Tom Condon
The source said he believes that Stafford's agent, Tom Condon, will eventually agree to a deal with the Lions but probably won't do it until it gets closer to the Friday deadline. The price of the contract can only go up in the final hours so Condon will likely push the issue as far as he feels he has something to gain.
I hate to say this about a former chief but I have felt like Tom Condon is becoming the Scott Boras of the NFL. This Matt Stafford stuff might finally convince me. Maybe the Lions should draft Mark Sanchez and say it was because of Tom Condon to send a message. Sanchez and Stafford are not that far apart talent wise.
interesting trade posibilities from cbs sports
Here are some I dont think I have seen mentioned that make a lot of sense....
1.) Cleveland trades pick Nos. 5 and 36 to Kansas City for pick Nos. 3 and 102: If the Browns trade Edwards, they might not want Crabtree to escape them. Other possible targets are Raji (especially if Shaun Rogers is moved) and Curry, as they could be difference-makers in coach Eric Mangini's defense.
2.) Jacksonville trades Nos. 8, 39, 72 and 144 to Kansas City for No. 3: The Jaguars proved last April they are willing to move up to get the player they want. Crabtree, Monroe or Raji might be that guy this year.
I think maybe these make more sense than Denver or Buffalo.
