Promoted to the front page because, frankly, nobody else was posting anything!

I think it would be sweet to have something this ridiculous on the front page, so I decided to post this website for all to enjoy. It is quite possibly my favorite website, besides this one, for it specializes in the one food we can all agree is freaking awesome. Bacon. Glorious bacon.

This will be the first in an ongoing series of bacon-realted posts I will be doing on fridays now that there is this concept of "fan post friday". Oh, that was a mistake. But there is the disclaimer that only will this be promoted withing reason. Well my good sirs, bacon is always in reason. Here is your bacon idea of the day. Bacon Brownies. It takes the chocolate covered bacon idea to a whole new level. A level that is delicious.

Nebraska

Heres some thoughts from an outsider. By outsider, I mean someone who attends a rival school.

Also, I have edited bit, mostly spacing it out so its not just a big block of words. I was not about paragraphs last night.

Missouri is winning this game. 31-7. lets be real. this nebraska power trip got old years ago. I got family up in omaha, and I went to the game against troy 2 years ago when Lucky ran rampant. the fans are great when Nebraska is winning. But threaten that and its too close for comfort. They should realize that not every year is a national championship possibility. I am a ND fan, so I deal with completely unrealistic predictions about football, (see Holtz, Lou) and I mostly can ignore them, but I sometimes get caught up in it. I try not to, but the optomisim can be caught. I totally understand the appeal.

I was right there nebraska fans. I was. I thought and believed that ND could win 11 games this year. But take a step back and be real about things. Bo is not the savior. He needs to recruit a defense that fits his image. It could take 3 years tops. You are not used to this , Nebraska fans. I wasnt. But football can not be turned around in 1 year. Your last coach was awful. He ignored your tradition, your history. He tried to take the program on a path it had never been on or succeeded on before. It was a dumb idea. It was a great idea to bring in a person who believed in the old way, the tradition. It will take some time to undo what Callahan did. It will take time and I believe that your fans can have the patience. Bo knows. He does. Give him time.

I have plenty of family in omaha. My father was born there. I was a fan. Then I went to missouri. That does not mean I lost the soft spot. They can be great again. Its not the absurd amount of bourbon I have drank since 1:30, its what I truly think. Nebraska needs time. Now is not the time. Give it time. Your time of running rampant in the big 12 north is over, and that might be hard to take. but trust me, I respect the tradition, the history of your program. I have been to memorial stadium, I have participated in the sea of red. I have experienced it. Its awesome. Its one of the best stadium experiences I have ever been a part of. I have been to heinz field in pittsburgh, south bend, faurot, georgia tech in atlanta, soldier field in chicago for ND-Northwestern and some places I cant think of (i am real drunk) but truth is, memorial is a seriously awesome place to be on a saturday in the fall. (timeout, I saw Nebraska-Troy in 2006). Its so awesome how your fans get into every game. Your stadium is a magnificent place to be. Drink up Nebraska fans, you have it better than 99% of the country when it comes to college football. Its so awesome that you guys have the whole support of a state. Here in Missouri, if the cardinals were in the playoffs or if its the first day of deer hunting season, we cant fill the stadium. you guys can any day of the week. thats an enviable possibility. I wish the fan support could be at that level in missouri. dont worry Nebraska, you will be at that level again. Its just that it wont be as easy as it was last time. Johhny Rodgers cant help you know.

Create some new history. I have seen your facilities. You will get the recruits. Players will want to play for Bo. The Future is bright for Nebraska. I want you guys to do well. Believe that. Not every program had a run of success that you did. (that ridiculous bowl streak you had) The glory days are not far away. Revel in the support you have, the strength your fans show day to day, week to week. There are plenty of schools that would want to switch places with you. The support you have, the power your fans show. be proud of that. There are few to none schools that can prove that they have the type of support yours does. You are in a unique situation. There are plenty of schools that would want toy be in the situation you are in. Its about half time, but I have plenty more to say. I decide to end here because y'all are driving. Put faith in the future, nebraska, the glory days are coming back to you. It just wont be as easy this time around.
