Bleeding Green Nation LJ to Ravens and Heap to Eagles!?!

I know this is early but LJ just signed with the Ravens and Heap...

"It’s unknown what this development means for veteran Todd Heap, who is due to earn a base salary of $3.6 million in 2009.

Coach John Harbaugh is closely familiar with Smith, given that Harbaugh served as an assistant coach in Philadelphia during most of Smith’s career there."

Heap at 6'5 and under 30 would be our goal-line stud and he's got great hands.... If we don't at least try to talk with Harbaugh and get him some picks for Heap it would upset me.

Blogging The Boys True test....

The true test is when the boys struggle this season... because at some point they will (like every team).  if the team struggles early talks will be about wether or not it was a good decision...... in philly it wasnt a questionable decision the team saw what was happening and put it past them.   with this being sort of non-chelant and not a blow up will players be pointing fingers at management and or will they forget about the past and move forward....

one thing is for sure TO as talented as he is.... is one giant mess.

Bleeding Green Nation "NO CHANCE" OF A T.O. RETURN TO PHILLY

“NO CHANCE” OF A T.O. RETURN TO PHILLY

Posted by Mike Florio on March 5, 2009, 4:29 p.m. EST

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports, and we separately have confirmed, that the Eagles will not be making a play for free-agent receiver Terrell Owens.

Per the Inquirer, there is no interest

Per our source, there is “no chance.”

But if PFT Planet had gotten its way, the move would have been made.  The Eagles have pulled their “Should we sign T.O.?” poll after a heavy influx of PFT readers had pushed the total tally to more than 75 percent.

Well done, my friends.  Well done.

PFT once again hating on the birds

Bleeding Green Nation Pats trade for Greg Lewis & Signing Springs... Boston Globe

< Back to Front Page Text size + Report: Patriots acquire WR Greg Lewis Link|Comments (0) Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff March 5, 2009 03:45 PM

The Patriots have acquired receiver Greg Lewis from the Philadelphia Eagles, Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports.

The Globe is now working to confirm this trade.

Lewis, 29, has spent the first six years of his career with the Eagles.

First-year Patriots director of pro personnel Jason Licht spent five years with the Eagles, so it's possible that this reported move could have come with his strong recommendation.

Report: Springs expected to sign with Patriots Link|Comments (21) Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff March 5, 2009 02:26 PM

Free-agent cornerback Shawn Springs is expected to sign with the Patriots, according to Shalize Manza-Young of the Providence Journal.

The Globe is currently working to confirm the report. [Update, 3:16 p.m. -- The Globe can confirm that the sides have an agreement, but a contract has not yet been finalized]

The 33-year-old Springs would address one of the Patriots' more pressing needs -- cornerback help. Springs (6-0, 207) is a 12-year veteran who was released by the Redskins last week after Washington re-signed DeAngelo Hall.

Springs has played for the Seahawks (1997-2003) and Redskins (2004-2008).

EAGLES CONDUCT T.O. REFERENDUM

Posted by Mike Florio on March 5, 2009, 3:10 p.m. EST

Well, the Philadelphia Eagles have come up with an interesting way to generate web traffic.

On their official Internet site, the Eagles have posted a poll asking the following question:  “Do you want the Eagles to sign T.O.?”

Currently, the “no” vote is leading, 62.9 percent to 37.1 percent, based on 9,625 votes.

We think that the poll should have a third possible response — “Is the person who came up with the idea to put this issue to a fan poll high?”

UPDATE:  You know, we should probably all vote “yes,” just for gits and shiggles.

Bleeding Green Nation Would M. Harrison be a nice fit?

With our QB's "window closing" and making comments about waiting to sign his extension to see what we do this offseason, does Marvin Harrison seem to be a nice fit? Their college buddies.... a great route runner but aging.  Would this be enough for 5 to be satisfied and or would the birds pursue him?

Sir Randall Cunningham - Height: 6-4 Weight: 215 Age: 45. Born: 3/27/1963 Santa Barbara , CA - 11yrs of Philadelphia service and best punting qb of all time ;)  91yards - 1 punt

Bleeding Green Nation Now what? Something is going to give....

With Mcnabb sitting back and watching these events happen, whats next?  The only way i can see this panning out is in 2 totally different directions.  First we either make a splash by signing Bolden mcnabb is happy and goes into Lurie's office to sign his career to philly.  If this doesnt happen (and it doesnt look good) whats next?? Lurie and the birds are on the front page with a QB contraversy b/c they scrambled at the last minute to sign marvin harrison or holt or someone we truly will over pay.  Our defense we can all agree on hasnt gotten any better this off season and with his remarks about our d not holding in the AZ game he isnt expecting the D to get us in the playoffs.  I am sad to say this is starting to look like an end to a great run with mcnabb that will never get enough credit.  the birds have to step up and put talent around him and make this run in the next yr or two.... end of story or mcnabb is out before the year is up...... sad sad days

Bleeding Green Nation Correct me if I am wrong but.... Our organization

With Mcnabb's sitdown and both parties stating they want mcnabb to retire an eagle....all was well.  Mcnabb makes a statement he's going to wait on his contract talks to see how we pursue talent this offseason(rightfully so)..  Correct me if i am wrong... dawkins, tra, c-buck, lito and others being dumped TJ houzzyourmama gone to seattle after he constantly talked about wanting to goto philly, texting radio stations in philly etc... correct me if i am wrong but we're not getting bolden.... and mcnabb is going to take this as an even bigger slap to his face over his benching.... please correct me if i am wrong.  I am a little pissed at our organization for not even trying to talk with TJ....

Please tell i am wrong and mcnabb wont have to go down that road....
