Any Draft Day Trades During Lockout?
Now that the fight over the next NFL CBA has moved into the hands of lawyers and courts, what is draft day going to look like? Does anybody have any ideas? If the lockout persists into the draft, can teams trade picks? Can teams trade up or down? The draft would not nearly be as exciting without the prospect of trading up or down. I have been unable to locate any information on this specific topic and I know somebody out there knows something...any ideas/information?
Conspiracy Theory
Here's one for you...Matthew Stafford just underwent shoulder surgery...many of us ask...why now? We were told over and over and over again that he wouldn't need surgery. Why all of of a sudden do they do it now and not 2 months ago? I have read from different websites after frantically searching for more information about the alleged molestation case that Matthew Stafford was in attendance at the Ironwood and that he was involved in an ensuing scuffle. He reportedly was not the molester BUT was tackled to the ground in the ensuing chaos...could this have further damaged his shoulder to the point of surgery with Dr. James Andrews? I don't know but it sounds good when I type it and think about it...what do you guys think? Is this a possible explanation? We may never find out.
Protesting the game
I am a life-long Lions fan born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. I currently live in Columbus, Ohio where a Lions game is rarely televised. The only time I get to watch a game at home is Thanksgiving (Sometimes Packs or Vikes). Last weeks game was the MOST PAINFUL football game I have ever witnessed. I watch every single game at a local sports bar with either my just-as-loyal brother or other die-hard Toledo-born Lions fans. During the game last week I swore up and down I would protest this weeks game and not watch a single snap. I believe this does not scar my loyalty but actually makes it stronger. I am an unhealthy co-dependent of the Lions and have blindly followed them through their devastating ways always fearlessly defending their brand. I am very proud (probably why I am still a Lions fan) and sticking to my guns during this important protest. I believe that this protest will make me happier, much calmer, less restless, irritable, and discontented. I am not asking anybody to join me or anything but I wanted everybody to realize why I am doing this. My happiness and peace-of-mind was severely affected last week and brought my serenity to an all-time low. I love the Lions just as much as anybody on this site or anybody who lives and breathes Lions football. The ironic thing is the game is locally televised in Columbus this week and I found a loophole. I am going to tape the game and not watch a single snap LIVE. (I am really good at rationalizing my irrational behavior. It's one of the defense mechanisms I have learned to be able to survive as a Lions fan.) So may peace be with everybody in Lions land and know that our paths will meet back up soon. I hope to GOD that I regret my decision at a 4 PM after finding out we actually pulled out a win. Good luck and may God have mercy on all our souls!!! :)
Trade Stafford
When I woke up this morning and heard the news about the contract, I was upset to say the least. What I want to know is if a trade is possible? I want to know if a packaged Stafford contract can be lofted to somebody else? I am really angry especially due to the size and nature of his contract. I have a knot in my stomach and do not like this feeling at all. I waited very, very long for this day and feel like my house just got broken into. I feel cheap, used, and left to deal with this pain all alone. Can somebody help me out? This is not good.
