

Needs to be our coach next year. This season has been a disappointment so far yes, but the team is starting to take to the direction that josh is going for. If we start over again, fans are just going to be more and more frustrated and hopeless. Its tough! We are so used to winning. Its confusing to have a bad season for us, but hang in there things are looking for the better.

I don't have much else to say. Oh and I am not the best at grammar and I will be the first to admit it. So for all you english teachers out there give me a break will ya. HA

Mile High Report If Jay Cutler was still a bronco...

I sure most of you all watched the Bears, 49ers game last night. I sure you are all just as pleased as I was to see Jay Cutler throw 5 INTs in that game.  I mean I was so excited for every pick. At the end of the game though I started wondering if Jay Cutler stayed in Denver would his stats still resemble what they do now? It made me wonder if Josh Mcdaniels could even fix Jay Cutler. Don't get me wrong Cutler has an arm. Cutler can make all the throws. Cutler CANNOT win important games.

Stats wise, Jay has some good numbers. He has been pretty consistant with his stats and I do mean all of his stats. They really have not changed at all except that he throws more and more INTs every year.

So really my question is this. If Jay stayed in Denver do you think he would have became better, as in smarter with the ball? Or Josh McDaniels was just spot on when he got to denver and found out Jay Cutler is just uncoachable. As of right now it seems like he is uncoachable.  He shrugged off Lovie Smith and said its not my fault during the game. He is probably calling the plays cause I would run it 2 maybe 3 times out of 4 plays with a guy like Matt Forte.

Not that this matters I mean it is what it is. But I really don't think we would be 6-2 with Jay Cutler under center.

PS Thanks for a good draft pick this year Jay.

Mile High Report Orton is our Starter

This is going to get really old really fast. WE DON'T NEED TO SIT ORTON. I have never wanted the Elway curse to end now more than ever. People I have said this before and I suppose it needs to be said again. John Elway was ONE of a kind. He cannot be replaced EVER. Period.

But Kyle Orton can't throw the ball deep. Actually he can. The guy threw 65 yards in a hail mary against the pats. He threw deep to Brandon Marshall in the first game of the year but it went threw his hands. Oh that TD pass to tony scheffler against the chargers was a pretty deep ball.  Listen this is the scheme that Josh McDaniels likes. I don't think Tom Brady went deep all the time when he first started either. So lay off for real.

Kyle Orton Francise QB? Yes! he easily could be. And he has shown flashes with a running game. Wait didn't John Elway win a few SBs with a running game. What was that guys name again??? TD as in Terrell Davis. Wait what about the 05' Broncos under Jake Plummer. Mike Anderson and tatum Bell combined for like 1900 yards. we made it to the AFC championship that year.  Orton is great in the pocket with time he struggles with pressure. His throws aren't fast, but he is accurate and is capable of throwing the ball 40 yards down field. Sounds a lot like Peyton Manning. Mostly in the part where he is good in the pocket with time and struggles with pressure. I have seen Manning struggle when he doesn't have time to think.

I think Denver fans are too critical of the QB postion we expect greatness to just be there. No development at all. The QB should just be great right out of the draft. Thats why we forced Plummer out right. To get Cutler in there cause he was greater than Plummer already. FAIL. Plummer didn't even lose as many games at cutler did playing with us. and he played longer. wow. I am just amazed at us fans. A few picks, time to get out of town Orton. Really I think you have selective memory right now. Like Elway never threw a pick. Understandable, I suppose, cause he did so well at the end of career. Didn't he have TD at the end of his career?

One more thing. Lets not forget that he has only play 8 games with us. I doubt he has mastered every single play in Josh McDaniels complicated playbook and his complicate scheme.

Sadly I would not be surprised if fans start calling for his head and want Tom Branstater to start even though he would struggle and give us more losses at this point in his career. I can't say I am very happy with Broncos fans right now. almost as a quarter of the stadium was full of steelers fans, Then we want Ortons head. WOW just amazed at how fast people turned...again.

Mile High Report Fluke play BS

I am so tired of hearing about how Denver is only 3-0 because of a fluke play.  You know what my bad. Why don't just use a madden rewind and have denver lose. Oh wait...What about Brett Farve last week. he just lobbed that ball up for grabs. It was an amazing play. Not a fluke. An amazing play.  How about Manning in the super bowl against the pats. scrambling for his life and throwing it up. Amazing play. Not a fluke that they beat the undefeated pats. Even the play where Ken stabler was going down and got it out barely isn't considered a fluke to people.

Which if none of those are flukes then Denver's was not a fluke either. It was a stroke of chance and bad defense on the other side of the ball. WE WON people get over it and we are a GOOD team get used to it.

Ps sorry about the rant. Venting a little bit. people in California suck sometimes.

Mile High Report Adamantium bonded defense.

Weapon X...aka Brian Dawkins, Has made our defense mean, tough, and smart. Dawkins has put pride and confidence.

I have never seen a player with the same amount of love for the game than I have with Dawkins. Lynch was a leader don't get me wrong. But I don't think that Lynch brought out the best out of everyone on the team. Champ is a quiet "lead by example" type of guy. Atwater...led by hits. ha ha. There are leaders everywhere, but none like Dawkins. WOW I really think that him alone would make any defense play harder and faster just by his presence and speeches

My point is this when Dawkins was an eagle I always heard of how  much of a leader he was but I figured he was like Al Wilson type or John Lynch... He is far more. He even came to our punter after a shanked kick and brought him back up.  He not only leads by example, but by words. I heard him talk and I wanted to throw some pads on and go tackle someone.

Anyways... WEAPON-X Unleash the animal. Unleash the Defense!

Mile High Report McDaniels, were you the secret??

So I have been following the Patriots for the past to weeks and guess what... They don't look that powerful. At least not with the same amount of firepower I saw from them for last 5 years.  At the same time I am following my beloved Broncos. I see play formations that seem amazing. (give Orton time) Yeah they have not fired off yet, but they are getting better each week. I noticed it the most week 2 of preseason when Orton with making it look so easy to go through the seahawks defense.( Until the left handed throw)

Now here is my question... was Josh McDaniels the source of the Patriots success? Are we going to see the Patroits start sliping.  ( Brady is good the will never fall to a horriable 32nd team while he is around)

From what I see McD is loved by the team. They all seem to beleive in him. The more Denver wins the more I see them embrace him and the team around them. anyways thats all  i had on my mind.

Mile High Report Orton vs Broncos fans

Alright I admit it we were spoiled! Elway spoiled us. We all expect a John Elway with each new quarterback we get. Orton... is not Elway (of course), but I like him. So far we have 2 wins. No turnovers (from him) and good team management.  How do we repay him? with boos in our home opener. Of course he is not the only victim. Jake Plummer ( who won games) also had to go through this as our quarterback.

What I find odd is I don't remember Jay Cutler getting booed. well until he returned in the bears broncos preseason game. Jay cutler has a worse record than either Plummer or Orton. He lost games and threw it up for grabs more often than he should. for goodness sake even Jamarcus Russell doesn't get booed as much as we have to our starting quarterbacks.  And Russell is awful.

So here is Orton coming from the bears learning a new system with a new coach won against the bengals( Amazing luck) dominates the browns! and we boo him. Gosh people support your quarterback. Elway was great. Let Orton be the first to not be in the shadow of elway. There will never be another elway. But there are players that are winners Orton is one of them. He will lead the Broncos and will Lead them strong. Already he has stepped up and admited when he is wrong. all that I have seen from the first preseason game is a man improving every game with a strong desire to win. guess what he doesn't blame other players when something bad happends. Cutler would never say he was wrong and fix what he is doing. the result for cutler 4 pick first game.

So can we support our quarterback let him step away from the shadow of elway??? I can't help but feel sorry for teams like the colts and pats when their superstar quarterbacks leave a shadow over thier francise and fans.
