19 year old commits suicide
http://newteevee.com/2008/11/20/19-year-old-commits-suicide-on-justintv/
This is totally Off topic but I came across this article on Digg.com. Supposedly he was bullied by people over the internet which led to his suicide.
Not saying anyone on this site has problems, but someone could have a rough life, and comes to this site because they have no where else to go and likes the comfort. When people harass or bully people on here, it kinda worries me now. Because everyone whose a member of this site is a real life person, and words can affect people.
I just hope all this making fun of people and embarrassing others calms down. People are entitled to their own opinion, so even if its wrong or you disagree, you don't have to bring that person down. I know most of it is fun and games, but some of tthe stuff I read on here is kinda disturbing.
PS: Im a young, happy, and healthy guy lol. I love my life. So this has nothing to deal with me lol
Texas Rangers Season in Review

Jim Callis on Derek Holland
Several pitchers recently drafted or acquired by the Rangers are getting a lot of attention, starting with Blake Beavan, Neftali Feliz, Tommy Hunter, Michael Main and Neil Ramirez. But Derek Holland is flying under the radar despite an outstanding season. What can you tell us about him?
Zack Wristen
Abilene, TexasHolland just missed cracking our Rangers Top 30 in the 2008 Prospect Handbook, but he'll easily make it in next year's edition. In his first full season as a pro, he has gone 10-1, 2.60 in 22 starts between low Class A Clinton and high Class A Bakersfield. Opponents are hitting just .217 with three homers against him, and he has posted a 128-34 K-BB ratio in 125 innings.
A 25th-round pick out of Wallace State (Ala.) CC in the 2006 draft, Holland signed as a draft-and-follow the next spring. Credit area scout Rick Schroeder with a tremendous find. Holland has a better fastball than most lefthanders, as it ranges from 91-97 mph and really jumps on hitters. His changeup is a solid second pitch, and he'll also flash a quality slider. He still has a ways to go, but Holland has a ceiling of a No. 2 starter.
Lefty throwing 97? If he continues to dominate in the minor leagues, he could be a No.1 starter.
K9 ratio in High A is 10.80 + WHIP is 0.70 = STUD
The one thing I want to see him improve is his BB total. In clinton his BB9 was 2.79. That's 29 BB 93.2IP
If he finishes the year strong in AA, do you think he has a immense chance being in the rangers rotation in 2009?
Feliz Time? by MH
What do yall think about the situation? If we our 2.5 games behind the wild card, would you bring him up? I personally would.....what do yall think?

Engel Beltre - # 1 on Prospect HotSheet
Team: low Class A Clinton (Midwest)
Age: 18
Why He's Here: .545/.545/1.136, 12-for-22, 2 2B,1 3B, 3 HR, 4 RBI, 7 R, 0 BB, 4 SO, 2-for-2 SB
The Scoop: The Rangers challenged Beltre with an assignment to low Class A Clinton, and he's been holding his own all year as the Midwest League's youngest position player while impressing with his athleticism. A potential five-tool talent, Beltre remains understandably raw in most phases of the game, but his response to a difficult environment has been off the charts. He was a key contributor to Clinton's West Division first-half title, and he's gotten even better since.
After looking like he might be slowing down a bit it in June when he hit .277/.305/.396, he's responded in a big way in July. He's had nine multi-hit games this month, including a stretch of five in a row from the 10th through the 16th, on his way to hitting .369/.379/.631 in 65 July at-bats. This stretch has allowed him to climb back up the league leaderboards, where he leads the league in runs scored (70) and is second in hits (115) and triples (9).
He's even begun to show early signs of the power that he's been projected to possess. After hitting only four home runs in the first three months of the year, Beltre clubbed long balls in three consecutive games this week, including one to leadoff Monday's game against Quad Cities.
And In the team photo
Tommy Hunter was in high Class A, a long way from Arlington. But the 2007 Rangers' supplemental first-round pick has earned a pair of promotions, and is pitching in Triple-A like he wants a September callup. Hunter, 22, improved to 1-1, 2.01 in three Triple-A starts as he threw seven shutout innings at Round Rock this week. Command is Hunter's calling card, he's walked only three batters in his last 28 innings

Minors 7/7/08
RedHawks- Tommy Hunter on the bump today. Hopefully his second outing is better.
RoughRiders- Some dude name Neftali Feliz is making his first start in Double A. I wonder if hes good. And I wish this team had more speed
Blaze- Reed is the probable pitcher
Lumberkings- Tatusko on the mound. Blah....wish main was starting instead
Indians- My second favorite pitcher Ramirez is pitching tonight. Hopfully a couple more qualtiy starts gets him bumped up
AZL rooks- Our 4th round pick this year Joeseph Wieland is getting his second career start tonight.
Should be a great night for rangers pitching prospect.
OT- NBA in Okc
I live in Oklahoma and im very happy to have a pro team in our state. Its seems like were the only ones happy and everyone else is hating. Oh well
This team is going to be young and fun to watch.
What do you yall think about the move?

Triple A
Nippert Starting for the Redhawks. And Chris Davis has not hit a bomb yet
Double A- On FSN
Ballard is starting for the RoughRiders doing a pretty decent job.
Low A
Feliz line- 3H 2BB 0R 10K's in 6.0 innings. ERA- 2.06
Low A short season
Neil Ramirez - 2H 2BB 1ER 6K's in 5.0 innings. Keep an eye on this kid, he is one special kid.
AZL rookie league started today.
Benjamin Henry the 30th pick last year started and went 5 innings 3H 0ER 2BB 5K's
Kyle O' Campo the 13th pick got the win going 3 innings 0H 0BB 3K's
Nice start for our AZL rookie team
Prospect Hotsheet
Chris Davis No.1 this week
Team: Triple-A Oklahoma (Pacific Coast)
Age: 22
Why he's here: .400/.441/.967 (12-for-30), 5 HR, 2 2B, 12 RBIs, 9 R, 3 BB, 8 SO
The Scoop: If he doesn't get called up to Arlington in the second half, you may be hearing Davis' name bandied about for Minor League Player of the Year honors. That's how good he's been in 2008.
In addition to batting a cumulative .338/.389/.651 between Double-A and Triple-A this season, Davis also leads the minor leagues in RBIs (69) and runs (65) while ranking third in home runs (22) and extra-base hits (43) and second in total bases (181).
While he struggled initially after being bumped to Triple-A, Davis proved he was up to the task by reeling off a 14-game hitting streak (slugging .945 along the way) that was snapped Thursday—though he walked twice, preserving a 23-game on-base streak. Davis is batting a scalding .377/.443/.826 in 69 June at-bats, and best of all, he's maintained his power production while making more contact than he did last season.
Neftali Feliz No. 5
Team: low Class A Clinton (Midwest)
Age: 20
Why He's Here: 0-0, 1.69, 5 1/3 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 11 SO
The Scoop: Feliz has seemingly been knocking on the Hot Sheet door all season, but it took until now for him to finally break through. The Dominican righthander has taken the MWL by storm in 2008, posting a 2.24 ERA that ranks seventh in the league and his 10.93 K/9 is second among starters in the minor leagues. A hard thrower whose secondary stuff showed much improvement in the last year, Feliz has limited his opposition to just 19 runs in 68 1/3 innings, and he's permitted just 13 extra-base hits all season as well. Last Saturday against Wisconsin, Feliz recorded a season-high 11 strikeouts in just 5 1/3 innings, including one stretch in which he struck out five hitters in a

Spokane opening day
Neil Ramirez, RHP Spokane Indians (Texas Rangers) One of the premier prospects in the Rangers organization, the right-handed hurler will make his professional debut with the Indians. Ramirez was chosen in the first round (No. 44 overall) in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, and brings a fastball that can reach the velocity of 96 mph, which he backs up with an attractive curveball and changeup that keep hitters off balance. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder out of Kempsville High School in Virginia was named the Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year, after he posted a 6-2 record with a 1.46 ERA and 74 strikeouts in just 52 2/3 innings. The Virginia Beach native is just 19 years old, but is hoping to play a large part in the Rangers' plans sooner rather than later.
Spokane Indians 2007 Results: 33-42 2008 Manager: Time Hulett Things to look forward to: Over the past two seasons, the Indians' Avista Stadium home has been upgraded to the tune of approximately four million dollars in renovations. Last season, the Indians drew more than 190,000 fans, and the further facility improvements should help them keep fan flow going this year. ... The Texas Rangers have assigned the Indians two new prospects out of the June Draft: Richard Bleier, who was drafted in the sixth round out of Florida Gulf Coast University, and ninth-round selection Jared Bolden, an outfielder taken as a junior out of Virginia Commonwealth. The Indians are looking forward to getting young stars into the professional fray. And Matt West should be in the line up today.

- The Stats -
I know in the beginning of the season most of us didn't think the rangers had the offense like we used to, with tex gone or the past players we used to have like juan gonzalez , rafael palmero, pudge, etc.
I also know its early in the season, but our offense is pretty much leading in every offensive category.
We all know hambones stats, but one that jumps at me is Ian's stats.
By far the best hitting 2nd basemen in the AL. We all need to vote 30 times each!
Michael Young might not be hitting as good as we like, but he's outhitting every shortstop in the AL.
Milton Bradley and David Murphy are studs, we know that already. Both leading in some kind of category.
Those were the good stats and now for the bad.
We have the worst team ERA in the AL. The most Errors and fielding percentage in AL
I don't want to end this post with a bad note.
I think the rangers farm system has the best overall record in the minor league.
Chris Davis proving hes ready for the bigs
Chris Davis launched a walk off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to propel the Frisco RoughRiders (15-4) past the San Antonio Missions (9-10) on Thursday, April 24 at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The night marked another milestone for Dr Pepper Ballpark as the 3,000,000th fan passed through the turnstiles at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
Who thinks chris davis is ready by the end of this year? I sure think he is!
How about baseball tonight
having buck showalter as a guest. He has a weird laugh.

Go Rangers!
Surprise, AZ
I know you guys probly get alot of these, so sorry if this bugs you.
Me and 3 of my good friends are wanting to take a road trip to Surpise to watch some baseball.
Was wondering if its best to get a hotel next to the ball park or somewhere farther. And are the hotels close to the ballpark expensive? And how much would it cost.
And if there is any advice to meet some ball players, letting me know would be nice.
thank you---
