Earlier today, the fresh faces of the NBA gathered at the MSG Training Facility in Tarrytown, New York for the Rookie Photo Shoot. The league's newcomers were photographed for NBA media materials, including officially licensed Panini trading cards. The photo shoot also provided the perfect platform for some of the 2012 Draft stars to break out sneakers from their endorsed brands for the very first time. Nike obviously packed a very heavy 1-2 punch with Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist at the top, but adidas Basketball has also done very well for themselves. In fact, Nick broke news of Harrison Barnes and Austin Rivers signing with the Stripes this morning, and the two lotto picks were rushed adi kicks just in time for the photo shoot. As expected, Jordan retros dominated the event with releases from the last couple of years. There's still a few deals to be signed, but Reebok and Under Armour were no-shows on this day. Check out your favorite NBA rookies in their new digs and fresh kicks in this special 2012 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot edition of Sneaker Watch.

Before reaching a deal with Philadelphia, some teams approached about acquiring Dorell Wright asked that the Warriors also include a future draft pick in compensation for taking on the contract. With the Philly deal, the Warriors clean up a glut of duplicate small forwards, get a $4.1 million trade exception and can use both the mid-level and bi-annual exceptions to sign free agents without butting up against the luxury tax.... -Rusty Simmons Wow the league must think Myers is an idiot. They were trying to get a pick and Dorrell for a salary dump? Hes only making 4 mil this year and hes expiring... hes still young, good in the locker room, and he can play! Its not like hes a scrub like Charlie Bell. That's just insulting.

Jeff Taylor 2012 NBA Draft Video. he could be a great role player for us at 30 in the sefolosha, pietris mold

For those asking, NBA sources say Warriors appear to be keeping No. 7 pick. May have floated it briefly, but nothing out there they wanted. - Sam Amico Twitter
Per the NBA rumor mill, the Chicago Bulls are entertaining giving up Luol Deng to get into the NBA draft lottery. According to sources, Golden State hasn’t talked with Chicago about Deng yet. But Deng is on the Warriors’ short list of veteran small forwards they’d be interested in. Chicago would have to take some of the Warriors’ baggage in return, such as Richard Jefferson or Andris Biedrins, along with the No. 7 pick. The Bulls may get better offers. Trade talks, from the Warriors end, have been fairly slow. But things won’t pick up in earnest anyway until next week, as the June 28 draft nears
http://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/golden_state_warriorsSullingers pre-draft interview with us. I wish we could actually see the workouts like the Kings do. The media department is slacking
Drummond's workout with the Kings. Everyone looks good in these workouts but I'm impressed, it looks like hes gotten a little better since the end of the season. Its really amazing to see how well he moves, he runs around like a guard. If hes there at 7 there's just too much upside to not take him.
Damian Lillard's workout with the Kings. He can shoot the lights out, its not the prettiest shot but hes smooth.
Warriors Pre-Draft Workout Interview: Terrence Jones
They were talking about this on The Game today. We would probably have to throw in our 30th pick and maybe one of the second rounders.I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone bring it up here before....
Jorge Gutierrez's Pre-Draft workout interview with the Dubs. I loved this guy at Cal he was a real fan favorite. Id love to give him a training camp tryout. I could see the fans really taking to him since theres a big latino population in the bay area.
I used to be an avid KNBR listener but i switched over to 95.7 the game about a year ago and never looked back. KNBR focuses about 80 percent of their time on the Giants and it just got old. I'm...
For whatever reason DeJuan Blair has played his way out of Popovich's rotation. Diaw is getting the starting nod and Blair has hardly seen the court. He could greatly help us off the bench next season. Would you guys give the spurs back their pick plus Jeremy Tyler and maybe one of our second rounders for him? The Spurs have had amazing success with late round picks do you think they would do it?
Best crossovers of the season, Nate is number 3. My favorites are Rodney Stuckey on Kobe and Deron Williams on Willie Green.
Things progressed very quickly after TK tweeted about Monta privately saying he wanted to be traded. I think the Warriors would have been able to get a deal done without Ekpe if these private talks didnt get leaked. TK should of waited until after the trade deadline to report about this. I understand that it is their job to report these type of things but he should of used some discretion, knowing that leaking this info would strip the Warriors of any leverage that they had in the proposed trade. In not questioning his credibility either but whos to say that Monta even said he wanted to be traded with all the rumors flying around. When word got out that Monta wanted to be traded it seemed like the FO made a snap decision before they lost all leverage they had. It really sucks we lost Udoh and had to take SJax back. Its the medias job to report on the team not influence their decisions.
i always liked Bruno but that's pretty out of line. get em Boch!
According to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports, the Blazers informed Oden earlier this week they'll indeed tender him his $8.8 million qualifying offer to make him a restricted free agent. Considering Oden's injury history and pricey qualifying offer, it's a safe bet he'll be back in Portland next season, as other teams may view him as too much of a risk to make an offer on at this point in his career.
More Monta speculation, this time from the San Jose Mercury
But this game was just too important to tank. We needed to show everyone how capable we were of beating the Blazers reserves. It was so important that we risked further injury to our golden boys ankle. A win on the last game of the season always takes precedence over moving up in the draft right?? Like last season when getting Nellie the record was more important then getting us Demarcus Cousins! Gooooo team goooo!!
UPDATE No 2: Updating this below chatter from last month, it's sounding like a decision on Smart's future could linger for a bit. "Warriors owner Joe Lacob indicated during a brief conversation on Monday that an announcement on Smart won't be coming immediately following the season, and that it might be a couple of weeks or more before any decision is made on the coach's future," wrote Matt Steinmetz of Comcast SportNet Bay Area. --- UPDATE: ESPN's Marc Stein adds this in the Weekend Dime. "Although Warriors owner Joe Lacob has been largely complimentary of his rookie coach while consistently insisting that Smart will be evaluated on the full 82 games, there are rising doubts about Smart's ability to serve as more than a one-season stopgap after he was promoted by the new ownership group when Don Nelson was ousted mere days before the start of training camp," he wrote. As such, this could indeed be Smart's only season as head coach of the Warriors. --- The contract for Keith Smart expires after this season and he's not expected to receive a new contract from Warriors owner Joe Lacob. Matt Steinmetz of CSN Bay Area thinks Smart's relationship with Stephen Curry might be at the top of the list as to why the head coach will be looking for a job this summer. Steinmetz writes: "... anyone who's been watching the games can see Curry's body language, and not just when he comes out of games. Curry doesn't have the bounce he had last year, the pep ... the smile. When the day comes when the Warriors announce Smart won't be coming back -- and how can that day not come? -- he'll be praised for being a good man, a person of character and a quality human being. That will all be true. There will be reasons why Smart won't be back, no doubt more than one. But right at the top will be the Smart-Curry relationship." Smart is a good coach and shouldn't have a hard time hooking up with a team as an assistant coach next season. -- Nick Borges
been wanting this for a long time make it happen!
look at the enthusiasm that our GM is showing its really inspiring. it makes me want to run right out and invest a thousand dollars in season tickets. this team is in great hands let us all rejoice! *sarcasm
