For now, we'll do like everyone else and ignore that, for the forthcoming seconds and perhaps minutes, Herm Edwards has not been fired.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>So far we've heard Parcells and Cowher, two former coaches who've made it pretty clear they're done with walking the sideline -- at least for this season. The move was announced Wednesday morning. Terms of his contract were not disclosed. Cunningham is a 40-year coaching veteran on the college and pro level and represents the first major hire by newly installed Lions coach Jim Schwartz. Cunningham was Kansas City's head coach from 1999-2000 and the Chiefs' defensive coordinator in 1995-98 and 2004-08. He also served alongside Schwartz on the Tennessee Titans staff. He'll set about trying to fix one of the league's worst defenses, one of the big reasons Detroit didn't win a game last season.</p> </blockquote>
