This weekend your Texas Rangers have a chance to really distance themselves from the ever so cocky Angels of Anaheim. Also another young team seems to have come into its own - your FC Dallas are finally making a playoff push! Let's see if there is anything else on this weekend.

This weekend we might get to witness the Rangers finish off the Red Sox. Rangers were coming off a very unflattering series loss to the Orioles. Meanwhile FC Dallas looks to capture some soccer attention after the end of the World Cup last week.

Wow I just finished watching the U.S. match! What a comeback! Too bad the ref didn't show better judgment on the winning goal. But let's not take away from the awesome effort US put forth. There is a lot going on this weekend from soccer to baseball to golf..... OK I guess that's it but there is plenty of it! Now let's see what is going on.

No FC Dallas this week but we do have some exciting soccer to look forward to. USA takes on England this Saturday on what has been billed by many as the most anticipated matchup the US has ever had. Winning this match would go a long ways in qualifying for the next round as the two other countries, Algeria and Slovenia, are much weaker sides.

Brek Shea named MLS Player of the Week
Brek Shea was named the MLS Player of the Week following his two goal showing against the Earthquake. It’s the first time a FC Dallas player has recieved the award since last season.
FC Dallas upsets Earthquake
FC Dallas midfielder Brek Shea, nicknamed 'The Ghost", scored 2 second half goals in a two minute span. Lifting FC Dallas 2-0 over San Jose Earthquake. Shea had come in as a second half sub. Many have been predicting great things to come from this College Station product and he certainly proved him them right against the Earthquake. The two goals also mark the first time FC Dallas have scored over two goals in the past seven games. The win brings FC Dallas record to 3-2-6.

Unexpected Visitor
Today started off as any other day. I woke up early and went to my classes. Little did I know I would meet former Ranger great Kenny Rogers. I'm an assistant junior high baseball coach at my little brother's school and we had a baseball game today. Apparently Rogers helps out with the team we were gonna play. It was an awestrucking experience for me. I never randomly meet famous people and to meet one of the best Ranger pitchers was awesome. The game went on and I was wondering if I'd get a chance to say anything to him. Well it turns out I did, in a pretty funny situation too. He was in charge of the kids batting order and apparently he scrabbled it all up, so the kids were batting differently then in the batting lineup. So basically I ended up telling Rogers he had made a mistake. It was so humorous to me having to correct Kenny Rogers in a baseball matter. After the game he was very gracious and accepted to have a little chat with our kids. He talked to them and joked around with the coaches. At the end he even signed some balls and some high schoolers economics book. I even snuck in line with kids to get a ball signed too. Made me feel like a little kid again. Excited that I might catch a foul ball at the game or hopefully meet a player. Can't wait for the season to start!
I hate Jim Rome
On Wednesday Feb. 11 there was a pretty big event. Ok ok it was a soccer game but to some (me included) it was a big thing. What was the event? USA vs Mexico, one of the biggest rivalries in sports no one knows about. Mexico used to destroy USA's butt but since '99 USA has owned them and it's awesome. It was a very exciting game (US won 2 to 0) to watch and alot of people did watch it......on Univision. This is what upsets me. ESPN is showing the game on ESPN 2 and they don't try to advertise it. On its webiste, on the day of the game, they had a story about a nascar driver who couldn't race in a practice run because he cut his finger!!!! Are you freaking kidding me?! And then there's the D-bag Jim Rome. Who constantly bashes on soccer. Persnally I don't like him no matter what sport he's talking about, but it especially grinds my gears when it about soccer. Basically what upsets me is that until the media here in the US actually starts respecting soccer and covering it more. There is no way people will ever be interested in it. And to a fellow soccer lover myself it's very painful........God I hate Jim Rome

Podcast?
original article Ok I was just looking through some pretty old posts and I saw this one about a podacast. It seemed like a pretty cool thing. Whatever happened to that? Did it ever happen? I was trying to find it on the LSB page and I couldn't find anything. I was just kinda wanting to hear old Zywica's voice again (jk Perryman haha). Well let me know if y'all know anything. Thanks
