Fish Stripes Andrew Miller and The Big Unit

I was at the last game AM pitched 09/22/09. I like to adjust a players mechanics just as if I were the pitching coach. I saw the falling apart of his delivery as soon as he lifted that right leg, especially from the stretch, he lost his momentum towards the plate. It's not a kick, it's a raise, lower and throw. Aside from everything else that follows as to what is wrong, here is what AM must do: copy Randy Johnson. 1) no windup, 2) a low drive with the left leg. 3) find a good release point. That's it!  2 tall, lanky lefties. A smooth, uncluttered motion, less moving parts: consistency.

Next post after my 3rd cup of Sunday morning coffee will be Chris  Volstad. Does the pitch, "Laredo" ring a bell?
