What If?

All this talk about Giambi, Randy Johnson, and Tejada makes me wonder. If the A's had RJ in 2001 do you think they would have won the World Series? I guess the Diamondbacks wouldn't have won the WS without Johnson so I would say yes.

He wants to return to his Gold Glove position

"And I fully expect to play third base."

but he didn't totally squash the whole idea of playing elsewhere

"Hey, I'll do anything that gets me out there for 130, 140 games," he said with a laugh. "I'll do whatever they want me to do if I can do it; I've jumped out there in the outfield before."

Usually it's best to take what Chavez says with a grain of salt (I wondered if I was using this phrase correctly, according to this I am. http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=176207) but at least this time he is optimistic. A few months ago sounded like his career was over. I for one would be happy to have Chavez healthy and manning the hot corner again. Even if he never returns to his 30 HR, 100 RBI days he still is a MAJOR upgrade of Hannahan (IMHO, maybe somebody on AN could dispute that).

They used to have quick links to the highlights on the game recap page. now they have 1 clip only for each game. I did find this video, man that announcer chick looks funny. She looks like a cross between a hunchback and turtle.

Potential Andy LaRoche deal hurt

Andy LaRoche will undergo surgery in Los Angeles to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb, and he will be sidelined for eight to 10 weeks after suffering a freak injury in Friday's 6-4 exhibition loss to the Cardinals.

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080307&content_id=2412392&vkey=spt2008news&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

I doubt Beane would make a trade with Laroche in it now.

Hello AN!

The real games (sort of) start tomorrow, anyone know if it will be on the radio? I remember in the past the A's broadcast the 1st ST game and then went to a weekend game only rotation until the bay bridge series. Think they will do the same this year? Are they still on the same radio station??

And what about a ST game on TV this year, it's rare but I've seen one before.

Any links to a broadcast schedule would be appreciated.

Lets go A's, WOOT!
