Interviewing in Denver Thursday.

I have a big job interview in Denver. If I can land this job, I get to leave Albuquerque and can be in short driving distance to the games and may actually afford season tickets.

T-Shirt Ideas

Hey folks! I was just doing some playing around with a t-shirt design. Feel free to take a look and give some feedback. If I knew how to do this on a fanshot, I'd have put it there.

Here's what I came up with.....

Could be a good shirt for "Raider Week". I'm not sure that a "Phyllis and his merry men" or "Missouri Indians" T-Shirt would work too well.

If you are a designer, I welcome other ideas for shirts like this.

Have a great weekend!

Hi folks!

Summer is coming up. The weather is getting hotter and we won't get to see the Broncos until July (except for mini-camps). What better way to pass the time and cool off for a while before heading to Training Camp? Head to the Rockies! And with respect to Purple Row, I mean the real mountains.

One of the best places to cool off and take your shot at fishing for rainbow is:

If not, perhaps a rafting trip at this location:

This is a reason that this is "God's Country"

Enjoy these places folks! This is another reason that "Broncos Country" is the best!

(Photos are of Taylor Lake and the Arkansas River)

As many of you know, I have been in hiding. Nothing against the site, but a 2 month old baby boy is a handfull and it's hard to type. I just want to write a small blurb about what has happened in the last week and here are my thoughts. My apologies if some of this seems ignorant and redundant:

1. Jay Cutler is not our QB anymore. Cutler's tantrum over a trade sadly showed some of his true colors. I thought that having a coach with a spread offense that was similar to what Jeremy Bates scripted last year would be a good fit. Blowing off your coach, owner and even your teammates' calls is never a good way to deal with an issue. Both team and player had some blame in this mess.

2. Bus Cook got what he wanted (sort of). Cutler's agent seemed to pull a lot of strings and push way too many buttons. This situation really reeks of Cook. I'm not sure that Cook wanted to send Cutler to Chicago though.

3. While Kyle Orton is not as flashy as Cutler, he is a tough player and a good game manager. Something that may be a little lost is Orton was Purdue's all time leader in passing yards and ran a version of the spread offense (which also produced Drew Brees) under coach Joe Tiller.

4. Denver has the future in mind. By raking in two higher picks this year and a first round next year, the Broncos have a golden opportunity to add quality players. This team will definitely have to nail thier drafts the next two years.

5. The pressure is on both Denver and Chicago. Expectations are going to be quite high. Chicago is taking on a QB that will be expected to win and win now. Denver is sending a Pro-Bowl QB away and getting some picks. The Broncos will have to do some winning for the fanbase to accept Cutler's departure. Too many losses this year will be tough to endure with all the pick-ups they signed in free agency. We will all find out in the next few years if Denver reaped the rewards for this trade.

6. At the end of the day, we are all still Broncos fans. Guru wrote this already, but I'll put my own spin on it. As much as this drama the last month has been arrgavating, it is a relief there is closure to this issue right or wrong. I know there are fans that won't let this go for quite some time, but as in everyithing winning cures a ton of ills.

Something to think about is that this is a game. There are plenty of problems in the real world and MHR is a great escape. It is now time to return to the positive news and the upcoming draft so we all can move on. Time for me to go back into hiding and tend to my boy. Have a great weekend, thanks for reading and......GO BRONCOS!!!!

For Albuquerque Broncos fans.....

Because of last season, I felt compelled to write a fanpost. I'm not sure where to start with this, but in the 2007 season the Broncos Radio network was broadcast on 94 Rock in Albuquerque. In 2008 however, the Broncos radio games were nowhere to be found. I called the Clear Channel offices before the season started, but got nowhere and had no luck contacting a station manager.

Last I checked, the Broncos Radio Network broadcasted games in the Farmington and Raton areas. What is revolting about not having the Broncos or even the Cardinals (who are the two closest teams geographically) on the radio. Instead they have the Cowboys and the conquered fader nation. That is beyond wrong!

As nice as it is to watch the Broncos on TV, listening to the play by play at times is aggravating. I'd rather turn the TV down and listen to Dave and Dave.

If any of you have an idea on how the Broncos can come back to a radio station in the Albuquerque area, please by all means comment below.

For the past three seasons, the Denver Broncos have had too many losses on thier home field and in the last two seasons the home record has been 8-8. Denver's homefield advantage has been lost. It looks more like Wrigley Field (that no opponet fears) than the Mile High intimidation that once struck fear into the visitor. Losing to the Jags, faders, Bills and fish this past season was unacceptable.

Teams in this league that can't get it done at home rarely if ever get far in the NFL. The only exception to this rule is the 2007 Giants when they went 9-1 on the road, but only 4-4 at home.

Now with the removal of Shanny, the excitement of a new coach (whoever that will be) and a changed roster, will the "Mile High Magic" return to the Broncos? I say it can! The team will have a different sort of leader next season, but Broncos fans need to play thier part as well. For too long, the wine and cheese crowd has ruined the advantage for the Broncos. I'm not talking about going to boorish behavior and fights in the stands, I mean crowd noise and lots of it! When fans leave because they are cold or want to beat traffic, that is a sad state for Broncomaina. We need fans to toughen up like the team needs to toughen up. It is way past time for real fans to return the "Magic" too.

While am visiting the in-laws this week in Washington State, I learned that the Broncos/conquered fader nation game would not been seen on local TV, I decided to take a drive to a local sports bar that had NFL Sunday Ticket. I got dressed in my John Elway throwback jersey with the 75th anniversary patch and went over there with my father-in-law planning on a great game and some good chicken wings.

As we came into the bar, we saw several TV's with all the games. Soon we were settled into a booth with the game coming on. For the first part of the game, the defense forced the conquered fader nation into a 3 and out. Denver got the ball back and drove the ball down the field with relative ease. Something changed on that drive when Peyton Hillis and Cutler couldn't handle the ball on the fader 5 yard line, resulting in giving the ball to Al's pals. Instead of overcoming the turnover, the game turned worse. You all know the rest of the story and I left after Cutler threw an interception in the 4th quarter. Having to listen to some poser fader fans and their spawn cheering at the bar was bad enough with Denver beating themselves at every turn.

I have come to some conclusions for this team:

This team is too immature on both sides of the ball. They don't take thier opponet seriously enough at times. Stop posing after making a play and win the game.

We have some promising talent coming up, but it could take a few more years.

Good teams don't turn the ball over, great teams overcome turnovers when that rare occasion arises.

Being outcoached by Rex Ryan and Tom Cable is unacceptable in all instances.

This team does not deserve to win the AFC West. If they do, it will be one and done.

Don't ever pity the fader nation after this day. Denver needs to keep the "conquered" in the fader nation name.

As I came to these conclusions (as most of the rest of you did), I started to think of the people we would play on our schedule next season. After today's game you have to be hopeful for something.

Here's what our schedule will entail for next season:

Home:

Missouri Indians

conquered fader nation

Phyllis and his merry men

Cleveland Browns

Pittsburgh Steelers

Dallas Cowboys

New York Giants

AFC East opponet (depending on final standings could be New England, New York Jets, Miami Dolphins or Buffalo Bills)

Away:

Missouri Indians

conquered fader nation

Phyllis and his merry men

Baltimore Ravens

Cincinnati Bengals

Philadelphia Eagles

Washington Redskins

AFC South opponet (Indianapolis Colts, Tennesee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars or Houston Texans)

We have quite a schedule coming up next season. This team will be better next season. Another good draft and some wise free agent acquisitions (as well as better health) will take this group to a new level.
